What Kind of Character is Xilonen?
In battle, Xilonen is mainly played as an
Xilonen's slot in some meta teams have started to become contested following the release of specialized supports. This can be seen in a Mavuika Melt team were Xilonen can be replaced by C6 (or lower) Iansan and produce better results, or in Mualani's team where her place is contested by Mona after finishing her Witch's Homework task. Regardless, she remains a flexible support due to her generalist abilities.

Roles & Playstyle Of Xilonen and Its Strengths and Weakness
Elemental Damage Support and Healer Xilonen
Xilonen's best role is a Elemental Damage RES shredder and healer. Her access to Nightsoul allows her to hold Scroll set to buff Elemental Damage while her Skill and Passive shreds it. Her Burst is also great since it has powerful Single Target healing that can offset Furina's HP drain.
Pros and Cons of Support Xilonen
| Pros |
|---|
| - Can shred up to 3 PECH Elements, allowing the whole team to deal greater damage. |
| - Access to Nightsoul allows her to hold Scroll set and use its effect to buff both Geo and PECH Element hit when she triggers Crystallize. |
| - Can be used to buff even Geo DPS since her Elemental Skill creates an initial Geo sampler. |
| - Not reliant on Elemental Burst for her buff. |
| Cons |
| - Elemental Burst can accidentally be made into the damage form if her samplers weren't activated, causing potential Element cleanse. |
| - Without Furina, her Elemental Burst's Single Target healing may be lacking against teamwide HP drain enemies. |
Geo On-Field DPS Xilonen
Xilonen is able to be the On-Field DPS dealing Geo damage if you use equal or less than 1 PECH character in the team. Xilonen has noticeably lesser damage dealt compared to Navia and Itto thus making her DPS role less preferred compared to her support role.
| Pros |
|---|
| - Can utilize her own Signature Weapon for DPS. |
| - Deals a lot of Geo damage since her Elemental Burst now deals damage instead of healing. |
| Cons |
| - Weaker damage compared to the dedicated Geo DPS like Navia and Itto. |
| - Without healing, she needs a Sustain support if unable to dodge or facing a HP draining enemy. |
Best Build for Xilonen
Xilonen's best build will typically depend on the team she's placed in and what the other supports in the party have currently equipped. See below for recommendations:

Stat Goals For Off-Field Support Xilonen

|---|---|
| Crit Rate | minimum of 50%~ |
| DEF | 3,200 if you have Peak Patrol Song |
Xilonen wants to be able to have some ER% rolls on her pieces to ensure she can reliably provide healing for the team whenever needed, or every rotation if, for example, any of her equipment requires her to use Burst to trigger an effect. Beyond that, her stats goals are relatively easy to reach. She won't need CRIT Rate if you aren't using the Favonius Sword, and has no real DEF% threshold that needs to be met unless you have her Signature Weapon.

Best Weapon for Xilonen
Xilonen prefers weapons that increase the utility or support she provides to a team. See below for the recommendations:
Premium Weapons for Off-Field Support Xilonen
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best | Peak Patrol Song | Get from Limited Banner - Xilonen's signature weapon that was tailor-made for her, it provides a substantial amount of DEF and lets her deal non-negligible personal damage. - Gives the team an Elemental DMG bonus buff for every 1,000 DEF she has, further increasing her value as a support. - Doesn't provide means of generating Energy, so you'd need higher Energy Recharge rolls on her artifacts to compensate. |
| 2nd | Favonius Sword | Get from Banners - Energy Recharge secondary stat lets Xilonen use her Burst every rotation if the team needs it. - The passive grants a chance to Energy particles on a CRIT hit, which can be useful for other characters on the team since you can swap out of Xilonen before she catches the particles and let someone else get the Energy instead. - Xilonen needs to have a decent amount of CRIT Rate to be able to trigger the passive. - Best at R5 since it now guarantee that a particle will be generated on a CRIT, rather than have it based on chance. |
| 3rd | Freedom-Sworn | Get from Limited Banner - Xilonen doesn't need the Elemental Mastery this sword gives, but her kit isn't going to be extremely particular with specific stat breakpoints either, which makes this sword a viable option. - Usable if the team can benefit off of the buffs that increase Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack damage. - No Energy producing means, so you will also need to compensate with higher ER rolls on her artifacts if you want to use her Burst every rotation. |
Xilonen's weapon options have clear outliers due to the lack of options that truly synergize with her kit, apart from her Signature Weapon itself. If you don't have any of the above, you can make do with any sword that has a Energy Recharge% or DEF% secondary stat, with ER weapons being the more valuable choice overall.
Free To Play Friendly (F2P Weapons) for On-Field DPS Varesa
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best F2P | Skyrider Sword | Get from Banners or NPC Dialogue Reward - A 3-star sword with an Energy Recharge secondary stat that you have easy access to if you continue to spend Wishes on Banners. - You can use this as a stop-gap measure until you're able to secure a better option for Xilonen. |
| 2nd | Flute of Ezpitzal | Natlan Forgeable (Craftable) Weapon - A DEF% secondary stat sword, which helps increase Xilonen's healing and personal DMG. - Passive also grants DEF% after using Skill, providing for a substantial increase in this stat overall. - No Energy-related buffs, so Xilonen may have a harder time accommodating her Burst every rotation if you don't compensate it with high ER rolls on her artifacts. |
For Free-to-Play options, you can get by using the 3-star weapon, Skyrider Sword, due to it's Energy Recharge secondary stat. But generally, any ER% or DEF sword will be serviceable until you're able to get a better weapon for Xilonen.
All Weapon ListXilonen Best Artifacts
Similar to her weapon options, Xilonen favors artifact sets that add more to what she offers to the team as a supportive character. See the recommendations below:
| Artifact | Recommendation Details |
|---|---|
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City | ★★★★★ - Being a character from Natlan, Xilonen can give teams access to the full 4-piece buff from this set, which is a hefty amount of DMG% for the Element that she Xilonen triggers a reaction with. - The 2-piece set also makes it easier for Xilonen to fully charge her Burst when she's with paired with other Natlan characters in a team. - DMG% isn't good for teams that can't make use of the buff, such as every Lunar Reaction teams. |
Instructor | ★★★・・ - In the event someone else in the party already has the Scroll set equipped, you can have Xilonen equip an alternate buffing set such as Instructor instead. - Provides Elemental Mastery after Xilonen triggers any reaction. └ This is especially good for certain reaction-based teams, such as Melt or Vaporize. |
Archaic Petra | ★★★・・ - Another alternative artifact choice if the Scroll set buff is already being triggered by a different Natlan character. - This set provides a similar DMG% bonus to all teammates, provided the equipping character picks up a Crystallize Shard or shield. - It's best to ensure the enemy has enough element applied to them before using Xilonen's Skill into Normal Attack (x2) combo in order to reliably get a Crystallize Shard. |
Noblesse Oblige | ★★★・・ - This set follows the same logic as the Instructor set wherein it can be a viable choice for Xilonen to use if Scroll is already equipped by another teammate, since two Scroll sets do not stack. - Gives an ATK buff after the holder uses their Burst, which means Xilonen would need more ER% rolls on her artifacts since this set doesn't help with Energy gain. |

Energy Recharge Is Still Important
While her Burst doesn't offer much apart from only healing the On-Field character, it's still recommended to have Xilonen built with enough Energy Recharge to use every rotation, especially on a team where she may be the only sustain option.
This doesn't have to be a focus in teams where she won't be using her Burst often however, such as in Arlecchino teams. But apart from ER%, having some DEF% rolls is also appreciated, but not necessary unless you have her Signature Weapon whose passive buff scales off of her DEF stat.

| Details | |||
| - As of the current version, Mavuika is considered among the best, if not the best, On-Field DPS in the game due to her high damage output potential, both at base and after executing optimized combos. - Xilonen is among her best pairings due to how easily her Skill into Normal Attack (x2) charges Mavuika's Fighting Spirit for her Burst. - Citlali is the main Cryo applicator and compounds Pyro RES shred alongside Xilonen's. - Bennett tops off the team with a generous ATK% buff and larger instances of healing that, when coupled with Xilonen's, results in a pretty strong sustain for the whole team. | |||
While Xilonen's slot in a Mavuika team has since been contested by a high constellation Iansan, it's still one of the more meta team comps in the game due to the damage base and ceiling. which very few more recent teams can really compete with.
Xilonen's synergy with the Pyro Archon goes beyond her RES shred, of course, since Xilonen is one of the few Natlan supports that can quickly charge up Mavuika's Fighting Spirit for her to use her Elemental Burst, which is where a majority of Mavuika's damage comes from.

Team Rotation of Xilonen and Combos
Basic Team Rotation for Off-Field Support Xilonen
| Basic Rotation For Off-Field Support Xilonen |
|---|
| 1. Start with the support with the longest ability durations, if there is any. Deploy their Skill and/or Burst accordingly. If there is an On-Field DPS that needs to use an ability at the start of the rotation, like Arlecchino, then ensure you do so. 2. Switch to Xilonen. Use her Skill, then Normal Attack (x2) to fill your Nightsoul Bar for the Elemental RES shred. 3. If you need to use Xilonen's Burst for healing or to activate an artifact set, do it here. 4. Swap to any support with shorter ability duration if there is any, use their preferred ability combo here. 5. On-Field your main DPS to deal damage with their primary combo. 6. Repeat from step 1 after all support abilities expire. |
Xilonen needs to do the Normal Attack (x2) part of her combo to activate her RES shred, but using her Burst is entirely optional, especially if the team you're using doesn't need the healing from it anyway.
Basics Of Using Xilonen

Xillonen's role in a team is to be the
Nightsoul Point Mechanics
All characters from Natlan integrate a special mechanic called Nightsoul points into their kit. After activating a certain ability or attack, a certain number of points are generated, indicated by a special bar beside the character.
Once the bar is filled, they enter a special state called Nightsoul Blessing and receive buffs that're unique to each character. For Xilonen, her Nightsoul Blessing state activates her Elemental RES shred for Pyro, Hydro, Electro and Cryo (PHEC) depending on the corresponding elements of her party members.
RES Shred Is Dependent on Teammates
Xilonen makes use of a resource called Source Samples to determine which element's resistance she'll shred. She will always start with a Geo sample active after her using her Skill. These samples will be converted into a Pyro, Hydro, Electro or Cryo (PHEC) sample depending on the elements of her teammates.
Xilonen can only shred the specific elemental RES that match the samples she activates, which happens after she fills her Nightsoul bar completely.
Use Skill and Normal Attack to Activate Shred

After Xilonen uses her Skill, she goes into Blade Roller mode and gains 45 Nightsoul points. One of her passives makes it so that, as long as she has at least 2 PHEC Source Samples, she can gain 35 points either through a Normal or Plunging Attack every 0.1 seconds. Her RES shred is triggered after restoring at least 90 Nightsoul points (full bar), which can be easily achieved by using her Skill and then doing two Normal Attacks in quick succession.
If she doesn't have 2 PHEC Source samples, the damage dealt by her Normal and Plunging Attacks are buffed instead.
Note! | Two teammates of the same element will result in two identical samples, e.g. if there are two Hydro characters in the team, Xilonen will have two Hydro source samples. |
|---|
Skill Can Be Used for Travel

Like most Natlan characters, Xilonen is also equipped with exploration mechanics that match her tribe's Saurian, the Tepetlisaur. She activates her Blade Roller mode or state after pressing her Skill, enhancing her movement and climbing speed, as well as enabling her to dash across walls or steep structures.
Her travel speed in this form is significantly faster than the base dashing in game. She's also able to perform long leaps while climbing, briefly transforming into an Ocelot as she does so.
Elemental Burst Is For Sustain or Sub-DPS
When Xilonen has at least 2 PHEC source samples, her Burst will take on a healing effect on the active character, which scales with her defense (DEF) stat. Conversely, if she has less than 2 PHEC source samples, the Burst will instead deal AoE Geo DMG based on her DEF. In teams where she is the primary source sustain, Xilonen will need to be built with enough Energy Recharge to use her Burst on demand.

A Top Class Support That Excels On Debuffing Enemies And Buffing Allies

Xilonen is a support that is able to debuff enemies, heal and buff teammates. She can easily inflict elemental shred debuff to enemies with elemental skill and has access toScroll Of The Hero Of Cinder City Set allowing her to be a competitive buffer to Kazuha.
| Things Xilonen Can Do |

| How To Activate Res. Shred? |

| 1. Put 2~3 Pyro / Cryo / Electro / Hydro characters in the team. (Same element is OK) 2. Use Elemental Skill to enter Nightsoul State. 3. Use Xilonen's Normal Attack 2 times. to recover Nightsoul Points. 4. Once the Samplers are active, the Resistance Shred debuff is active. |
While Xilonen is at Nightsoul State and maximizing the Nightsoul points will debuff the enemies around her. To maximize the Nightsoul Points, you need to have 2 or more Pyro / Cryo / Electro / Hydro and hit enemies with Xilonen's Normal Attack 2 times. So make sure to use Elemental Skill then two normal attacks.
Can Give A Maximum Of 3 Debuffs

Xilonen can shred a maximum of 3 Elements. Another good thing about this is it activates even after switching and does not consider the number of enemies making it an excellent damage booster. However to max Nightsoul Points which cannot be done when there are less than 2 Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo characters in the team. When not activated, only Geo Resistance shred will activate.
Elemental Burst Healing Is Excellent At Keeping The Team Alive
When you activate Elemental Burst when there are 2 or more Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo in the team, the on-field character will be continuously healed. The healing scales from Xilonen's DEF and has high scalings. The healing has multiple ticks allowing you to sustain the team easily. This allows Xilonen to be a debuffer and a healer for various teams.
Amazing With Natlan Characters Because Of Nightsoul Burst
| What Is Nightsoul Burst? | - Happens when there is a Natlan character in the team. - In itself, it does not have damage. - Shortens the cooldown when you have multiple Natlan characters. └1/2/3 characters is to 18s/12s/9s |
|---|---|
| Portable Armored Sheath | - When Nightoul Points is maxed, Nightsoul Burst will trigger once. └Activates every 14 seconds. - When Nightsoul Burst activate, Xilonen's DEF is increased by 20%. └Lasts for 15 seconds. |
Upon maxing out Xilonen's Nightsoul Points, a Nightsoul Burst will occur. This allows you to ignore the cooldown and additionally trigger Nightsoul Burst. This will greatly boost the damage of Natlan Characters which mostly get buff from the effect of Nightsoul Burst. This will also increase the Defense of Xilonen.
When There Is Only 1 Pyro / Cryo / Hydro / Electro Characters, Xilonen Can Be A Main DPS
When there are less than 1 Pyro / Cryo / Hydro / Electro on the field, the effect of Nightsoul Blessings and Nightsoul Burst focuses more on Xilonen's damage. Since Xilonen scales from DEF, she can be used in Geo comps with Gorou as a Main Attacker.
| Xilonen As An On-Field Attacker |
|---|
| ★ Elemental Skill & Nightsoul Blessing - Changes Normal / Plunging Attack to Geo. (DEF Scaling) - When there are less than 1 Pyro / Cryo / Hydro / Electro, Normal and Plunging Attack Damage + 30% - Geo Resistance Shred (When at Nightsoul State) |
| ★ Elemental Skill & Nightsoul Blessing - When there are less than 1 Pyro / Cryo / Hydro / Electro, additional Geo DMG will happen with the initial attack. └ The healing will not activate. |
Amazing At Climbing Valleys And Walls
While at Nightsoul State, Xilonen is able to climb walls and cliffs at a very high pace. This is a lot faster than Kirara or Kachina making Xilonen a valuable character for exploration.

C2 is a Good Stopping Point for Support Xilonen
Xilonen's C2 opens up her team options by allowing double geo teams to run her as a supportive unit, which isn't possible at C0. It also provides additional buffs to her party members based on their element, making it a strong constellation overall.

| ★★★★・ | C6: Auspicious Beast's Shape When Xilonen is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, when she sprints, leaps, or uses Normal or Plunging Attacks, she will gain Imperishable Night's Blessing, ignoring the limitations of her Nightsoul's Blessing state and increasing the DMG dealt by her Normal and Plunging Attacks for 5s. During this time: ・Her Nightsoul's Blessing time limit countdown will be paused. Xilonen's Nightsoul points, Phlogiston, and Stamina will not decrease, and when her Nightsoul points reach the maximum, her Nightsoul's Blessing state will not end either. ・Xilonen deals 300% of her DEF as increased Normal and Plunging Attack DMG while in the Nightsoul's Blessing state. ・She heals nearby party members for 120% of her DEF every 1.5s. ・She can gain 1 Imperishable Night's Blessing once every 15s. |

While Xilonen is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, the Geo Source Sample she carries will always be active. After unlocking her Passive Talent, "Netotiliztli's Echoes," Xilonen can trigger said Passive Talent's effects to regenerate Nightsoul points for herself. When her Nightsoul points hit the maximum, she will consume all her Nightsoul points and activate the 3 Source Samples she has on hand for 15s. When the Source Samples are active, nearby opponents' corresponding Elemental RES will decrease. Source Sample effects of the same Elemental Type cannot stack. Xilonen can trigger these effects even when off-field. |
