Cryo Traveler is a 5-star Cryo Sword user in Genshin Impact. Their Elemental Skill allows them to switch between two modes: Stellar-Conduct for on-field DPS, and Stellar-Swirl for off-field Cryo application. Their Elemental Burst is a powerful attack that is effective in either mode.
Cryo Traveler can enable both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl.

Cryo Traveler's Roles, Playstyle, Strengths, and Weaknesses

On-Field Stellar-Conduct DPS
The Cryo Traveler is one of the few characters that can convert Superconduct into Stellar-Conduct. And once they enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state, the Cryo Traveler becomes a capable On-Field DPS that deals direct Stellar-Conduct DMG through their Burst and special Charged Attack.
Their Skill in a Stellar-Conduct team only applies and deals Cryo DMG whenever the Traveler hits an enemy with their Normal, Charged and Plunging attacks.
Pros and Cons of On-Field Stellar-Conduct DPS Cryo Traveler
| Pros |
|---|
| - An F2P Stellar-Conduct DPS that is fairly competitive with a few other meta DPSes. |
| - The free Exaiphanes Blade that you get from progressing through the Snezhnaya Archon Quest is a sizeable increase to their DPS. |
| - Allows you to play and experience both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl mechanics and teams. |
| - Each element you resonate with gives your Traveler an extra stat boost. |
| Cons |
| - Less effective than Odette in Stellar-Conduct teams due to having no Off-Field capabilities in that setup. |
| - Requires you to unlock Snezhnaya first. |
| - Some resonated elements, like Pyro, are gated behind Archon Quest progression. |
Off-Field Stellar Swirl Support
The Cryo Traveler can also convert Cryo Swirl into the only other Stellar Glimmer reaction, called Stellar Swirl. Since the Traveler isn't in the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state in a Stellar Swirl team, their Elemental Skill will instead deal Off-Field Cryo DMG intermittently without the need for the Traveler to attack enemies.
This allows them to take on a more supportive or utility-based role in Stellar Swirl teams, primarily as a Cryo applicator for an On-Field Anemo DPS like Mizuki.
Pros and Cons of Off-Field Stellar Swirl Support DPS Cryo Traveler
| Pros |
|---|
| - A F2P Stellar Swirl enabler whose select teams are fairly competitive with other meta teams. |
| - The free Exaiphanes Blade that you get from progressing through the Snezhnaya Archon Quest is a sizeable increase to their personal damage, even when they're Off-Field. |
| - Allows you to play and experience both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl mechanics and teams. |
| - Each element you resonate with gives your Traveler an extra stat boost. |
| Cons |
| - No F2P option for the On-Field DPS that can deal direct Stellar Swirl DMG unless you chose to get Mizuki from the Anniversary Selector. |
| - Requires you to unlock Snezhnaya first. |
| - Some resonated elements, like Pyro, are gated behind Archon Quest progression. |
Best Build for Cryo Traveler
Cryo Traveler's ideal builds will depend on the team comp and the role that you want the Traveler to fill in said team. See below for our top recommendations:
Build Cryo Traveler as a Damage Dealer

|---|---|
| Best Artifact | Disenchantment in Deep Shadow x4 |

|---|---|
| CRIT DMG | 200%+ |
| ATK | 2,000+ |
| Energy Recharge | 100%-120% with C1 and the Exaiphanes Blade |
Cryo Traveler's stat goals are similar to those of a traditional DPS that wants a balanced CRIT Rate to DMG ratio. Try to aim for around 2,000 ATK or more for better damage potential and to maximize the damage bonus from their Stellar Jubilee passive. However, this is fairly easy to achieve with all the outside sources of ATK buffs that Traveler gets for free (though some require you to have resonated with all the available elements).
Once you get Cryo Traveler's Constellation 1 and the Exaiphanes Blade, their Energy requirements are low enough for you to prioritize offensive sub-stats like CRIT instead.

Best Weapon for Cryo Traveler
As a DPS, Cryo Traveler works best with CRIT weapons that also boost their ATK or Stellar Glimmer DMG. See below for our top recommendations:
Premium Weapons for Cryo Traveler
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best (Quest) | Exaiphanes Blade | Obtain from Archon Quest - The best general-use weapon for the Traveler that you can obtain after finishing a certain sub-quest in the Snezhnaya Archon Quest. - Greatly increases CRIT Stats and ATK, and also provides Energy. - This weapon allows for consistent Elemental Burst uptime even with base Energy Recharge. |
| 2nd | Whitelake Frostfeather | Get from Limited Banner - A CRIT Rate main-stat sword with an ATK% and CRIT DMG boost to any Stellar Glimmer DMG dealt by the equipping character. - Also has an additional flat energy regen effect after triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction. - The Traveler can easily benefit from and maintain the passive of the sword in both their Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl modes. - A decent alternative to the Exaiphanes Blade if you are unable to obtain it at the moment. |
| 4th | Absolution Primordial Jade Cutter Azurelight Athame Artis | Get from Limited Banners - CRIT main-stat swords with ATK% or CRIT increases included in their passives will be at most usable on the Cryo Traveler if no one else on your account is using them, especially ones with high base ATK. |
| 5th | Light of Foliar Incision Uraku Misugiri Mistsplitter Reforged | Get from Limited Banners - Other CRIT swords with generic DMG% increases on the passive will be less appealing for the Cryo Traveler since Stellar Glimmer DMG is only affected by a specific type of DMG% buff (which is simply any Stellar DMG%). - These weapons can function as stat-sticks until you obtain the Exaiphanes Blade. |
Note! | Any effect that increases DMG will not buff the Cryo Traveler unless it is specified as "Stellar DMG%". This is due to the distinct damage formula used when calculating Stellar Glimmer DMG dealt by both direct sources and reactions. |
|---|
The Cryo Traveler's best weapon overall is the Exaiphanes Blade, outperforming even limited 5-star weapons due to the Traveler-specific passive. You will want to secure the sword once you can, but if your Archon Quest progress is significantly behind, you can make do with any offensive CRIT weapon, preferably with a high base ATK% or an ATK% increase on the passive.
Free-to-Play Friendly (F2P Weapons) for Cryo Traveler
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best F2P (Quest) | Exaiphanes Blade | Obtain from Archon Quest - The best general-use weapon for the Traveler that you can obtain after finishing a certain sub-quest in the Snezhnaya Archon Quest. - Greatly increases CRIT Stats and ATK, and also provides Energy. - This weapon allows for consistent Elemental Burst uptime even with base Energy Recharge. |
| 2nd (Forge) | Emberwell | Snezhnaya Craftable (Forgeable) Weapon - A craftable sword that boosts both ATK% and Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG% after the equipping character triggers any reaction. - The second best option F2P option to Exaiphanes Blade, assuming you get the recipe first. - A serviceable temporary weapon for the Cryo Traveler if you want to use them immediately and haven't progressed through the Snezhnaya Archon Quest yet. - No need to add refinement levels since this sword should only be a temporary option until you can get the Exaiphanes Blade. |
| 3rd (Forge) | Finale of the Deep | Fontaine Craftable (Forgeable) Weapon - A craftable ATK main-stat sword with a passive that gives even more ATK. - Simply including a healer on the Cryo Traveler's team lets them gain the full buff from the passive. - No need to add refinement levels since this sword should only be a temporary option until you can get the Exaiphanes Blade. |
For Free-to-Play options, the Exaiphanes Blade should still be your go-to option for both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl Cryo Traveler. However, whatever ATK% sword you have on hand is usable if you have yet to progress through the Archon Quest.
All Weapon ListCryo Traveler Best Artifacts
As a character who can be used as a Stellar-Conduct DPS or Stellar-Swirl Sub-DPS, the Cryo Traveler's preferred Artifact set differs for each role. See below for our top recommendations:
| Artifact | Recommendation Details |
|---|---|
Disenchantment in Deep Shadow | - Best artifact set for buffing ATK and Stellar-Conduct DMG dealt by the Traveler. - Provides a substantial amount of extra CRIT Rate to attacks made by equipping character on enemies affected by Stellar-Conduct and Superconduct, so it's easier to hit a good CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG Ratio with this set if you want to use Cryo Traveler as the On-Field DPS. |
Heart of the Furnace | - Every Stellar Glimmer team needs one party member with this set equipped. Since you can use Traveler as a Stellar Glimmer reaction enabler, you can have them use this instead to buff an On-Field DPS that cannot trigger Stellar-Conduct by themselves, such as Wriothesley or Cyno. - The Stellar Glimmer DMG% on the 4-piece effect is teamwide, so the Traveler's DPS isn't entirely hindered with this set. └ Note that in Stellar-Conduct teams, the Traveler's usefulness in an Off-Field setting is decreased since their Skill in these comps requires them to use Normal/Charged Attacks. |
Noblesse Oblige | - If someone else on the team already has Heart of the Furnace equipped, this will be the next best option for Cryo Traveler in Stellar-Conduct teams where they aren't the On-Field DPS. - Remember to use their Burst to activate the teamwide ATK% buff. |
2-piece Elemental Mastery (EM) 2-piece ATK% | - Any mixed sets that pair the stats that benefit Cryo Traveler the most can function as decent transitional sets, especially for new players who do not yet have access to her other options. - Aside from the two sets listed here, you can mix and match 2-piece set effects while farming for a full 4-piece set. - The setup is not strict, and you can also use any combination of Elemental Mastery and ATK% 2-piece set artifacts. - ATK% is slightly more favored than Elemental Mastery (EM). |
| Artifact | Recommendation Details |
|---|---|
Heart of the Furnace | - Cryo Traveler in Stellar Swirl teams is more effective from an Off-Field position since their Skill will now deal and apply relevant Cryo DMG even without the Traveler's Normal or Charged Attacks. - If no one else on the team has this set equipped, this will be their best option so they can buff the DMG dealt by the On-Field DPS (who will ideally be using the Scarlet Proof set). |
Tenacity of the Millelith | - If someone else on the team already has Heart of the Furnace equipped, this will be the next best option for Cryo Traveler in Stellar-Conduct teams where they aren't the On-Field DPS. - The Traveler's Skill in a Stellar Swirl team has decent enough uptime on its Off-Field hits to maintain the 4-piece effect's ATK buff. |

Focus On Damage
Cryo Traveler's build should prioritize offensive stats like CRIT, ATK, and Elemental Mastery, but you should also ensure they have enough Energy Recharge (ER) to use their Elemental Burst every rotation consistently. Cryo Traveler will need slightly more ER in a Stellar Swirl team due to being Off-Field for longer.
Their Energy requirements are significantly lowered by Cryo Traveler's first Constellation (C1) and the Energy regen given by the Exaiphanes Blade.

Basics of Using Cryo Traveler (Beginner Guide)

Stellar Glimmer Enabler and DPS
While they do not have a Stellar Linchpin, Cryo Traveler can still enable the conversion of Superconduct and Cryo Swirl into their respective Stellar Glimmer variants, and like other Stellar Linchpin holders, some of their attacks and abilities deal direct Stellar Glimmer DMG.
Note! | With the introduction of Stellar Swirl, everything related to the Stellar reactions, including the damage they deal, is collectively called Stellar Glimmer. |
|---|
Enter Radiance States Through Stellar Reactions
Stellar Glimmer Reaction Effect| Stellar Conduct | |
|---|---|
Cryo + Electro | When Stellar-Conduct is triggered, it places a star-like construct called a Starlight Prism on the ground. The Prism then causes a certain area around it to become a Polestar Field. So long as the active character remains within this field, Odette and her other teammates will be in the Radiance: Stellar state that corresponds to the triggered reaction. |
| Stellar Swirl | |
Cryo + Anemo | When Stellar Swirl is triggered, it creates a Stellar Vortex near the affected enemy. The Vortex will explode, dealing Cryo DMG, at a set interval. Every time the Stellar Swirl happens, the level and damage of the Vortex and its ensuing explosion is increased. Triggering the reaction the first time also causes the party to enter the Radiance: Stellar Swirl state. |
The additional bonuses or enabled abilities granted by the Radiance state vary from character to character. For Cryo Traveler, their current Radiance state determines the attack pattern of their Elemental Skill and subsequently their entire playstyle.
Elemental Skill Creates a Frostpierce Star

▲ The Frostpierce Star follows the active character.
The Cryo Traveler's main source of Cryo application is through their Elemental Skill. Upon cast, this ability summons an object called the Frostpierce Star. The Star's attacks and the Traveler's core combo will change depending on the party's Radiance state.
| State | Frostpierce Star Behavior |
|---|---|
| Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: | The Frostpierce Star will fire coordinated attacks every time the Traveler hits an enemy target with their Normal, Charged or Plunging Attack. |
| Radiance: Stellar Swirl or no state | The Frostpierce Star will attack nearby enemies by itself at a set interval. |
Gain Frostglow From Skill and Special Charged Attack

▲ The Frostpierce Star can indicate how many Frostglow stacks you currently have by the number of lit star points.
The Cryo Traveler has two stacking resources, and one of them is called Frostglow. The first method of gaining stacks of this is by letting the Frostpierce Star fire and hit an enemy target. Frostglow has an upper limit of eight (8) stacks.
The second method is tied to their fourth passive through their special Charged Attack, Freezing Ice, that is activated after the party deals three (3) instances of Stellar Glimmer DMG. Using the Charged Attack: Freezing Ice against enemies rewards the Traveler with 2 stacks ofFrostglow.
Burst Consumes Frostglow Stacks

After activating the ability, the Cryo Traveler's Elemental Burst manifests as a long ice javelin that they will direct at nearby enemies. Their Frostglow stacks are what allow the Cryo Traveler's Elemental Burst to be their strongest attack in terms of DPS, since these stacks directly boost the damage dealt by the javelin.
Additionally, if the Traveler's Burst consumes the max number of stacks, the number of strikes that the Burst attacks with increases from three (3) to five (5), thereby elevating its DPS even further.
Note! | The Cryo Traveler's Elemental Burst will deal Stellar Glimmer DMG that corresponds to their current active Radiance state. |
|---|
Stack Icepoint through Stellar Glimmer DMG
The other resource that the Cryo Traveler gains in combat is called Icepoint. These stacks are generated from any Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl DMG either dealt or triggered by the Traveler and/or their teammates. Each instance of Stellar Glimmer DMG gives the Traveler one (1) stack of Icepoint.
Three Icepoint Stacks Unlock Special Charged Attack
The Traveler will be able to use their special Charged Attack after stacking a total of three (3) Icepoint. Freezing Ice is a decent damage ability overall since it can deal direct Stellar Glimmer DMG according to the Traveler's Radiance state, and will often be used in the Cryo Traveler's Stellar-Conduct teams that encourage the usage of their Normal and Charged Attacks already.
Resonated Elements Increase Traveler's Base Stats

The passive that grants Cryo Traveler their special Charged Attack also has an effect that buffs a selected base stat according to the Elements that your Traveler has resonated with. This makes it so that Cryo Traveler is significantly stronger after you've completed and/or explored the majority of the available nations.

How To Use Cryo Traveler's Skills & Passives?
- ▼Stellar Glimmer DPS with two playstyles.
- ▼Convert Reactions to Stellar Reactions.
- ▼Create a Frostpierce Star with Skill.
- ▼Radiance state dictates Frostpierce Star attacks.
- ▼Burst consumes Frostglow stacks.
- ▼Special Charged Attack deals Stellar Conduct DMG.
- ▼Ascension passives grant nice additional bonuses.
Stellar Glimmer DPS With Two Playstyles
| Basic Rotation Of Cryo Traveler |
|---|
| 1. Begin the rotation with the other supports first, ideally starting with the supports that have longer ability durations, then shorter durations in order to maximize buff uptime. 2. Swap to Cryo Traveler. └ Stellar-Conduct: Deploy their Skill first, then keep attacking enemy with Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks. └ Stellar Swirl: Deploy their Skill, then use one Charged Attack, this will ideally be the special Charged Attack. 3. Use Elemental Burst. You'll ideally want to do this once the Frostpierce Star is fully lit, indicating 8 Frostglow stacks. └ Stellar Swirl: Its fine if the first rotation does not give you full stacks. 4. Action depends on team comp: └ Stellar-Conduct: Repeat from Step 1. └ Stellar Swirl: Swap to other supports with shorter ability durations if there are any. Then switch to your On-Field DPS to execute their damage combo. Repeat from Step 1 once you're done with said combo. |
The Cryo Traveler is designed to function at their best in Stellar Glimmer comps, where their gameplay and mechanics depend on the type of Stellar Glimmer reaction that their team is built around.
Despite not having a Stellar Linchpin, they not only enable the said reactions, but also deal direct Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl DMG through their Elemental Burst and special Charged Attack.

| When Stellar-Conduct is triggered, the surrounding area will transform into a Polestar Field for a short period of time, and when inside a Polestar Field, certain characters will enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state, which grants various skill buffs. |
| Stellar Vortex Description |
|---|
![]() |
| When Anemo meets Cryo, and certain other conditions are met, a special Stellar Swirl reaction is triggered. This deals an instance of Anemo DMG to the opponent and generates a Stellar Vortex. Triggering Stellar Swirl multiple times raises the level of the Stellar Vortex, which explodes after a certain time or after a certain number of Stellar Swirl reactions have been triggered. This deals AoE Cryo DMG to nearby opponents. The aforementioned DMG can CRIT. |
| Up to one Stellar Vortex can exist on the field within a certain range. A Stellar Vortex on the field will level up to Lv. 2 after a certain number of Stellar Swirl reactions have been triggered. A higher-level Vortex deals more AoE Cryo DMG to opponents over a wider area when it explodes. After a Stellar Swirl reaction is triggered, certain nearby characters will also enter the Radiance: Stellar Swirl effect for 8s, which enhances certain Talents and skill effects. Certain characters can use their Talents to deal Stellar Swirl reaction DMG to opponents. This DMG can trigger CRIT Hits. |
| When the Stellar Vortex explodes, it will also grant nearby characters the ability to jump higher once, for a short time. |
| Elements | Reactions |
|---|---|
Cryo + Electro | Base Reaction |
- Deals AoE Cryo DMG - Reduces Physical RES of enemies affected by the reaction. | |
| Stellar Version | |
- Creates a ▲ Polestar Field and grants Cryo and Electro DMG bonus to everyone inside. - Starlight Prism at the center of the field will store energy generated by Cryo and Electro hits, later increasing the DMG buff and the base damage dealt by Stellar-Conduct based on the stored energy. - The "stored energy" is shown by a stacking number above the active character's HP bar. - Reduces Physical RES of enemies affected by the reaction. - Party enters the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state. | |
Cryo + Anemo | Base Reaction |
- Deals Cryo DMG to enemies in an AoE, but will only deal Anemo DMG to the enemy the reaction is triggered on. - Swirled element can be used to trigger other reactions such as Freeze. | |
| Stellar Version | |
- Creates a ▲ Stellar Vortex that will deal damage intermittently before exploding. - Triggering multiple Stellar Swirls will increase the Vortex's size, level, and explosion DMG. - Party enters Radiance: Stellar Swirl state after triggering the reaction. - Character jump height is briefly increased after the Vortex explodes. |
Like other Stellar Linchpin holders, the Cryo Traveler transforms certain reactions into their Stellar form after the necessary Elements are applied to an enemy. Each Stellar Reaction has different effects, but both have specific Radiance states tied to them. Cryo Traveler and their party members will enter these states after the corresponding Stellar reaction is triggered.
Additionally, Cryo Traveler's Stellar Jubilee passive also shares a similar feature with Odette's, which increases the base damage of Stellar Reactions according to the Traveler's primary scaling stat, which is ATK%. To max this passive, the Traveler would need to have at least 2,000 ATK, and this is easily achieved through their weapon and ATK% main-stat Artifacts.
Note! | Stellar-Conduct follows the same formula trends as Lunar Reactions. The only DMG% buffs that boost it are those labeled as "Stellar DMG%". This means that items like Elemental goblets or passives that grant Burst DMG% are suboptimal for Cryo Traveler. |
|---|
Create a Frostpierce Star with Skill
Elemental Skill Summary
| Icon | Elemental Skill Summary |
|---|---|
Ice Fog Piercer | - Stabs forward with the Traveler's weapon. - Releases an ice-cold fog that deals Cryo DMG to opponents ahead. - Summons a Frostpierce Star next to the Traveler. Frostpierce Star - Follows your party members around the field. - Normally fires ice crystals at nearby opponents at intervals, dealing Cryo DMG. ⯁Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: - No longer fires ice crystals at intervals. - Instead, fires an ice crystal in a coordinated attack when the Traveler's Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack hits an opponent. - This effect can trigger once every 0.2s. |
| Icon | Frostglow Stack Summary |
|---|---|
Frostglow Stack | Gained when: - An ice crystal from Frostpierce Star hits an opponent; or - The Traveler unleashes Charged Attack: Freezing Ice (special Charged Attack) after unlocking ▼Foreign Permafrost. - Maximum 8 stacks. - ▼Frostbound Javelin consumes all Frostglow stacks to increase its DMG. - If 8 stacks are consumed, the number of Elemental Burst strikes is also increased. |
The Cryo Traveler's Elemental Skill is what creates the Frostpierce Star, which manifests an eight-pointed star-like object beside the active character. Whenever the Star hits an enemy, the Traveler gains a stack of Frostglow, and this is one of two important resources that they have to generate and maintain to deal direct Stellar Glimmer DMG.
Note! | Each point or vertex on the Frostpierce Star lights up once a stack of Frostglow is gained. A fully lit Star means you've reached the maximum amount of stacks. |
|---|
Radiance State Dictates Frostpierce Star Attacks
As stated in their ▲Stellar Jubilee passive, the Cryo Traveler (and other teammates) will enter a specific Radiance state after triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction. The Frostpierce Star's attack patterns and mechanics change depending on the Traveler's current Radiance state.
In summary, Cryo Traveler in a Stellar-Conduct team needs to hit enemies with their Normal, Charged or Plunging Attacks before the Star will release a coordinated attack against the target. This encourages the Traveler to be played like an On-Field DPS to build ▲Frostglow stacks.
If the Traveler is in a Stellar Swirl team, the Star will start firing ice crystals independently, allowing the Traveler to take an Off-Field role instead.
Note! | The attacks made by the Frostpierce Star aren't considered Stellar Glimmer DMG, so it can be kept at a low Talent level. |

Burst Consumes Frostglow Stacks
Elemental Burst Summary
| Icon | Elemental Burst Summary |
|---|---|
Frostbound Javelin | - Generates an ice javelin infused with Cryo. - Directs the javelin toward opponents. - Deals multiple instances of Cryo DMG. - Consumes all existing ▲Frostglow stacks. - Increases the Elemental Burst DMG based on the number of Frostglow stacks consumed. - When 8 Frostglow stacks are consumed: - Increases the number of DMG instances dealt by the javelins. ⯁Radiance: Stellar Glimmer: - Changes the current Elemental Burst's DMG to Cryo DMG of the corresponding Stellar Glimmer reaction type. |
Cryo Traveler on has two abilities that deal direct Stellar Glimmer DMG: their Elemental Burst and their a ▼special Charged Attack, so these are naturally going to be the Traveler's hardest-hitting moves. Notably, their Burst makes up a significant portion of their overall DPS thanks to the DMG% bonus and extra hits it gains from consuming the Traveler's ▲Frostglow stacks.

Special Charged Attack Deals Stellar Conduct DMG
Special Traveler Passive Summary
| Icon | Special Traveler Passive Summary |
|---|---|
Foreign Permafrost | - Every Elemental Type the Traveler has resonated with grants an additional ▼enhancement effect. Icepoint When a nearby party member deals Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl DMG: - Traveler gains 1 stack of Icepoint. - Can gain 1 stack every 2s. - Maximum 3 stacks. At 3 stacks: - The Traveler's next Charged Attack consumes all Icepoint stacks. - Converts it into Charged Attack: Freezing Ice. Charged Attack: Freezing Ice - Increases Cryo DMG dealt by 140% of the Traveler's ATK. - Grants 2 stacks of ▲Frostglow. - Can be unleashed once every 15s. - The DMG Bonus from ▼Ever-Keen Forst (Ascension 1 Passive) does not apply to this attack. ⯁Radiance: Stellar Glimmer - DMG from Charged Attack: Freezing Ice is instead considered Cryo DMG of the corresponding Stellar Glimmer reaction type. |
After completing the Song of the Welkin Moon: Act 8 - True Moon, the Traveler will gain a new passive that gives a special Charged Attack that changes depending on their resonated Element. For Cryo Traveler, their special Charged Attack can be used after gaining enough Icepoint stacks, which are generated every time the party deals Stellar Glimmer DMG.
A key factor of this passive is the additional base stat boosts for every Element that your Traveler has unlocked. Though they may seem unimpressive individually, unlocking all of them compounds into a decent upgrade for the Traveler's combat performance.
Note! | It is recommended to go through all the Archon and Song of Welkin Moon Quests to gain access to this ability, for both the stat boosts and the special Charged Attack, since this is the Cryo Traveler's second major source of damage overall. |

Ascension Passives Grant Nice Additional Bonuses
Ascension 1 Passive Description| Icon | Ascension 1 Passive Description |
|---|---|
Ever-Keen Frost | ⯁Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: When a▲ Frostpierce Star is on the field, DMG from the Traveler's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks are converted to Cryo DMG that cannot be overridden by another elemental infusion, and DMG dealt is also increased by 80% of the Traveler's ATK. |
| Icon | Ascension 4 Passive Description |
|---|---|
Lucent Ice | The Traveler's Elemental Mastery is increased by 8% of their ATK. Up to 160 Elemental Mastery can be gained in this way. |
The Ascension Passives that Cryo Traveler has mostly boil down to small but appreciated increases or bonuses. Their Ascension 1 (A1) Passive, which is only active in Stellar-Conduct teams, gives them a Cryo Infusion that can help apply their Element consistently and rapidly.
While these infused attacks won't really contribute as much to their DPS, it helps meet and maintain the optimal amount of Cryo hits (or stacks) needed by the ▲Stellar Prism to fully buff the base reaction coefficient of Stellar-Conduct.
Their Ascension 4 (A4) Passive is a simple EM buff that allows you more leeway for other offensive stats on their Artifacts, like CRIT or ATK, instead of actively chasing high EM sub-stats.
