The Onikabuto is a strange beetle that inhabits areas rich with Electro energy. Its docile and sedentary temperament could not be more different from the fierce, demonic visage displayed on its armored shell. Onikabuto beetles are often found lounging on trees where Travelers can easily spot and catch them.

Onikabuto Locations
Onikabuto Can be Found in Select Locations Across Inazuma
Onikabuto are found in areas with high Electro concentration. In Narukami Island, this pertains to the Grand Narukami Shrine and Mt. Yougou, with some singular or small groups found on trees, rocks or in underground caves across various parts of the island.
In Seirai Island, a few can be found towards the Southwest portion of Amakumo Peak, specifically on tree trunks.
In Yashiori Island, the Onikabuto are plentiful near the cliffs of Tatarasuna and close to the Mikage Furnace. A few handfuls will be at Kujou Encampment towards the Northwest. There will also be some scattered around the gorge near Higi Village and Musoujin Gorge, around Serpent's Head, and somewhere around Jakotsu Mine.
Each bug icon on the map yields 1 Onikabuto.

Utilize Farming Route for Onikabuto
Onikabuto can be found across Inazuma, but they are not grouped into a single location. Going to each collection area one-by-one to gather them may be inefficient. It is recommended to utilize the Farming Route for a faster and more efficient farming.
Use Characters with Exploration Utility Passive
For easier Farming, it is recommended to use characters that reveals the location of Specialties in Inazuma. By just putting them in your team, the locations of Onikabuto will be shown in your mini-map which makes farming for the item easier.
The character passive that shows specialties in the mini-map shows all of the specialties in the location. This is not limited to Onikabuto.
Onikabuto Respawn every 48 Hours
After getting the Onikabuto in your world, they will only respawn after 48 hours or 2 Server Time resets after.
Consider Visiting other Player's World
You can also get Onikabuto by visiting other player's world. This is great for getting large amount of Onikabuto. Make sure to chat your intentions to the World owner first! You can also use the Item Exchange Thread below:
Onikabuto - Recommended Farming Route
The following farming route includes 59 easy to locate Onikabuto among a total of 79 - You can collect a total of 168 Onikabuto, enough for character ascension to up to 3 times.
Jump southeast from the starting waypoint in Narukami Shrine and descend towards the large hole in the mountain

Collect the first Onikabuto perched on the white tree in the north before entering the hole

Enter the hole and collect the second Onikabuto perched on the thich tree on the south side

Jump to the tree to the opposite direction (south) and collect the 3 Onikabuto there
5
Jump again to the norht and collect the 2 Onikabuto

There is another one if you head to the opposite direction again
To be able to enter the large hole in the mountain, you must first clear the World Quest "Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual" quest line. Make sure to complete it first before heading to the farming route.
Route 2 - Narukami Island

Jump southeast from the Narukami Shrine waypoint and collect the first one around the passage through the electric relay

Glide north and collect the second one on a tree

Descend southeast and collect the Onikabuto on a shrine

Jump down the cliff from the north of the Kamisato Estate and collect it from the fox statue

From the boat summon point, take a boat to the island where the entrance to the underground area is location. You will need to use the lens Gadget to create the hole

When you reach the isladn with the entrance to the basement, enter the hole

Slowly descend and collect the Onikabuto on the tree

Descend to the northeast and collect it from the hill

Collect the Onikabuto on the hill diagonally to the east
Route 3 - Narukami Island

Jump down the cliff behind Narugami Shrine (Northeast) annd collect the first one near the Tori Gat

Jump down the cliff to the east and collect the second one that is at the Cherry Blossom tree

Go down the cliff to theast and collect the Onikabuto near the wooden bridge. It's on a root

Follow the road to the northwest and collect the Onikabuto. It's on the wall near the samurai

Head to the direction of the nearby Domain and collect the Onikabuto near the entrance
Route 4 - Narukami Island

Head west of the Waypoint in Chinjiu Forest

Collect the Onikabuto on the tree near the fork in the road

Proceed northwest and the Onikabuto will be on a rock in the shade of a tree
Head north from the Tatarasuna Waypoint and head west of the samurai

Get the first one on the top of the hill

Use a Electrogram to get the Onikabuto inside the Electro field

Enter the barrier and get the 4 Onikabuto

Head down the cliff and an Onikabuto will be there
Route 2 - Kannazuka Island

Head northwest from the Waypoint and head to the rocky area. There is one there

Go through the gate n the northeast side and get the Onikabuto on the hill

Go down the north cliff and get the Onikabutos near the big tree
Route 3 - Kannazuka Island

From the waypoint in the northern part of Tatarasuna, summon Electrograms and enter the Electro barrier

When you go up the cliff, get the two Onikabuto from the nearby tree

Obtain the 3 Onikabuto near the tree, a step up the cliff
Route 4 - Kannazuka Island

Fly north from the Tatarasun Waypoint and get the first Onikabuto on the roof close to the surface

Head to the center and get the 2 Onikabutos in the top part, and another Onikabuto on the bottom part

Look straight back and get the Onikabuto
4
Turn straight behind again and get the Onikabuto by going down a step
To enter the Furnace area, you will need to clear the World Quest "Tatara Tales". This is a time-gated quest so it's recommended to immediately clears the quests when they are available.
