How to Defeat the Bakunawa
The Bakunawa Fight Mechanics Provide the DPS

Unlike other 'bosses', the Bakunawa that Travelers need to fight in this world quest is special. The mechanics involved in the fight will be doing the damage for you, so you don't need to assemble a really strong team to fight it, but it's best to bring fully leveled characters anyway since they might get one-shot otherwise.
Use the Power of the Calamity of Eshu

▲You should be using the skill around the same time as the above example.
The Bakunawa's attacks can deal significant damage if it isn't blocked. When the Bakunawa starts charging its signature move, which is indicated by the sudden gust of Anemo in front of you, you need to use the Power of the Calamity of Eshu at the right moment in order to block it. A successful block allows the Wayob to do a counterblow attack.
Time the Shield Correctly
The shield that the power provides has a very short duration, so you need to time your usage of it appropriately to block the Bakunawa's attacks.
Unleash the Wayob's Counterblow

If you manage to time the shield or barrier correctly, the Bakunawa should collapse and be rendered immobile. Use the rift or portal opened nearby to use the Wayob's Counterblow. Activate it by pressing the in-game prompt to blow off the Bakunawa's arms. Both of its arms need to come off, so you need to block two of its special moves.
Use the Soulshard Rain Skill

The full power of the Calamity of Eshu is called the Soulshard Rain, and it becomes available for use after the Bakunawa loses both arms. It'll attack for a bit before the prompt to hold the skill appears. Press the in-game button first to use it, aim, then hold the skill to start charging it. The Soulshard Rain should release on its own.
Defeat the Bakunawa with One Last Counterblow
The Bakunawa should be rendered vulnerable again after you use the Soulshard Rain skill successfully. After this, another rift will be summoned beside you. Entering the rift once again should prompt you to release a third Counterblow. This is the final one you'll need to do to fully deplete the Bakunawa's HP.
