Roles & Playstyle Of Mavuika and Its Strengths and Weakness
On-Field & DPS Mavuika
Mavuika's best role is an On-Field Damage Dealer. She has access to both huge instantaneous damage with her Elemental Burst and sustained damage from Charged Attack. This makes Mavuika one of the best characters in the role no matter what content you are facing.
Pros and Cons of On-Field / DPS Mavuika
| Pros |
|---|
| - Top Class pyro DMG and is among the best in-game. |
| - Amazing in both Single Target (Bosses) and AoE (Multiple Target). |
| - Easy to use and amazing at any type of contents. |
| Cons |
| - For consistency, you are required to put her in a team with Multiple Characters that consumes Nightsoul Points. LThis makes Mavuika's teams restricted and her damage potential locked on specific characters. |
| - Long Combo and on-field time compared to other DPS. |
Off-Field, Sub-DPS, & Support Mavuika
Mavuika also functions as a decent off-field character providing a total damage buff of 80% damage buff with Scroll Of The Hero Of Cinder City and Elemental Burst while also dealing huge damage and off-field Pyro application to enemies.
Pros and Cons of Off-Field Mavuika
| Pros |
|---|
| - Ability to provide huge amount of damage bonus. |
| - Wide range off-field damage and works in both single and multiple targets. |
| - Even in support build, she can still produce powerful one-shot damage with Elemental Burst. |
| Cons |
| - Compared to her competitors like Xiangling, she only apply Pyro on enemies once every 3 seconds. L Makes Mavuika not very good on teams that requires plenty of Pyro like teams with Tartaglia. |
| - The damage buff from Elemental Burst decreases with time. |
| - The Uptime of Elemental Skill is short making it not enough when used on teams that has longer on-field. |

Team Rotation of Mavuika and Combos
Team Rotation of On-Field Mavuika
| Basic Rotation Of Mavuika |
|---|
| 1. Use Elemental Skill (Tap) then change characters. 2. Use other characters to charge Mavuika's Fighting Spirit to 100~200. 3. Switch back to Mavuika and use Elemental Burst. 4. Deal damage with Normal Attack or Charged Attacks (CA deals powerful damage!). |
Despite being an On-Field character, you will normally want to start the rotation with Mavuika's Tap Skill to start generating Fighting Spirit early on. This should be followed up with the rest of the team using their abilities before you can switch back into Mavuika to use her Elemental Burst, where you'll be able to execute your selected combo.
Optimal Mavuika Combos
Basic Charged Attack Spam
| Mavuika Combo: Charged Attack Spam |
|---|
| Elemental Skill → Switch to Supports → Elemental Burst → Charged Attack x8 → Finishing Attack → Repeat |
This simple yet effect Charged Attack-based combo for Mavuika starts with her Elemental Burst before holding down her Normal Attack button to begin using her Charged Attacks.
You can hold this button down to have Mavuika spin on Flamestrider for as long as she has Nightsoul Points to do so. You can opt to finish the Charged Attack faster by letting go of the attack button.
Melt Team Combo
| Notation | Guide |
|---|---|
| Q | Use Burst. |
| C | Hold the Normal Attack button to start a Charged Attack (spin) |
| D | Dash while on Flamestrider |
| F | Final or finisher move. Let go of her Normal Attack button to end the Charged Attack. You can dash to cancel the long animation after the hit lands. |
| Melt Step-By-Step Combo Guide |

| 1. Burst 2. Charged Attack 3. [ Dash → Charged Attack → Finisher (let go) ] 4. [ Dash → Charged Attack → Finisher (let go) ] 5. [ Dash → Charged Attack → Finisher (let go) ] 6. [ Dash → Charged Attack → Finisher (let go) ] *Swap to your supports to restart your rotation after. |
This combo squeezes out a little more DPS in her Melt comps by triggering said reaction on her Dash and finisher attacks as well. The finisher move causes Mavuika to jump up from Flamestrider before performing a downward slash unto an enemy.
You can follow up this finisher once it lands with a dash, which conveniently also does damage. But you need to ensure that the finisher move actually hits the enemy before dashing.
Note! | You'll also need to wait a bit before executing the first Charged Attack (C) in order to properly time the Melt triggers, since you might accidentally override the Cryo application otherwise. |

Overload Team Combo
| Notation | Guide |
|---|---|
| Q | Use Burst. |
| C | Hold the Normal Attack button to start a Charged Attack (spin) |
| D | Dash while on Flamestrider |
| F | Final or finisher move. Let go of her Normal Attack button to end the Charged Attack. You can dash to cancel the long animation after the hit lands. |

Hold her Elemental Skill 7. Charged Attack 8. [ Dash → Charged Attack ] x 2 → Finisher (let go) *Swap to your supports to restart your rotation after. |
The Overload team combo is almost exactly like the Melt combo, just that this one doesn't need to worry about Elemental application, so you can immediately start inputting the next move after the first Charged Attack. The main loop also involves using a dash into Charged Attack twice before the finisher, which is different from the Melt combo.
It's still as essential to allow the finisher move to land on an enemy in this setup before pressing dash.

Basics of Using Mavuika (Beginner Guide)

Unique Charged Attack and Burst-Based Pyro DPS
Amongst the available Pyro DPSes, Mavuika has one of the more stand out gameplay styles due to her having a lot of special mechanics. Notably, she is one of the few characters that use a different type of Energy to charge her Elemental Burst as a result of its interaction with Nightsoul Points, which is an ability gimmick only seen in Natlan characters.
Additionally, a lot of Mavuika's hardest hitting moves have her ride Flamestrider, her motorcycle, while performing said attacks.
Note! | All of this contributes to the overall unique feel of Mavuika's playstyle that is extremely mobile and has a lot of room for skill expression thanks to her having a variety of attack combos. ▲ Click here to learn more about these combos. |
|---|
Has Nightsoul Point Mechanics

Mavuika is a character from Natlan, and just like her other companions, all her abilities interact with a special nation-specific mechanic called Nightsoul's Blessing, meaning she has a special Nightsoul's Blessing state that can continuously gain and use a resource called Nightsoul Points.
These points are indicated by a gauge or bar beside the character.
Nightsoul's Blessing Guide & EffectsEvery Ability Interacts With Nightsoul
All of Mavuika's talents are involved with the Nightsoul's Blessing mechanic in some way. Both her Skill and Burst in particular have heavy emphasis on her and her teammates' Nightsoul Points:
Enter Nightsoul State Through Elemental Skill

Mavuika's Elemental Skill (tap and hold) manifests the All-Fire Armaments into two forms, first as a Ring of Searing Radiance when tapped, then as her Flamestrider when held. Both of these forms consume her Nightsoul Points to maintain, and they also end simultaneously once Mavuika runs out of Nightsoul Points.
The Ring of Searing Radiance deals Nightsoul-Aligned Pyro DMG over a short period of time at regular intervals, even when Mavuika is not the active character. Conversely, the Flamestrider form infuses all her attacks with Pyro while also enabling her to deal damage to enemies while on her motorcycle.
Note! | You can swap out of the Flamestrider form by tapping on her Skill again. |
|---|
Elemental Burst Needs Teammates to Consume Nightsoul Points

Instead of regular Energy, Mavuika's Elemental Burst converts any Nightsoul Point consumed by her party members into Fighting Spirit. Once she has enough Fighting Spirit, she can then deploy her Burst and enter a special state called Crucible of Death and Life where her damage is increased by the total amount of Fighting Spirit she currently had when she first activated her Burst.
To charge her Fighting Spirit, you can either have Mavuika or other party members consume Nightsoul Points, or use Normal Attacks against enemies as other characters.
Note! | Her Elemental Burst can be used even when she doesn't have it fully charged. But keep in mind that the more Fighting Spirit she had after using it, the better the damage from the initial slash and the attacks made after. |
|---|
Party Members' Nightsoul Burst Gives Her a Stat Boost

A Nightsoul Burst is an effect that automatically activates when a Natlan character on your team deals Elemental DMG to an enemy. Each Natlan character has a different Nightsoul Burst-related effect in their kit.
In Mavuika's case, a teammate triggering a Nightsoul Burst increases her attack by 20%. This is the effect of her Ascension 1 Passive called Gift of Flaming Flowers.
Nightsoul Burst Cooldown
| No. of Natlan Characters | 1 | 2 | 3~4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cooldown | 18 sec. | 12 sec. | 9 sec. |
Nightsoul Burst cooldown depends on how many Natlan characters are in the team. For consistent uptime on the ATK% buff, it's recommended to have at least 3 Natlan Characters in the team alongside Mavuika.
How to Generate Mavuika's Fighting Spirit Quickly?
Consume Nightsoul Points

Mavuika's Fighting Spirit charges faster the more party members there are on the team that can generate and consume Nightsoul Points. The conversion rate for points consumed to Fighting Spirit is one to one (1:1). This makes it so that Mavuika has higher damage potential alongside at least 2 other Natlan characters since her Burst scales with her Fighting Spirit amount.
Based on our tests and plays, we find that having Xilonen and Citlali in the team creates the most stable battle rotation with Mavuika.
Nightsoul Blessing Guide & EffectsTeammates' Normal Attacks Also Generate Fighting Spirit
You can also gain Fighting Spirit by using the Normal Attack of other characters in the party. Mavuika can gain 1.5 Fighting Spirit every 0.1 seconds this way. This allows Mavuika to be able to cast her Elemental Burst at a reasonably high Fighting Spirit threshold for damage even if the team lacks other Natlan characters, so long as there is a DPS that has relatively fast Normal Attacks.

How To Use Mavuika's Skills & Passives?
Meta Pyro DPS With a Unique Playstyle
| Basic Rotation of Mavuika |
|---|
| 1. Start the rotation Mavuika's Skill (tap) to start building Fighting Spirit. 2. Deploy your supports' abilities in order of longest ability duration to shortest. 3. Swap to Mavuika. Use her Elemental Burst, then perform your preferred DPS combo. 4. Repeat from Step 1. |
Mavuika's unique playstyle and attack string, which involve her special Normal and Charged Attacks while riding her motorbike, have a lot of room for combo optimizations and this is what allows her maintain high DPS potential. She is an On-Field DPS that rewards mastery over both her basic mechanics and more technical combos, but she can also be deployed as an Off-Field Support thanks to her DMG% buff from her Burst.

Mavuika's Elemental Skill summons her Ring of Searing Radiance and Flamestrider. The Ring is what allows her to apply Off-Field Pyro at certain intervals, while Flamestrider is her motorbike. While on Flamestrider, Mavuika can execute her signature Pyro-infused Normal, Charged, and Plunging attacks.
Her dashes while aboard Flamestrider also deal damage to enemies whenever she dashes through them.
Charge Her Burst by Generating Fighting Spirit
Elemental Burst Summary
| Icon | Elemental Burst Summary |
|---|---|
Hour of Burning Skies | Mavuika's Elemental Burst does not use Energy. Instead, it consumes Fighting Spirit. Fighting Spirit Mavuika can use her Elemental Burst when she has at least 50% Fighting Spirit. - Fighting Spirit is gained through: - Nearby party members consuming Nightsoul points while in combat. - Nearby party members' Normal Attacks hitting opponents: • Grants 1.5 Fighting Spirit. • Can trigger once every 0.1s. Burst Activation: - Consumes all Fighting Spirit. - Restores 10 Nightsoul points. - Enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state. - Rides the Flamestrider into the air. - Unleashes Sunfell Slice, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Pyro DMG. - Enters the Crucible of Death and Life state. Crucible of Death and Life While active: - Mavuika's actions no longer consume Nightsoul points. - Increases interruption resistance. - Increases the DMG of: • Sunfell Slice. • Ancient Name Unbound (Skill) Normal and Charged Attacks. - DMG bonus scales based on the amount of Fighting Spirit consumed when the Burst was used. - Ends immediately if Mavuika leaves the field. |
| Character | Method | Amount of Fighting Spirit (FS) per Second |
|---|---|---|
Mavuika | Elemental Skill (Tap) | 80 FS over 12s |
Xilonen | Elemental Skill→ Normal Attack x2 | 90 FS over 1~2s |
Citlali | Elemental Burst + Elemental Skill | 84-93 FS over 10~12s |
Ororon | When Mavuika's Skill hits | 40-60 FS over the entire rotation |
Iansan | Elemental Skill + Elemental Burst | 105 FS over 15s |
Mavuika's Elemental Burst is her most important ability, and is one of the few Bursts that utilize a special Energy type. For Mavuika, she charges her Burst by storing up Fighting Spirit (FS). She gains this resource every time she or a teammate consumes Nightsoul Points, or after a party member hits enough Normal Attacks.
Mavuika can activate this Burst as soon as she hits 50% FS, but the damage dealt by the Sunfell Slice, which is the initial slash, and every attack you make after will hit harder the more FS Mavuika has.
Ideally Wants at Least One to Two Other Natlan Teammates
Ascension 1 Passive Description| Icon | Ascension 1 Passive Description |
|---|---|
Gift of Flaming Flowers | When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Mavuika's ATK increases by 30% for 10s. |
Mavuika naturally has Nightsoul mechanics tied to her abilities like other Natlan characters.
Besides needing fast Nightsoul point-consuming teammates, Mavuika's first passive further incentivizes having another Natlan teammate to pair with her in order to gain an additional ATK% buff since it requires a Nightsoul Burst to trigger, and this effect only happens after a character from Natlan deals Elemental DMG to an enemy.
Burst Gives a DMG% Buff for the Active Character
Ascension 2 Passive Description| Icon | Ascension 2 Passive Description |
|---|---|
"Kiongozi" | After using her Elemental Burst, Hour of Burning Skies, every point of Fighting Spirit present when it is used increases the DMG that the current active party member deals by 0.2%. The maximum increase obtainable this way is 40%, and this effect lasts 20s, decaying over this duration until it reaches 0. |
Mavuika's secondary role is that of a supportive buffer that can apply Pyro over a short period of time. Her second passive increases her Off-Field value on a team thanks to the DMG% buff that the active character receives once she uses her Burst. Said buff also applies to herself if you use her as the On-Field DPS.
Note! | Mavuika's DMG% buff will decay over time, meaning it's at its strongest for around the first 10 seconds. It's recommended to activate her Burst just before the On-Field DPS if Mavuika plays a supportive role in that comp. |
|---|
Flamestrider Can Be Used for Travel

Every character from Natlan has some form of traveling ability in their kit. And since Flamestrider is a motorbike, it's only natural for Mavuika to have good exploration capabilities herself. While she still has Nightsoul points or Phlogiston, Mavuika can board Flamestrider and use it to traverse across land and liquid surfaces, as well as briefly fly or glide through air.
