Chiori is a 5-star Geo character that wields a Sword in Genshin Impact. She is an off-field Geo damage dealer who summons automaton dolls with her Elemental Skill to attack nearby opponents. What Kind of Character is Chiori?
Chiori is an
Her DPS at C0 outside of her ideal Geo teams can be a little subpar when compared to other Off-Field Sub-DPSes. She also doesn't contribute much to a team apart from her damage. C1 allows her to gain two dolls and the damage boost without Geo Constructs, but it would cost more than simply getting other C0 meta supports like Escoffier or Furina.
Rate Chiori!
Basics Of Using Chiori
Chiori is a Geo character who deals damage mainly through her Tamoto Doll from her Elemental Skill. She fits best in teams with Geo Constructs to boost her dolls' damage. Her Skill has unique traits: reactivating it at the right moment lets you instantly switch to the next party member, and holding it allows you to blink to a selected spot, which helps with exploration.
Best with Other Geo Characters
Chiori's ability to deal damage regardless gives her the ability to be used in different teams, but she was designed to perform at her best when paired with other Geo characters, especially with the ones who can create a Geo Construct, like Zhongli with his pillar or Albedo with his flower. This is because one of her passives gives her 1 extra Tamoto Doll on the field while also increasing the damage they deal after a Geo party member deploys a Geo Construct.`
Burst is Optional
Chiori's Elemental Burst, "Hiyoku: Twin Blades", is a single instance of burst damage scaling off her ATK and DEF, however it isn't important to her total DPS and can be used every other rotation. It does have decent area of coverage but overall, it is recommended to only use her Elemental Burst whenever its available, so she doesn't need to have too many Energy Rechagre% stats on her artifacts.
Decent On-Field Geo DPS
Chiori also has the option to be played as the main DPS in a team, where you proceed to use Normal Attacks after pressing her skill. She won't be as competitive as other dedicated On-Field Geo DPSes like Arataki Itto and Navia, but it allows you to explore more playstyles with Chiori if you want to do so.
Roles & Playstyle of Chiori and Her Strengths and Weakness
Off-Field DPS Chiori
Chiori is designed to be an Off-Field Geo DPS where her damage is primarily from her Tamato Dolls, which are best paired with party members that create Geo constructs. Use her Elemental Skill to summon the Tamoto Dolls before swapping to your On-field DPS.
Pros and Cons of Off-Field DPS Chiori
Pros |
---|
- Core gameplay is easy to pickup. |
- Damage is competitive as an Off-Field DPS when paired with her ideal teammates. |
- Does not strictly need Constellations or her Signature Weapon to be good for pure Geo teams. |
Cons |
- DPS may be underwhelming without teammates who can make Geo constructs. |
- Her kit limitations make her less flexible and only the best choice in pure Geo teams. |
- Requires C1 to be usable outside of her ideal Geo teams. |
Best Build for Chiori
Chiori is a Geo Sub-DPS who prefers to be Off-Field and has a majority of her damage coming from her Elemental Skill constructs. She has clear artifact preferences regarding 4-piece sets according to what her kit wants to do. See below for the recommendations.

Stat Goals For Off-Field Chiori
DEF | 2000+ |
---|---|
Crit Rate | 70-80% or more |
Crit DMG | 140-160% or more |
Though Chiori scales with both DEF and ATK, stacking more Defense feels more impactful due to stronger DEF% scaling. Since she prefers Off-Field play, Golden Troupe is her best Artifact Set as it boosts Skill Damage, which her dolls rely on. You can also ignore Energy Recharge since her Burst doesn't do enough damage to justify less offensive stats.
Chiori can still use Golden Troupe while On-Field, and it's simpler to stick with one set. However, for optimal On-Field performance, consider farming Husk of Opulent Dreams. Though it deals less Off-Field damage than Golden Troupe, it remains competitive. Choose the domain that feels more worth your resin: Golden Troupe comes with Marechaussee Hunter, and Husk comes with Ocean-Hued Clam.

Best Weapon for Chiori
Chiori's Signature Weapon is a strong weapon with Crit as its main stat, and it also gives her everything she wants for her to perform well: Elemental Skill DMG and DEF increase.. It's also one of the many generalist weapons that can be used by a lot of sword characters that do damage with their Elemental Skill and Normal Attacks. Chiori can still make use of other stat-sticks, but there are clear outliers.
Premium Weapons for Chiori
Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
---|---|---|
Best | ![]() | Get from Limited Banner - All the bonuses given by the passive is very effective on Chiori. - Crit DMG main stat makes building Crit Rate easier. - One of the universal 5-star weapons that can be used by multiple Sword DPS characters. |
2nd | ![]() | Get from Limited Banner - Crit Rate main stat can make achieving an ideal 1:2 Ratio easier. - One of the universal 5-star weapons that can be used by multiple Sword DPS characters. - Gives HP% and ATK% based on the user's max HP, which is nice to have on Chiori but not super impactful. |
4th | ![]() ![]() | Get from Limited Banners - Other limited 5-star swords are usable as Crit stat sticks. - Perform similarly with small differences in damage. - Can be used if you have them and you can't use Harbinger of Dawn. |
5th | ![]() | Get from Battle Pass - Crit main stats makes balancing crit rate and damage easier. - May be underwhelming unless you fully refine it. - Becomes a viable option if Harbinger of Dawn is difficult to use with Chiori and her team. |
Uraku Misugiri is a viable pull-choice even if you don't have Chiori or just plan to get her in the future. But only consider pulling if you have funds to do so.
Free To Play Friendly (F2P Weapons) for Chiori
Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
---|---|---|
Best F2P | ![]() | Get From Banners or From Completing NPC Dialogue - A 3-Star sword that gives Crit provided you stay above 90% HP, which Off-Field Chiori can achieve easily. - Harder to do without a shielder or with Furina on the team due to her HP drain - Better at max refinement, which you can get if you keep pulling on Banners. |
2nd F2P (Event) | ![]() | Reward From Past Event (Shadows Amidst Snowstorms) - Provides a boost to Elemental Skill DMG based on DEF%. - Performance is as good as Harbinger of Dawn. - No longer obtainable if you weren't active during the event. |
For Free-to-Play options, Cinnabar Spindle is arguably going to be the best option overall. But because it was a reward for an event in Version 2.3, there are likely Travelers without this sword. For this reason, it's easier to say Harbinger of Dawn is going to edge out overall due to its ease of access. The lack of craftable swords with DEF lower Chiori's options, so if you do not have any of the above, you can instead opt for any Free-to-Play craftable sword meant for DPS characters.

- Chiori easily gets 2 Tamoto dolls in this team since they all have constructs, and their damage further increased. - Itto is the main DPS who you want to swap into with Chiori's Skill swap mechanic. - Gorou provides the DEF% buffs that both Itto and Chiori benefit from, and with C6 they also get Geo CRIT DMG. - Zhongli is the main sustain that has RES Shred for all elements. |
Chiori at C0 heavily favors this team since everything aligns with what her abilities want to happen. There are Geo Constructs, so she gets 2 Tamoto dolls with better damage. There's a DEF% Buffer, and a shielder who can shred Geo RES shred. Itto uses a lot Normal Attacks in Elemental Burst form, which allow her Tamoto dolls to trigger their coordinated attacks.

Elemental Skill, Burst and Abilities Guide for Chiori
How To Use Chiori Skills & Passives
- ▼Decent Off-Field Geo damage from her dolls.
- ▼Switches to another character and summon a Geo Construct.
- ▼Summons 2 Tamoto when there are nearby Geo constructs.
- ▼Double tap for ES → switch to next character.
- ▼Provides Geo Infusion with higher Constellations.
- ▼ Burst deals decent damage but is not necessary.
- ▼ Hold Skill can be used for exploration.
Decent Off-Field Geo Damage From Her Dolls
Basic Rotation Of Chiori |
---|
1. Swap to other supports before Chiori and use their skills, preferably to summon Geo constructs. 2. Swap to Chiori and use her Elemental Skill to summon the Tamoto Dolls 3. With her Ascension Passive, use Elemental Skill again to immediately swap to the next party member on your team, ideally your On-Field DPS, for the Tamato Dolls to perform coordinated Attacks 4. Use her Elemental Burst if available. 5 .Repeat from number 1. |
Chiori is able to provide constant and powerful Geo damage while being Off-Field with her Elemental Skill that summons the Tamoto Dolls. Her Ascension Passive, "Tailor-Made", allows the dolls to perform coordinated Geo attacks with your On-Field DPS whenever they attack.
Switches To Another Character Before Summon Her Dolls
The Tamoto dolls periodically deal Geo DMG to enemies. If there is/are any Geo Structures in the area, Chiori will summon 2 dolls instead, effectively doubling her damage.
Elemental Skill Summary |
---|
・Her Elemental Skill will make a slash attack and simultaneously summon Tamoto (duration 17s) ・Long press for dash direction. ・Tamoto inflicts DMG to nearby enemies for every 3.6s. ・Deals AoE Geo DMG based on Chiori's ATK and DEF. ・Summons 2 Tamoto whenever there is a Geo construct on-field. |
Summons 2 Tamoto When There Is A Geo Constructs Nearby
During Chiori's Elemental Skill, she will summon one (1) Tamoto doll, and if ever there are another geo constructs that is/are on-field, Chiori's Tamoto dolls will increase from 1 → 2 dolls on the field.
Double Tap Elemental Skill To Switch To Next Character & Create Coordinated Attack
After using Elemental Skill, you can tap the button again to switch to the next character. After switching, there will be a coordinated attack that triggers on Charged, Normal and Plunge Attacks at the enemy location. This will greatly boost the power of her Elemental Skill, so using this frequently is recommended.
Skill Summary |
---|
Fluttering Hasode ・Elemental Skill ・After ES quickly change to another character ・Coordinated attack can be unleashed for every 2s ・Elemental Skill → Normal Attack |
Provides Geo Infusion For 5s But It Is Mostly For High Constellations
After using Elemental Skill, Chiori will have 5 Seconds of Geo Infusion. This is mostly not used because of her weak Normal Attack scaling and Pre-C6, Chiori's Normal Attack only scales from ATK. Since Chiori is usually built with DEF, the DPS from On-Field Chiori isn't very high. Think of it as a bonus effect instead.

▲Chiori benefits more from C6 Gorou.
The Elemental Skill damage uses buffs it receives in real-time. Because of this, on-field buffs like Gorou's Elemental Skill does not work with it. If you want to buff Chiori's DMG use characters that buff the whole party like Furina.
Burst Deals Decent Damage But Is Not Necessary
Chiori’s Elemental Burst is a simple damage-dealing ability that scales off both her ATK and DEF. It has low Energy cost and can deal decent damage with the right build, but it’s not strong enough to justify stacking Energy Recharge. Use it when it’s up, but prioritize artifact stats that help her hit her main goals.
Hold Skill Can Be Used for Exploration
Holding Chiori's Skill allows her to aim in a direction where she will do the initial slash. This can be used to close distances against enemies or in exploration to move forward or to reach high places.
Should You Pull for Chiori's Constellation Or Best Weapon?
Choice Depends on Preference
Recommendation for Navia or Noelle Teams |
---|
C1 > ![]() |
C1 is Good for Geo Teams Without Constructs
Notably, Chiori's C1 provides an additional doll provided she's in a team with another Geo party member while also allowing her "The Finishing Touch" passive to trigger just by activating her burst. This matters a lot for teams with Geo carries that do not have Geo constructs, such as Navia and Noelle teams, since the "The Finishing Touch" without C1 only triggers when a Geo construct is on the field. With the extra doll contributing a fair amount to the team's total damage and the ability to now have all her passives active in these teams makes for a convincing pull option if you want to have Chiori with Navia or Noelle.
Recommendation for Itto or Other Carry Teams |
---|
![]() |
C1 Won't Work with Geo Constructs
Conversely, Chiori's C1 does not give any benefit to Geo teams that do have constructs, such as Itto or Albedo teams, and will also not work in teams where she's the only Geo character. If you still want to vertically invest in Chiori but do not want to use her with Navia or Noelle, consider getting Uraku Misugiri instead. Her Signature Weapon will still be a noticeable upgrade to her 4-star alternatives, and is slightly better than other 5-star crit swords.
Uraku Misugiri Is the Best Generalist Sword
In addition to being Chiori's best in slot, the Uraku Misugiri is considered the best among the universal sword options due to having the highest Crit DMG substat in return for less base Attack and an unconditional damage bonus in its passive. The other half of its passive is an unconditional Normal Attack and Elemental Skill DMG bonus, and the boost is significantly increased provided you have a Geo character on the team.
The introduction of Xilonen who is the ideal support for a noticeable amount of teams makes it so that the full passive of Uraku Misugiri is easily triggered. But even without a Geo character, the unconditional buff it gives is appreciated by the majority of sword characters that want to deal damage. Consider getting Chiori's Signature Weapon for the versatility of use, especially if you do not own a generalist sword in the first place.

Rating | Constellation Effect |

★★★★★ | C1: Six Paths Of Sage Silkcraft The AoE of the automaton doll "Sode" summoned by Fluttering Hasode is increased by 50%. Additionally, if there is a Geo party member other than Chiori, Fluttering Hasode will trigger the following after the dash is completed: ・Summon an additional Sode. Only one additional Sode can exist at the same time, whether summoned by Chiori this way or through the presence of a Geo Construct. ・Triggers the Passive Talent "The Finishing Touch." This effect requires you to first unlock the Passive Talent "The Finishing Touch." |
★★★★・ | C2: In Five Colors Dyed For 10s after using Hiyoku: Twin Blades, a simplified automaton doll, "Kinu," will be summoned next to your active character every 3s. Kinu will attack nearby opponents, dealing AoE Geo DMG equivalent to 170% of Sode's DMG. DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG. Kinu will leave the field after 1 attack or after lasting 3s. |
★★★・・ | C3: Four Brocade Embellishments Increases the Level of Fluttering Hasode by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
★★★・・ | C4: A Tailor's Three Courtesies For 8s after triggering either follow-up effect of the Passive Talent "Tailor-Made," when your current active character's Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks hit a nearby opponent, a simplified automaton doll, "Kinu," will be summoned near this opponent. You can summon 1 Kinu every 1s in this way, and up to 3 Kinu may be summoned this way during each instance of "Tailor-Made"'s Seize the Moment or Tailoring effect. The above effect can be triggered up to once every 15s. Must unlock the Passive Talent "Tailor-Made" first. |
★・・・・ | C5: Two Silken Plumules Increases the Level of Hiyoku: Twin Blades by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
★★★★・ | C6: Sole Principle Pursuit After triggering a follow-up effect of the Passive Talent "Tailor-Made," Chiori's own Fluttering Hasode's CD is decreased by 12s.
