Her Max HP can boost the damage dealt by the Bountiful Cores.

Roles & Playstyle Of Nilou and Its Strengths and Weakness
Bloom Support Nilou
Nilou's best role is as the Off-Field Support for Bloom teams. Her ability to boost Bloom damage and apply Hydro Off-Field make her a great support even though her Hydro application is worse compared to other Hydro Off-Fielders.
Pros and Cons of Bloom Support Nilou
Pros |
---|
- Easy to build, only needs HP. |
- Elemental Burst isn't too important for her and it makes her compatible for Stygian Onslaught. |
Cons |
- Reliant on a character with good Dendro application to generate Blooms for her. |
- Nilou Teams require a healer but the 5-star Dendro Healer, Baizhu isn't compatible with Nilou due to his Shield. |
- Requires only Dendro and Hydro characters, preventing Anemo characters who could gather up enemies to be slotted in. |
Best Build for Nilou
As a Bloom Support that requires HP for her buffs, Nilou is best built full HP with an HP stat weapon and HP artifact set. She also doesn't need CRIT stats since Bloom isn't affected by CRIT. Energy Recharge is a low priority stat for Nilou because only her Elemental Skill is needed to activate her buff.

Best Weapon for Nilou
Since Nilou requires only one stat for boosting the damage dealt by Bountiful Cores, the weapons that should be used with her are the ones that can boost HP.
Premium Weapons for Nilou
Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
---|---|---|
Best | ![]() | Get from Limited Banner - Nilou's Signature Weapon. - Increases Nilou's HP by 80% as well as her Elemental Mastery based on her HP. - EM buff is shared to teammates as well. |
2nd | ![]() | Get from Limited Banners - Obtainable when it is on rate up on Limited Weapon Banners. - Weaker version of Key but it can still boost HP and Elemental Mastery decently. - Has Energy Restoration effect if you want to use Nilou's Burst more often. |
3rd | ![]() | Get from Limited Banners - Obtainable when it is on rate up on Limited Weapon Banners. - Boosts Energy Recharge based on Elemental Mastery and gives a weaker ER buff to team. Nilou's preferred teammates are Energy Hungry and any amount of added ER is good. |
4th | ![]() | Get from Limited Banner - Kazuha's Signature Weapon that is only obtainable when his banner is available. - Increases Elemental Mastery and gives a team buff that doesn't help much in Bloom teams. |
Aside from Key, the only other premium weapon that boosts HP is a limited 4 star weapon. If you have neither, Elemental Mastery boosting weapons can be used for Nilou.
Free-to-Play Friendly (F2P Weapons) for Nilou
Weapon | How to Get Rating | |
---|---|---|
Best F2P | ![]() | Craftable (Forgeable) Weapon - Provides decent Elemental Mastery boost. - Increases reaction damage of Nilou. |
2nd (Event) | ![]() | Get from Limited Event - Obtainable from Version 3.3's flagship event. - EM stat stick for Nilou to boost Reaction Damage. |
3rd (Loot & NPC) | ![]() | Looted from Chests or Talk to Chen the Sharp in Liyue - EM stat stick if you don't have Iron Sting or Toukabou Shigure. - Lower ATK stat doesn't matter since Nilou only needs HP and Elemental Mastery. |
Nilou's F2P options do not have an HP sword thus only Elemental Mastery swords can be used on her. However, with an upcoming region release, there could be another weapon good for Nilou in it.
All Weapon ListNilou Best Artifacts
Nilou's Artifact requirements are straightforward and simple. HP boosting sets are her best Artifact Sets with Elemental Mastery boosting sets second. See below for recommendations for her Artifact Sets:
Artifact | Recommendation Details |
---|---|
![]() ![]() | ★★★★★ - Since there's no 4-pc Artifact Set Effect that can boost HP, using two different HP sets work fine for Nilou. |
![]() ![]() | ★★★★ ・ - 2nd best 2-pc set effects for Nilou. - Since Elemental Mastery can help in boosting Bloom Damage, EM 2-pc can be used if you are still farming for Nilou's best set. |
![]() | ★★★ ・ ・ - Good for boosting Bloom damage but not great for boosting Nilou's own buff for Bloom since it's difficult to reach 70k HP without an HP sword. - Only use if it has good HP substats and you have Key to increase Nilou's HP to 70k. |

Prioritize Increasing HP over Elemental Mastery
To maximize Nilou's passive, you need 75,000 HP. Once you reached 75,000 HP, it is better to invest on EM instead of it. If you have the Key Of Khaj-Nisut, it is possible to reach 75,000HP without using 2 sets of 2-piece HP Artifacts. If that is the case, you can opt to use 2-pc HP Set and 2-pc EM Set.

- Nilou is the enabler for the stronger Bloom damage. With Kokomi's Elemental Skill providing enough Hydro Application, a Dendro Driver can be used. - Hydro Resonance with Kokomi increases the HP and benefits both Hydro characters since their abilities scale on HP. - Nahida and a C4 Collei can buff Elemental Mastery to increase the base damage of the Bountiful Cores. - Nahida is the Driver since she can apply Dendro with her Normal Attacks. |
While Emilie is a good pick for multiple enemy waves, Nahida is still the preferred Dendro character for Bloom due to her Elemental Mastery buff. Kokomi's powerful healing and Hydro application makes her a perfect healer for a Nilou Bloom team since the damage taken from Blooms is quite high. Collei has multiple sources of Dendro Application as a 4-star character and can buff EM when C4. She can be swapped out for Emilie if you have her.

Basic Nilou Team Rotation
Basic Rotation For Nilou |
---|
1. Apply Dendro with Sub-DPS characters. 2. (Optional) Use Elemental Burst. 3. Use Elemental Skill (Tap) thrice. 4. Switch to Bloom Reaction Driver. |
It's best to apply Dendro before Nilou's turn to generate Cores early. You can choose to use her Elemental Burst before her Skill if she has it available. In Stygian Onslaught, there's no need to do Step 2 since characters start with 0 Energy in it.
Basics of Using Nilou (Beginner Guide)
Core for Bloom Teams
Nilou's Passive converts Dendro Cores created by Bloom reactions into Bountiful Cores that have bigger AoE and faster explosion time. Her Max HP increases the damage dealt by Bountiful Cores.
Requires Only Hydro or Dendro in Team
Nilou is one of the characters that require specific Elements on her team for her buff to work. Similar to Chevreuse, she requires that only Dendro or Hydro Characters to be in her team. Adding any other Element will deactivate her buff.
Use Elemental Skill (Tap) Thrice to Activate Passive for Bountiful Cores
While Nilou can be used as On-Field Bloom Driver, she's better as the Off-Field Support. The Tap version of her Skill creates a Hydro ring that follows the character around and applies Wet to nearby enemies.
Other Characters are Better as Bloom Driver
Since Nilou needs to be built full HP, the base damage she can give to Bloom is low. An Elemental Mastery scaling character would be able to give it a higher base damage.
Use Elemental Burst to Apply Hydro
Nilou's Elemental Burst is an AoE Hydro Attack that also marks the enemies with Lingering Aeon. Lingering Aeon deals a Hydro Attack to enemies after a set interval.
Elemental Skill, Burst and Abilities Guide for Nilou
How To Use Nilou?
Bloom Team Core Support

Nilou is a Support for Bloom Teams who greatly empowers the damage of the Bloom Reaction. Similar to Chevreuse and Escoffier, she has an Element restriction for her team so that her buffs can work.
Requires Hydro And Dendro Character Only In Team
Nilou's buffs require that only Hydro and Dendro characters to be in the team. While it prevents Anemo characters who would be helpful for gather up enemies, both Elements have good Sub-DPS for Application and Healers to offset the Bloom damage since it hits both allies and enemies.
Recommended Characters for Nilou | |
---|---|
![]() | - Nahida's amazing Dendro application make her a great Sub-DPS for Bloom. She can also be used as Reaction Driver if you use Xingqiu or Yelan. - She can buff Elemental Mastery as well. |
![]() | - Emilie is often used instead of Nahida in Wave battles since Nahida needs to reapply her Elemental Skill's mark to deal Dendro damage while Emilie's Lumidouce Case stays on the field. - Emilie's power is not fully used in this comp unless there is a Pyro element from the enemies. |
![]() | - As a Hydro Catalyst user and healer, Kokomi is a very good healer and Reaction Driver for Bloom. - Using Kokomi as both healer and driver will be hard to do since her healing scales on HP while Bloom Drivers need Elemental Mastery. |
![]() | - Collei is a great 4 star who has many sources to deal Dendro damage. - Her C4 allows her to buff Elemental Mastery as well. |
![]() | - Yaoyao is a good Dendro healer and Reaction Driver for Bloom. - Her Burst healing makes it easy full HP most of the team and it also spawns multiple Yueguis that deal Dendro damage to enemies hit by Yaoyao's Normal Attacks. |
![]() | - Ayato's Elemental Burst has a wide range and deals AoE attacks regularly. - He can be built on full EM while utilizing his Burst and Attacks to apply Hydro. |
Use Elemental Skill (Tap) Thrice To Activate Buff
When all her teammates are Hydro or Dendro, Nilou's Buff to convert Dendro Cores is activated after tapping her Skill thrice. Once it goes on cooldown, the buff is active.
Passive Changes Dendro Cores Into Bountiful Cores That Has Bigger Aoe And Explosion Faster
Nilou's First Passive changes the Dendro Cores created with Bloom into Bountiful Cores that have a bigger AoE explosion and explodes earlier. Her Passive also buffs the EM of teammates when they are hit by Dendro Attacks aka the Bloom explosion that affects both allies and teammates.
Max Hp Buffs Bountiful Core's Explosion Damage
Nilou's Second Passive boosts the damage dealt by Bountiful Cores. It relies on her Max HP which makes it better to build HP on her instead of Elemental Mastery but she can still be built with EM if her HP is already 70,000.
Should You Pull for Nilou's Constellation Or Best Weapon?
Prioritize Key of Khaj-Nisut
Signature VS Constellations |
---|
![]() |
Key of Khaj-Nisut Is the Only 5-star HP Substat Sword
Nilou's Bountiful Cores primarily scale off of her HP, and she can easily reach the maximum HP threshold for her Dreamy Dance of Aeons passive with her Signature Weapon, significantly increasing the damage output of her Bloom teams. It is generally recommended to prioritize the Key of Khaj-Nisut if you want Nilou to start reaching her full potential as a Bloom-oriented damage character. Additionally, it can also be used by other sword characters with similar HP-based talents.
If you would like to get her constellations, C2 will be nice to have due to the elemental shred, but hardly necessary.

DMG dealt by Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion is considered Elemental Skill DMG and can be triggered once every 0.2s. This effect can last up to 10s and will be removed after Nahida has unleashed 6 instances of Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion. |

Dance Of Haftkarsvar (Elemental Skill)
Effect |
---|
Enters the Pirouette state, dealing Hydro DMG to nearby opponents based on Nilou's Max HP.While she is in the Pirouette state, Nilou's Normal Attacks and Elemental Skill will cause her to enter the Sword Dance and Whirling Steps stances respectively, causing DMG she deals to be converted to Hydro DMG that cannot be overridden and that is considered Elemental Skill DMG. In these stances, Nilou's third dance step will end Pirouette, and has the following effects: ・Sword Dance: unleashes a Luminous Illusion that deals Hydro DMG to opponents it touches and grants Nilou the Lunar Prayer effect. This effect converts Nilou's Normal Attacks into Sword Dance techniques, and her final hit will unleash a Luminous Illusion. ・Whirling Steps: Nilou unleashes a Whirling Water Wheel that deals AoE Hydro DMG and creates a Tranquility Aura that follows your active character around and applies Wet to opponents within its AoE. Nilou is unable to perform Charged Attacks when under the effect of Pirouette or Lunar Prayer. These effects will be removed once she leaves the field. |

Court Of Dancing Petals
Effect |
---|
When all characters in the party are all Dendro or Hydro, and there are at least one Dendro character and one Hydro character: The completion of the third dance step of Nilou's Dance of Haftkarsvar will grant all nearby characters the Golden Chalice's Bounty for 30s. Characters under the effect of Golden Chalice's Bounty will increase the Elemental Mastery of all nearby characters by 100 for 10s whenever they are hit by Dendro attacks. Also, triggering the Bloom reaction will create Bountiful Cores instead of Dendro Cores. Such Cores will burst very quickly after being created, and they have larger AoEs.Bountiful Cores cannot trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon, and they share an upper numerical limit with Dendro Cores. Bountiful Core DMG is considered DMG dealt by Dendro Cores produced by Bloom. Should the party not meet the conditions for this Passive Talent, any existing Golden Chalice's Bounty effects will be canceled. |
