A treasure domain called Shakkei Pavilion can only be unlocked by completing this quest. This is due to the fact that a cannon is needed to break the barriers blocking access to this domain, making this quest an essential condition to gaining access.

How To Use Kamuijima Cannon
To be able to activate the cannons you must first summon an Electrogranum. There are Electrogranum sources around the cannon so search for them, examine those and move closer to the cannon.
