Ifa is a 4-star Anemo character who wields a Catalyst in Genshin Impact. His gameplay focuses on flexible Anemo support and sustained healing. By using his Elemental Skill and Normal Attacks, he generates "Nightsoul" points that activate "Nightsoul's Blessing," a special state where he floats in midair, fires Anemo projectiles, heals allies on hit, and enhances reaction-based damage, especially Swirl and Electro-Charged, based on his Elemental Mastery. His Elemental Burst, "Compound Sedation Field," gathers enemies with a vortex, dealing continuous Anemo damage and creating more opportunities for elemental reactions. Lore-wise, Ifa hails from the Flower-Feather Clan in Natlan and is a compassionate saurian veterinarian. Often found alongside his friend Ororon, he dedicates his time to caring for injured creatures and helping others, even bearing scars from past struggles that speak to his devotion and bravery.

Roles & Playstyle Of Ifa and Its Strengths and Weakness
On-Field Driver Ifa
Ifa is best used as an On-Field Driver that provides buffs to his teammates. While his own damage and healing may be lackluster, his ability to boost the damage dealt by Taser teams is great.
Pros and Cons of On-Field Driver Ifa
| Pros |
|---|
| - Greatly increases the damage dealt by Swirl and Electro-Charged reactions if the condition of his Passive is met. |
| - Compatible with Normal Attack-proc sub-DPS like Xingqiu, Furina, and Yelan since Ifa deals Normal Attack DMG during his Nightsoul state. |
| - Hovering in air allows him to prevent attacks from melee-only enemies as well as give him an easier time positioning. |
| Cons |
| - Has very weak healing that using Furina in his teams will require having a dedicated healer as well. |
| - Reliant on a 2nd Natlan character with at least 70 Nightsoul points to max out his Damage buff. |
Best Build for Ifa
Ifa prefers weapons that provide him with more Elemental Mastery, either through their secondary stat or passive. Catalysts that are specifically made for Electro-Charged or Lunar-Charged teams are also highly recommended. See below for our recommendations:
Ifa Is Best Used as a Driver
| Weapon | Sunny Morning Sleep-In |
|---|---|
| Best Artifact | Viridescent Venerer |
| Artifact Main Stats | Sands: Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge (ER) Goblet: Elemental Mastery Circlet: Elemental Mastery or Healing Bonus |
| Priority Sub-Stat | Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery > CRIT Rate (for Favonius Codex) |

Stat Goals For On-Field Driver Ifa
| Energy Recharge | 160%-200% (30-45% less with C1) |
|---|---|
| Elemental Mastery | 800-1000 |
| Crit Rate | At least ~30% if using Favonius Codex |
Ideally, Ifa should be built as an on-field reaction driver that buffs both Electro-Charged and Lunar-Charged DMG. Focus on building Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge to increase his Swirl damage and to allow him to use his Burst every rotation.

Best Weapon for Ifa
Ifa's weapons lean into his Elemental Mastery scaling by giving him more Elemental Mastery, or by allowing him to provide additional utility or support for his teammates, who usually deal the bulk of the team's DPS.
Premium Weapons for On-Field Driver Ifa
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best | Sunny Morning Sleep-In | Get from Limited Banner - Mizuki's Signature Weapon works well for Ifa since he is also a Swirl-based on-field character. - The multiple sources of EM from both its passive and secondary stat help greatly increase Ifa's damage contribution. |
| 2nd | A Thousand Floating Dreams | Get from Limited Banner - The EM secondary stat makes it easier for Ifa to reach his desired EM. - Provides a small EM buff for the team. |
| 3rd | Starcaller's Watch Nightweaver's Looking Glass | Get from Limited Banners - Elemental Mastery secondary stats are always appreciated for a character like Ifa who scales with EM. - Ifa cannot reliably trigger the passives of these weapons, effectively rendering them as simple stat-sticks. |
| 3rd | Wandering Evenstar | Get from Limited Banner - Gives EM from its secondary stat. - Provides the team with an ATK% buff based on Ifa's EM, which is good for ATK-scaling Sub-DPSes. - Best at R5, but since it's only available on limited-time weapon banners, achieving R5 is difficult for most players. |
| 4th | Favonius Codex | Get From Banners - Energy Recharge is a nice stat to have, as it allows you to focus on EM substats for his artifacts. - The passive generates Energy Particles upon landing a CRIT hit, which is beneficial for teammates with high ER requirements. - Ifa needs a decent amount of CRIT Rate to reliably trigger the passive. |
| 5th | Sacrificial Fragments | Get From Banners - The Elemental Mastery secondary stat helps Ifa reach his ideal EM. - The passive's skill reset does not work with Ifa's kit. - It's a viable stat-stick if you already have it. |
Since Ifa has a similar kit to Mizuki, her Signature Weapon also synergizes well with him. Beyond that, any weapon with EM or extra utility like the Favonius weapons will be decent choices, even if Ifa can't activate their passives himself.
Best Free-to-Play (F2P) Weapons for On-Field Driver Ifa
| Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
|---|---|---|
| Best F2P | Etherlight Spindleflute | Reward From Past Event(Clink Clank Clash) - The Energy Recharge secondary stat makes it easier for Ifa to use his Burst every rotation. - Best at R5. - Increases EM after using his Elemental Skill. |
| 2nd F2P | Fruit of Fulfillment | Sumeru Forgeable (Craftable) Weapon - The Energy Recharge helps Ifa use his Burst every rotation. - The passive increases EM but reduces ATK, which is fine for Ifa since he doesn't scale with ATK. - Requires the wielder to trigger an Elemental Reaction every 6 seconds to maintain stacks, which is manageable for most of Ifa's teams. |
| 3rd F2P | Hakushin Ring | Inazuma Forgeable (Craftable) Weapon - The Energy Recharge secondary stat allows for more freedom with his artifact builds, letting you focus on EM substats. - After triggering an Electro reaction, it provides a small DMG% buff to teammates of the elements involved in the reaction. This is good for Electro-Charged and Aggravate teams, but not as effective for Lunar-Charged teams since they typically aren't affected by DMG% buffs. |
For Free-to-Play options, the Etherlight Spindleflute and Fruit of Fulfillment perform about equally, since both their passives give EM to the equipping character. Without any of the options mentioned above, any weapon with EM or ER will be a viable stopgap until you can obtain a better one for Ifa.

For On-Field Reaction Driver Ifa, Build EM
As on-field driver, Ifa needs EM because it is the only stat that can boost his Swirl damage. Energy Recharge then Attack is the priority order after EM since his Burst can provide Crowd Control for him while attack can boost his own attack's damage.
For Burst Sub-DPS Ifa, Build Energy Recharge
Energy Recharge should be prioritized if using Ifa as a Crowd Control support. This is to allow him to use his Burst every rotation. Elemental Mastery or Attack can be prioritized next if wanting to increase his damage.

Ifa | Columbina | Ineffa | Ororon |
| Details | |||
| - Ifa is a decent driver for the Columbina-Ineffa core, which deals a good amount of DPS on its own. - Columbina can equip Prototype Amber for additional sustain. - Ineffa benefits from the DMG% buff provided by Ifa, as it also affects Lunar-Charged reactions. - Ororon also benefits from Ifa's DMG% buffs and contributes to the team's overall DPS.| | |||
A Lunar-Charged team with Ineffa and Columbina is one of Ifa's strongest teams. He provides a modest damage increase to Electro-Charged and Lunar-Charged reactions and can reliably act as the on-field driver since Swirl helps spread elemental application. His minuscule healing, which is often not enough to be the sole sustainer, pairs well with Ineffa's shield, making the team relatively comfortable to play.

Ifa | Fischl | - Ifa can act as an effective driver for an Aggravate team with Fischl and Beidou, as he can easily trigger their abilities while his Skill is active. - Fischl's damage benefits greatly from the Aggravate reaction, while Beidou acts as the primary 'sustain' thanks to her damage mitigation and small shield. - Nahida can be replaced by any other Dendro applicator. |

Ifa | Xingqiu | - A F2P-friendly team comp using free and easily obtainable characters. - A Freeze team that performs well in most non-endgame content. - This team is good for multi-target scenarios thanks to Ifa's Swirling capability, which can apply Cryo to enemies that are close together. |

Ifa's rotation follows the usual rotation for on-field DPS and reaction drivers. Use the sub-DPS or buffer characters' abilities first before Ifa's turn in the rotation.

Cleaning Mode: Airborne Disease Prevention (Elemental Skill)
| Effect |
|---|
| It's time for the real bash bros to step up! Ifa calls Cacucu in as backup. After using this skill, Ifa gains 80 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state. In the Nightsoul's Blessing state, Ifa will hover with Cacucu's help. When he uses Normal Attacks in this state, he will use different kinds of Supporting Fire depending on whether you Tap or Hold, firing Tonicshots that are capable of healing all party members. Additionally, Holding the Elemental Skill Airborne Disease Prevention while Ifa is in Nightsoul's Blessing will cause him to use a Nightsoul-aligned Plunging Attack. Letting go of the skill button will interrupt this Plunging Attack to maintain his hover. If Ifa lands due to this Plunging Attack, his Nightsoul's Blessing state will end. |
Supporting Fire
| Effect |
|---|
| In the Nightsoul's Blessing State, Ifa's Normal Attacks will turn into Supporting Fire. Tap/Press: Fires a Tonicshot. Hold: Continuously fires Tonicshots. Tonicshot: Deals Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG, and will heal all nearby party members based on Ifa's Elemental Mastery upon hitting an opponent. |
Nightsoul's Blessing

His Nightsoul's Blessing state has the following properties: • Hovers with Cacucu's help, increasing Ifa's Movement SPD and interruption resistance. In this state, Ifa will continuously consume Nightsoul points to maintain this hovering state. If he sprints or accelerates, he will consume additional points. • When he uses Normal Attacks, he will use different kinds of Supporting Fire depending on whether you Tap or Hold. |

Rescue Essentials will increase the Swirl, Electro-Charged, and Lunar-Charged DMG dealt by all nearby party members. Rescue Essentials: Max 150 points. Each Rescue Essentials point Ifa has will increase the Swirl and Electro-Charged DMG dealt by nearby party members by 1.5%, and their Lunar-Charged DMG dealt by 0.2%. These points will be cleared when his Nightsoul's Blessing state ends. |
Mutual Aid Agreement
| Effect |
|---|
| When nearby party members trigger Nightsoul Bursts, Ifa's Elemental Mastery increases by 80 for 10s. |
Focused Emergency Rescue
| Effect |

| After his Nightsoul points are exhausted, Ifa will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain his Nightsoul's Blessing. While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, he can use Nightsoul Transmission: Ifa. When the active character is a certain height in the air, the following will occur when switching to Ifa: Ifa will enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and gain 32 Nightsoul points. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own team. |
Tactical Warm Compress Bandaging
| Effect |
|---|
| While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, when the current active party member or indwelt saurian has less than 40% HP, Ifa will consume 10 Phlogiston and restore 40% of their HP. This effect can trigger once every 10s, and does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss. |
Who Is Ifa?
A Saurian Vet From The Flower-Feather Clan

Ifa is a well-known Saurian veterinarian from the Flower-Feather Clan. In 5.5's flagship event, it's been revealed that his job is passed down from his ancestor who once lost his Qucusaur companion and set out to find cures for other Saurians to prevent the same tragedy from happening.
Friends with Ororon
While Ifa and Ororon's friendship has been shown in-game multiple times, the start of their bond has been mentioned in Ifa's Character Stories. Ifa was almost caught up in Ororon and Citlali's arguments when Ororon was practicing invisibility arts and walked behind Ifa while he was traveling nearby.
Has A Unique Companion In Cacucu

Cacucu is a unique Qucusaur that Ifa once saved in the past. Ifa didn't have a companion Saurian but Cacucu is now his assistant. Whenever Cacucu wants to fly with Ifa, Ifa uses his Anemo vision to help Cacucu fly.
