Roles & Playstyle Of Gaming and Its Strengths and Weakness
On-Field Pyro DPS Gaming
Gaming is best as an On-Field Pyro DPS since his Plunging Attacks playstyle require on-field time. His ability to empower his Plunging Attacks and natural ability to do Plunges without requiring Xianyun's Elemental Burst makes him a great Plunging Attack DPS.
Pros and Cons of DPS Gaming
| Pros |
|---|
| - 4-star Pyro DPS that can deal powerful CRITs due to the high damage multipliers from Plunging Attacks. |
| - Can do Plunge Attacks without needing external support. |
| - Great in Melt or Overload teams. |
| - HP drain mechanic in Elemental Skill allows him to use Marechaussee set for the CRIT Rate buff. |
| Cons |
| - Elemental Skill does not deal damage making Viridecent Venerer/Scroll set holders need another Pyro character to trigger their buffs/debuffs. |
| - Needs to come contact with an enemy to ascend into air for Plunging Attacks. |
Best Build for Gaming
As a Burst-reliant DPS, Gaming needs Energy Recharge along with ATK and CRIT stats to ensure consistent damage. If there's an ATK buffer like Bennett, you can use ER sands.

Best Weapon for Gaming
Since there's no 5-star character who is a Plunging Attack DPS, Gaming's weapon options are limited to CRIT stat weapons and ATK/Elemental Mastery boosting weapons. He can also use Energy Recharge weapons as F2P options but they're generally worse for damage.
Premium Weapons for Gaming
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best | Serpent Spine | Get from Battle Pass - Greatly increases DMG of Gaming. - Shielder is recommended when using this weapon. |
| 2nd | Verdict | Get from Limited Banner - Navia's signature weapon that's only available for pulling when she's on rate up. - Gives lower CRIT Rate than Beacon but it has a higher Base ATK and permanent ATK buff of 20%. |
| 3rd | Beacon Of The Reed Sea | Get from Limited Banner - Dehya's signature weapon that's only available for pulling when she's on rate up. - Works as a CRIT Rate stat stick but if Gaming gets hit, he can get a 20% ATK buff. |
| 4th | Fruitful Hook | Get from Limited Banners - Obtainable as limited 4-star weapon rate up on certain weapon banners. - Works as an ATK stat stick and has a Plunging DMG buff. - Works better than Verdict and Beacon with high refines but not recommended to use if Gaming uses Long Night set since the Plunging DMG buff becomes redundant. |
| 5th | Wolf's Gravestone | Get from Banners - Greatly increase ATK of Gaming. - Can buff the ATK of the team but with strict condition. - You need to build CRIT on Artifacts more. |
| 6th | Lithic Blade | Get from Limited Banners - Greatly increases ATK and CRIT Rate. - To maximize the effects, you need to use Liyue characters only. |
Serpent Spine is Gaming's best premium weapon for its CRIT stat and DMG buff. If you don't have it, Verdict or Beacon work great as a CRIT Rate stat stick then ATK stat sticks are next. Fruitful Hook is better than his CRIT Rate weapons if you have high refines on it.
Free-to-Play Friendly (F2P Weapons) for Gaming
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best F2P | Mailed Flower | Get from Limited Event - Obtained from Version 3.5's main event. - Amazing weapon for Vaporize teams especially at R5. - You need to build CRIT on Artifacts more. |
| 2nd (Forge) | Tidal Shadow | Fontaine Craftable (Forgeable) Weapon - Works great as a ATK stat stick and Gaming's self healing activates its passive effect. |
| 3rd (Event) | Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword | Get from Limited Event - Obtained from Version 4.3's main event. - Gives both ATK and Energy Recharge. - Needs Melusine quest clears for maxed ATK buff. |
If you don't have Mailed Flower, you can use the Fontaine craftable Claymore as an ATK stat stick since Gaming can trigger the 2nd ATK buff effect with his self-healing.
All Weapon ListGaming Best Artifacts
Gaming's ability to drain his HP and heal it back enables him to activate Marechaussee set's 4-pc effect. Aside from Marechaussee, Gaming can use DMG buffing or ATK/EM buffing sets to boost his damage.
| Artifact | Recommendation Details |
|---|---|
Marechaussee Hunter | ★★★★★ - Best set for increasing Gaming's CRIT Rate. - Gaming won't benefit from the 2-pc effect but the CRIT Rate effect works better than other sets. |
Crimson Witch Of Flames | ★★★★☆ - 2nd best set for buffing Gaming's damage through reactions. - Gaming can easily trigger the 4-pc set effect since he uses his Skill a lot. |
Long Night's Oath | ★★★☆☆ - Plunging Attack DMG buffing set but is notably weaker compared to other sets since Gaming can't trigger most of the buff requirement. - Only buffs 40% Plunging Attack DMG compared to the max of 100%. |
Gilded Dreams | ★★★☆☆ - 2nd best set for reaction teams. - Both buffs it gives are great for Gaming in a reaction team. |
Crimson Witch Of Flames Long Night's Oath | ★★☆☆☆ - Best 2-pc set effects for damage if you are still farming for Gaming's full set. |

Get A Good CR/CD Ratio Then Focus On ATK/EM and Energy Recharge
Depending on the set you use, Gaming generally follows the usual DPS building where you focus on the CRIT stats then their damage stats. Marechaussee set allows you to lower the focus on CRIT Rate since it gives a decent amount of CRIT Rate already.

| - Gaming's new Hypercarry team has Citlali replace Furina since Melt has a stronger multiplier. While it does deal more damage, the difference of the Vaporize team with Furina is small. - Scroll set makes this team a lot easier to use compared to Xianyun holding VV. | |||
Xianyun and Bennett are both the main partners for Gaming while the Sub-DPS character will change depending on the application rate and buffs provided. It's likely that if a new Plunging Support is released, they can replace the Sub-DPS or Xianyun's position.

Team Rotation of Gaming and Combos
Basic Gaming Team Rotation
| Basic Team Rotation for Gaming |
|---|
| 1. Activate support abilities. 2. Switch to Gaming and use his Elemental Burst. 3. Spam his Plunging Attack combo: [Elemental Skill → Plunging Attack] until his buff runs out. 4. Repeat from Step 1. |
Gaming's team rotation follows the typical DPS character rotation. While it sounds simple on paper, Gaming's Elemental Skill is known to miss hitting enemies and preventing Gaming from jumping in air. As such, it's best to use dashes or move towards enemies to ensure he can do Plunging Attacks.
Wait for Elemental Application if Vaporize/Melt Team
Gaming's Skill CD reset can cause slow Sub-DPS characters to apply their Element after Gaming's next Plunging Attack, causing loss of DPS. It's recommended to time the Plunging Attacks even though it will cause less hits but more damage in the rotation.
Basics of Using Gaming (Beginner Guide)
Pyro DPS for Melt, Vaporize or Overload Teams
Gaming is a Pyro DPS that deals powerful damage with his Plunging Attacks. His Plunging Attacks have a high ceiling for damage in Melt or Vaporize teams but he can be used in Overload teams as well.
Special Plunging Attacks Reduces His HP
If Gaming uses his Elemental Skill to jump and then deal a Plunging Attack from there, he will use a Special Plunging Attack that deals Pyro DMG. This attack will reduce his HP, allowing him to use Marechaussee set. Crimson Witch is another very good artifact set for him if you have other sources of CRIT stats such as his weapon and Constellation 6.
| Marechaussee VS Crimson Witch | |
|---|---|
Marechaussee Hunter | - 2-pc set effect doesn't benefit Gaming since he doesn't deal Normal or Charged Attack DMG. - Only the CRIT Rate buff is good for him but it gives lesser damage amp compared to Crimson Witch's various buffs. |
Crimson Witch Of Flames | - Buffs reaction damage, making it great for reaction teams. - Gaming can easily trigger all 3 stacks and increase the Pyro DMG Bonus from the starting 15% to 37.5% in total. |
Elemental Skill Makes Him Jump High

Gaming's Elemental Skill is his main method for using Plunging Attacks. Even if Xianyun or C4 Hexerei Albedo helps Gaming in jumping into air for a Plunging Attack, it won't deal Pyro DMG since his Special Plunging Attack comes from his Elemental Skill effect.
Elemental Burst Allows Gaming to Spam His Skill
Gaming's Elemental Skill has a short cooldown of 6s but it's not enough as a DPS. His Elemental Burst amends it by summoning Man Chai who can link up with Gaming to reset his Skill's CD.
| Summary of Gaming's Elemental Burst |
|---|
| - Heals 30% of his HP. - Summons Man Chai who will reset his Skill CD then leaves the field. - Man Chai is resummoned every time Gaming does his Special Plunging Attack. |
Passive Incentivizes Having Above 50% HP

Gaming's Passive makes his Special Plunging Attack deal 20% more damage if his HP is 50% or more. However, his Special Plunging Attack reduces his HP. Gaming has sources of healing as well but it's best to bring a healer with him.
| Gaming's Sources of Self Healing | |
|---|---|
| Passive | - Heals 1.5% of Max HP once every 0.2s for 0.8s after his Special Plunging Attack hits enemies. |
| Elemental Burst | - Heals 30% of Max HP. |
| Constellation 1 | - Man Chai resetting Gaming's Skill will heal 15% of his HP. |
Elemental Skill, Burst and Abilities Guide for Gaming
How To Use Gaming's Skills & Passives?
Plunging Attack Pyro DPS
Gaming is a 4-Star Plunging Attack Pyro DPS who can be used for powerful Vaporize or Melt attacks or in an Overload team focused on buffing Pyro DMG. He utilizes both Active Skills to do Plunging Attacks and to reduce and heal his own HP.
Elemental Skill To Do Plunging Attacks
Gaming's Elemental Skill is used to collide with an enemy then jumps Gaming high up in the air to do a Special Plunging Attack infused with Pyro. If he misses with his Skill, Gaming can't jump up into air and the Skill goes on cooldown.
Elemental Burst For Spamming Elemental Skill & Healing

▲A Lion Mark will appear once Man Chai goes to Gaming.
Gaming's Elemental Burst summons Man Chai who can link up with Gaming to reset his Skill CD. Man Chai can be resummoned if Gaming does his Special Plunging Attack with >50% HP and have his Skill CD reset again, allowing for a loop of Elemental Skill then Plunging Attack.
Gains More Plunging DMG If >50% HP

Gaming's Passive effect gives him more Plunging Attack DMG if his HP is above 50%. If he's below 50%, he gains more healing. Gaming is able to heal himself but it's best to use him with a dedicated healer.
Should You Pull for Gaming's Constellation Or Best Weapon?
Aim for C6 if You Are Able To
| Constellation Priority |
|---|
| C6 > C4 > C2 |
C6 Makes Him a Capable Carry
Prior to C6, Gaming's performance as a carry will be in-line with other 4-star DPS, which is usually unremarkable. After obtaining C6, he starts outputting enough damage to rival even the more recent 5-star carries, provided you have all the pieces to make his best team. If you'd like Gaming to become a competitive on-field DPS. getting his C6 is ideal.
Gaming is a Pyro main DPS that focuses on using Plunge attack as a main source of damage. He has a wide AoE and competitive damage making him a good DPS for your teams.
