Use Artifact Sets To Provide Additional Buff
Layla's kit, at low constellations, does not provide much buffs to the characters. It is recommended to use Artifacts that provides additional buff to the team with their effects. Tenacity Of The Millelith artifact works especially well because it also buffs the HP of Layla while increasing Shield Strength and ATK of the team.

The main strength of Layla is with her powerful shields that scales from her HP. This shield comes from the Elemental Skill of Layla.
Off-Field Cryo Infliction
The shield creates a "shooting star" that tracks enemies and hit them with Cryo. The DMG scales from the ATK of Layla but unleashing its passive "Sweet Slumber Undisturbed" makes it scale from Max HP of Layla as well.
Uses Of Elemental Burst
Consistent Cryo DMG That Scales From HP
Elemental Burst of Layla allows consistent infliction of Cryo at a certain area. This has a low burst cost and has 100% uptime making this a great move for reactions.
Gives Additional "Shooting Star" For Each Hit
Every Hit from Elemental Burst will give shooting star to players protected by Layla's shields. This allows more damage from Elemental Skill to happen.

C2 is a Good Stopping Point
Layla's personal damage is noticeably increased by her C6, which can be good in her teams due to the additional damage contribution. Her C6 is hardly necessary though, and getting Layla to C1 to improve her shielding and even C2 for better burst uptime is going to be the ideal option Her constellations help ease her gameplay and improve her performance in her intended role, but you'll often find that Layla is already fully functional at C0.

Night Stars and Shooting Stars

| While the Curtain of Slumber is active, it will create 1 Night Star that will be attached to it every 1.5s. When a character protected by this shield uses an Elemental Skill, 2 Night Stars will be created. Night Stars can be created once every 0.3s in this way. A maximum of 4 Night Stars can be accumulated at any one time. Once the Curtain of Slumber has accumulated 4 Night Stars and there are opponents nearby, these Night Stars will transform into homing Shooting Stars that will be fired off in sequence, dealing Cryo DMG to any opponents hit. If the Curtain of Slumber's duration ends or it is destroyed, the Night Stars will disappear. If they are already being fired off as Shooting Stars, these Shooting Stars will last until this wave of shots ends.
