Illuga is a 4-star Geo character who wields a Polearm in Genshin Impact. He is a Geo support for Geo damage dealers, and his Elemental Burst increases their Geo DMG. He scales with Elemental Mastery for his buffs and provides an even stronger buff when triggering a Lunar-Crystallize reaction. Lorewise, Illuga is the son of the leader of the Lightkeepers.

Best Weapon for Illuga

Illuga requires ample Energy Recharge to consistently use his Burst, as well as Elemental Mastery since his buffs scale on it. Having a good balance of both stats is ideal.

Note that since Illuga performs best in a team with other Geo characters, he can easily gain Energy from his teammates.

He provides a stronger buff to Lunar-Crystallize damage, making him ideal for Lunar-Crystallize teams, but he is also viable in other team compositions.

As a support, Illuga's buff comes from his Elemental Burst and scales with his Elemental Mastery. This means you should focus on building his Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge. His Elemental Burst can also activate the CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG buff from his Passive Talent.

Illuga is a damage support for both Lunar-Crystallize and Geo DPS characters. While his buff is more effective for Lunar-Crystallize DPS, it's also a decent option for Geo DPS since it boosts all Geo DMG.

Elemental Skill For Energy

Illuga's Elemental Skill is primarily for gaining Energy and should be used before his Burst. Using it after his Burst is not recommended as it can consume a stack from his Burst's buff.

Elemental Burst Activates Buff

Illuga's DMG-increasing buff comes from his Burst, meaning he needs a good amount of Energy Recharge for consistent uptime. This buff has a trigger quota, similar to the ones provided by Shenhe and Yun Jin.

Buff Is Stronger With Lunar-Crystallize DMG & Scales On EM

Illuga's buff scales with his Elemental Mastery and increases all Geo DMG. The buff is nearly 6 times more potent when the damage dealt is Lunar-Crystallize.

Needs At Least 3 Geo/Hydro Teammates

Illuga's Burst buff can be further enhanced by including more Geo or Hydro characters in the team. With at least 3 of these characters, the buff gains additional scaling from his EM, becoming notably stronger for Lunar-Crystallize DMG.

Should You Pull for Illuga's Constellation Or Best Weapon?

Aim for C2 to Consistently Trigger Silken Moon's Serenade

Illuga is a niche support for Lunar Crystalize. While he provides an amazing buff even without constellations, his lack of off-field elemental application makes him less than ideal for triggering Silken Moon's Serenade. His Constellation 2, however, allows Illuga to frequently deal off-field damage, which lets the artifact set trigger consistently. Therefore, getting his C2 is highly recommended, and further constellations will also increase the damage of Lunar Crystalize.

Illuga is the youngest captain of the Lightkeepers and a member of the investigation squad, the Nightmare Orioles. He is also the adoptive son of Nikita, the Starshyna and leader of the Lightkeepers.
