What Is Elemental Mastery?

Increases Elemental Reaction Damage

Elemental Mastery increases directly amplifies the damage dealt by specific Elemental Reactions. Since two elements are involved, the EM of the character that activates the elemental reaction will be used to amplify the damage!

Increase Superconduct Damage

Elemental Mastery is able to increase the Superconduct damage dealt but the damage increase is not required for Physical teams since only the Physical RES debuff is needed from Superconduct.

Increases Crystallize Shield Strength

Crystallize doesn't get increased damage but an increase in the shield strength of the produced crystal shards.

How To Increase Elemental Mastery

Use Weapon With EM Sub-Stat

Elemental Mastery can be increased with the use of weapons. Specific weapons increase EM with their sub-stat and also provide an additional EM bonus from the passive effect.

Typically, players tend to prioritize ATK%, Elemental Damage, Crit Rate, & Crit DMG and ignore EM. With the release of Dendro, EM has become significant to the point that some meta builds have changed like Hyperbloom Raiden Shogun.

Secondary Priority For Sub-DPS

Most Sub-DPS can utilize EM since they can trigger elemental reactions even when not on the field. Similar to the main DPS, build their Crit Rate/DMG and ATK then attain at least 100 to their EM for higher elemental reaction damage.

Priority For Anemo Supports

Swirl damage scales with Elemental Mastery. If you are building an Anemo sub-DPS or support, it is recommended to focus on raising Elemental Mastery as much as possible. Since Swirl does not CRIT, you can prioritize Energy Recharge next to Elemental Mastery.

Priority For Dendro Characters

Dendro is the latest element that has been added to the game. This element leans toward Elemental Mastery more than ATK, even for DPS characters. The raw damage of Dendro could be low but the damage output from Dendro-related reactions could easily shred enemies' HP.
