Prune is a 4-star, off-field Anemo Catalyst user in Genshin Impact. She increases the active character's damage when the Bell from her Elemental Burst triggers a Swirl reaction. This buff scales with her ATK. She can also buff her own ATK by 60% when the Secret Rite party enhancement is active (requires 2 Hexerei characters), gaining an additional 30% if Prune triggers the Swirl reaction.

Prune is a Swirl support that acts as a damage and ATK buffer for Hexerei teams. Prune's Elemental Burst summons a Bell that can deal damage, and when it triggers a Swirl reaction, it provides a damage buff that scales with her ATK for 5s. While the buff requires Prune to have 4000 ATK, having a second Hexerei character and triggering reactions can grant her a 60% ATK self-buff (+30% if Prune triggers Swirl).

Prune's Roles, Playstyle, Strengths, and Weaknesses
Off-Field Support for Anemo (Hexerei) DPS
Prune's best role is to act as a damage and ATK buffer for Hexerei Anemo DPS characters. While she can be used with DPS characters that are not Anemo and/or Hexerei, they will only receive the damage buff from her.
Pros and Cons of Anemo (Hexerei) DPS Support Prune
| Pros |
|---|
| - Can use the new Hexerei Support artifact set to buff any Elemental DMG dealt. |
| - Only needs ATK and Energy Recharge for her buffs. |
| - Her ability to buff both damage and ATK is impressive for a 4-Star Support character. |
| Cons |
| - Needs frequent Pyro/Electro/Cryo/Hydro application since her buff activates when her Bell summon triggers a Swirl reaction. |
Off-Field Damage Support for Non-Hexerei DPS
Since Prune can still provide her damage buff outside of Hexerei teams, she is a viable damage support for any DPS. However, it is still recommended to include a second Hexerei character in the team to lower her ATK requirement.
Pros and Cons of Non-Hexerei DPS Support Prune
| Pros |
|---|
| - Gains a 30% ATK self-buff in addition to her existing 60% ATK self-buff, as she is the one triggering the Swirl reaction. |
| - Can still use the new support artifact set, as its effect does not restrict the Elemental DMG buff to only Hexerei characters. |
| Cons |
| - Requires a second Hexerei character to activate the Secret Rite effect for her ATK self-buffs. |
| - Unable to provide an ATK buff to the main DPS, as the buff requires the character to be both Hexerei and Anemo. |

Best Weapon for Prune
As a support who relies on her Elemental Burst for buffing, Prune is best used with weapons that have Energy Recharge or Energy-related mechanics. While she can also use ATK-focused weapons, those with Energy Recharge are generally better for her.
Premium Weapons for Prune
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best | Skyward Atlas | Get from Banners - Skyward Atlas, or any Catalyst that provides a high amount of ATK, helps Prune reach her required ATK threshold. - This weapon also allows you to focus on Energy Recharge for Artifact sub-stats. |
| 2nd | Favonius Codex | Get from Banners - Favonius Codex allows Prune to generate more Energy Particles, which benefits the whole team. - The ER substat helps in building her Energy Recharge to increase her Burst uptime. - Recommended if Nicole is on the team, as it will lower Prune's ATK requirements, allowing Favonius Codex to provide additional utility. |
| 2nd | Thrilling Tales Of Dragon Slayers | Get from Banners - A decent support weapon for Prune if you don't have Favonius Codex. - The HP substat won't benefit her, but the ATK buff from the weapon's effect is good for ATK-scaling DPS characters. - At C6, Prune can use this weapon to provide a larger ATK buff for the DPS since her ATK requirements will be lower. |
Prune's premium weapon options are Favonius Codex and Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers. Aside from those two, you can use other high-ATK weapons, but they will generally perform worse than support or ER weapons.
Free-to-Play Friendly (F2P Weapons) for Prune
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best F2P | Oathsworn Eye | Get from Past Limited Event - This weapon was obtainable during the Version 2.5 flagship event. - Its ATK substat and the ER buff after using an Elemental Skill make it a good weapon for Prune. - This is Prune's best weapon if Nicole isn't included on the team. |
| 2nd | Etherlight Spindlelute | Get from Past Limited Event - This weapon was obtainable during the Version 6.0 flagship event. - It serves as an ER stat stick for Prune since the EM buff from its passive doesn't benefit her. |
Prune's best F2P weapon is Oathsworn Eye, as it provides both stats she needs as a support. Alternative weapons that can be used for her are those with high ER or ATK.
All Weapon ListPrune Best Artifacts
As an Anemo and Hexerei character, Prune can use Viridescent Venerer or Celestial Gift to buff her teammates. She can also use other support or stat-boosting sets. See our suggestions below:
| Artifact | Recommendation Details |
|---|---|
Celestial Gift | ★★★★★ - Best artifact set for Prune. It provides an Elemental DMG buff for teammates and Energy Recharge for herself. - Use only if no other character in the party is equipped with this set. |
Viridescent Venerer | ★★★★・ - A great alternative for support. - Unlike Celestial Gift, its full buff doesn't require 2 Hexerei characters in the party. |
Noblesse Oblige | ★★★・・ - Another support set option if another character is already providing an Elemental DMG buff. - Since it buffs ATK, it can lead to over-stacking ATK buffs when used with other ATK-focused supports. |
Any ER% Any ATK% | ★★・・・ - Best 2-piece set combinations for Prune. - You can mix and match 2-piece sets that grant ER% or ATK% if you're lacking in either stat. |

Aside from Energy Recharge and ATK%, Prune will need CRIT Rate to consistently trigger the effect of Favonius Codex. Once you have a sufficient amount of CRIT Rate, prioritize building ATK% over Energy Recharge.

| 1. Use the abilities of your supports and sub-DPS to apply Elements that can be swirled. 2. Switch to Prune and use her Elemental Skill twice. 3. Use her Elemental Burst to activate her Bell Summon. 4. Switch to your main DPS to deal damage. |
Prune's playstyle is similar to other Anemo supports, as she also needs to trigger Swirl to activate her buffs. Her personal and team-wide buffs activate when the on-field DPS triggers elemental reactions.
Basics of Using Prune (Beginner Guide)
Hexerei Swirl Support/Damage Buffer

Prune is an Anemo support who provides a damage buff to the active character. She can also provide an ATK buff, but it only applies to Hexerei Anemo characters who can trigger Swirl.
Needs Both ATK and Energy Recharge
Prune's damage buff scales with her ATK and can only be activated after her Burst summons her Bell. This makes her reliant on her Burst and requires a high ATK stat, since the buff's calculation includes ATK points beyond 2,000.
Tolling Rally Detail| Tolling Rally (Ascension Talent Buff) |
|---|
| When Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks, or Elemental Skills and Bursts deal DMG to opponents, that attack's DMG will be increased based on the portion of Prune's ATK in excess of 2,000 when they become affected by the Tolling Rally effect. Every excess ATK point increases that instance of DMG by 0.025%, up to a total of 50% max. |
Best Paired with an Anemo DPS and Elemental Applier
▲Left shows Varka with Prune's buffs while the right shows Varka without them
Prune is best paired with a DPS who can trigger Swirl, as she provides an additional ATK buff alongside the damage buff. However, Pyro/Electro/Cryo/Hydro characters are still needed to apply Elements to trigger Swirl.
Easier to Build with Secret Rite Activated
| Hexerei Secret Rite Effect for Prune |
|---|
| After a Hexerei character in the party affected by the Tolling Rally effect triggers an Elemental Reaction on an opponent, Prune's ATK is increased by 60% for 5s. If the Elemental Reaction triggered is a Swirl Reaction, the triggering character's ATK will additionally be increased by 30% for 5s. |
Prune can buff her own ATK when the Secret Rite party enhancement (2 Hexerei characters in the team) is active and a Hexerei character triggers an Elemental Reaction. This makes Prune much easier to build since she needs a lot of ATK and this self-buff lowers the ATK requirement to maximize her damage buff.
| Note! | Prune can also get the 30% ATK buff from triggering Swirl if there's no other Anemo characters (Varka or Venti) to steal the reaction from her. |

How To Use Prune's Skills & Passives?
Damage/ATK Buffer For Anemo (Hexerei) Teams
Prune is an Anemo support character, specializing in buffing Hexerei teams that include an Anemo DPS. While she can function as a general damage buffer in other teams, a second Hexerei character is needed to reduce her high ATK build requirements.
Buff Comes From Elemental Burst
| Witchlure Bell Effects |
|---|
| - Summoned when Prune uses her Elemental Burst. - Deals AoE Anemo DMG and follows the active character. - When its attacks trigger Swirl, it summons a Banehunter Oathhammer that gives a damage buff to the active character. |
Prune's damage and ATK buffs come from her Elemental Burst. Her Elemental Burst summons her Bell, which deals damage to nearby enemies. Triggering Swirl with the Bell's attacks activates the damage buff. However, if the active character is both Anemo and Hexerei, triggering Swirl will also grant them an ATK buff.
Can Self-Buff ATK When Secret Rite Is Active
When Secret Rite is active (by having 2+ Hexerei characters in the team), Prune can buff her own ATK if a Hexerei character triggers an Elemental Reaction. This lessens the burden of building her ATK, as she needs 4000 ATK to reach the 50% cap on the damage buff she provides.
Needs A Lot Of ATK
| ATK Buff Sources | Amount and Buff Given |
|---|---|
| Nicole's Buff | 900 Flat ATK |
| Noblesse Effect | 20% ATK buff |
| Pyro Resonance (2+ Pyro characters) | 25% ATK buff |
| Prune's Secret Rite Effect | 60% ATK buff for Prune only if any Hexerei character triggers a Reaction. └ Increased to a 90% ATK buff if Prune triggers Swirls. |
Prune's damage buff requires her to have 4000 ATK to reach its 50% maximum. Her Secret Rite passive can significantly lower this ATK requirement for herself. When supporting Varka or Venti, Prune's ATK requirement is 2500 with Nicole's buff, and 3200 without it.
Should You Pull for Prune's Constellation Or Best Weapon?
C2 is a Good Stopping Point
Prune's C1 and C2 are great Constellation upgrades that allow her to build less Energy Recharge and focus more on ATK for her damage buff. With C2, she can gain an additional 40% ATK on top of her guaranteed 60% ATK buff, which increases by another 30% if she triggers a Swirl reaction.
C6 Gives an Additional Flat ATK Buff
As a support, Prune's best Constellation is C6. It provides a flat 350 ATK buff to both herself and the active character, which helps to balance stats and avoid over-stacking percentage-based ATK buffs.
