It has been revealed during Skirk's Story Quest that the humanoid form the All-Devouring Narwhal emulates is one of Surtalogi's known forms. After obtaining immense power, Surtalogi can freely change his form. The appearance of Abyssal armor is his preferred form.

Surtalogi is the person that saved Skirk and taught her how to fight. He is also the owner of the All-Devouring Narwhal. Before leaving Teyvat, he once beat up the Narwhal and left at the Primordial Sea for Skofnungr to see.
