At high investment levels, where CRIT becomes abundant through things like 5-star weapons, the Galleries set becomes a far more optimal choice than the Marechaussee set, regardless of whether Furina is on the team or not. However, the Marechaussee set (paired with Furina) will still be the easier option for a balanced CRIT Rate to DMG ratio if you don't have any CRIT weapon for Skirk.

Skirk's Freeze team should only have Cryo and Hydro teammates. Any non-Hydro/Cryo teammate in the party will cause her Death's Crossing stacks to be reduced, leading to her losing access to the buffs provided by her Return to Oblivion (Normal Attack DMG) and her Mutual Weapons Mentorship (Skill level increased by 1) passives.
Does Skirk Need Escoffier and Furina?| Skirk needs Escoffier to be considered in the top meta teams at C0. She is Skirk's designated best-in-slot Cryo support due to how much value Escoffier provides with her Cryo RES shred in a full Hydro and Cryo team. Skirk is still playable without Escoffier, but expect her performance to be below top of the meta standards, especially at base investment with no Constellations or Signature Weapon. Escoffier ensures her some longevity against increasing endgame HP values. Furina is more replaceable than Escoffier, since DMG% buffs are more accessible and abundant (through weapons or artifacts) than RES Shred. But while you can substitute Furina, she's still a key component in Skirk's highest DPS team and a requirement if you want Skirk to reach her maximum potential. |
| Assuming Free-to-Play standards, Skirk without Escoffier likely results in a performance similar to or worse than some S tier characters. Whether or not she'll be worth pulling for when your account is missing one or both of her best supports will depend on the state of your account and personal in-game goals. |
