The quest is triggered when you stand in front of the mechanism of the Ancient Ritual Site. This is in the Ancestral Temple area of Natlan.

Walkthrough Guide

Go to the camp
Open the gate to the Ancient Ritual Site
Lower the water to gain access to the inner location. Do this by lighting up all the lamps then using the switch there

Venture deeper into the ruins
Defeat the Wayob's Wrathful Manifestation
- Break its Dendro shield to bring it down
Place the obsidian statue back on the altar

Lamp 1 Guide
Use the Lever at the far end of the room
Align the two lamps to light the other one up
Lamp 2 Guide
Go the left side of the room. There is a small opening there with explosive fruit
Take one of the fruit and throw it to the wall to open it
Use the mechanism to align the two lamps to light the other up
Lamp 3 Guide
Go to the right side of the room
Drop down to the platform below then continue forward
Climb up the ladder to get to the mechanism
Open the door to unlock the mechanism
Use the mechanism to align the two lamps to light the other up
