Best Teams for Valeriy
Valeriy Prefers Stellar-Conduct Teams
| Team | Rating Description |
|---|---|
| ▼Stellar-Conduct Support Valeriy Team | ★★★★★ - Valeriy is one of few sustain options designed to be played alongside specific characters in a Stellar-Conduct team, particularly those that can make use of his dedicated buffs. - He should be the current best sustain option for upcoming Stellar-Conduct DPS Mitya, whose special Charged Attack requires him to stay in a specific position where he is vulnerable to enemy hits. - Apart from Mitya being his likely intended partner, Valeriy should also have some synergy with other Stellar-Conduct DPSes like Cyno and to some extent, Wriothesley. |
| ▼Electro Support Valeriy Team | ★★★・・ - Outside of Stellar teams, Valeriy's satisfies the shielder role while having the ability to provide Electro application, which can be a nice bonus to have for teams that want to trigger Electro reactions. - He can be deployed in comps that can take advantage of this feature, or alongside DPSes that can appreciate having a shield for gameplay comfort. |
Valeriy is designed to be an Electro Shielder whose dedicated Stellar-Conduct buffs make him a good fit for Stellar-Conduct teams, but his ability to apply Electro through his Burst expands his use-cases to a handful of teams that don't mind his Elemental application and would appreciate his Shield over a healer.
Stellar Glimmer Reactions
Stellar Glimmer Reactions Quick Info
The official umbrella term for both Stellar reactions is Stellar Glimmer.
Stellar-Conduct builds on Superconduct as the base reaction, requiring Electro and Cryo application, but flips its mechanics so that rather than dealing damage, Stellar-Conduct deploys a special area called the Polestar Field that gives Cryo and Electro DMG% to the party while simultaneously lowering the Physical RES of the enemies inside the field.
Stellar Swirl, on the other hand, is converted from Cryo Swirl. Rather than a Polestar Field, this reaction creates a Stellar Vortex that deals damage after exploding and at intervals. The damage and range of the vortex increases the more Stellar Swirls are triggered.
Remaining within the bounds of this Polestar field enables the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state, while triggering a single Stellar Swirl already applies the Radiance: Stellar Swirl state. The state is active for the entire party and depending on their abilities, this state grants each character specific buffs or advantages.

This variation of the Stellar-Conduct team features Mitya as the On-Field DPS. He makes full use of Valeriy's Assault Command stacks through his special Charged Attacks, and his stationary playstyle will greatly appreciate the increased resistance to interruption that a shielder like Valeriy provides

Odette | Cryo Traveler Rosaria Kaeya | - Cryo Traveler is a good F2P option, since their skill and burt provides a steady off-field Cryo application, which is essential to keep the Stellar-Conduct reaction triggering while Mitya is on the field. - Rosaria is also a good option since she offers great off-field Cryo application and her passive provides a bit of CRIT Rate, while helping Mitya's stats if you are running an EM-heavy weapon/artifacts. - Kaeya is also a good substitute, since he gives off-field Cryo support for your active character, making it easy to stay close to enemies while Mitya drives the reaction. |
Sucrose | Yae Miko Lan Yan | - Sucrose is the strongest last slot option for this team since Mitya benefits from her Elemental Mastery buffs, but you can swap her out for any other Anemo character that can use Viridescent Venerer or, if you have her, you can even deploy Miko in this slot for more team DPS. |
Mitya | Cyno Clorinde | - Valeriy's buffs only apply to Electro hits, so his best teammate is inevitably going to be Mitya and to an extent, Cyno, who can both deal direct Stellar-Conduct DMG. - A non Stellar-Conduct Electro DPS like Clorinde can also consider using Valeriy, but he may end up being an alternative in their teams rather than a strict upgrade. |

Valeriy | Skyward Blade A Day Carved From Rising Winds x4Main ATK% or Energy Recharge / ATK% / ATK% or CRIT Rate (for Favonius Sword) Sub 1. Energy Recharge 2. ATK% 3. CRIT Rate (for Favonius Sword) |

![]() Lauma | Nightweaver's Looking Glass Deepwood Memories x4└ Use 2 pieces each from a set that gives Elemental Mastery like Wanderer's Troupe and Gilded Dreams if the fourth teammate can't use Instructor. Main EM / EM / EM Sub 1. Energy Recharge 2. Elemental Mastery |
![]() Columbina | Nocturne's Curtain Call└ Prototype Amber can be an option if you're struggling to stay alive. Silken Moon's Serenade x4Main Energy Recharge or HP% / HP% / CRIT Rate or DMG Sub 1. Energy Recharge 2. CRIT Rate or DMG 3. HP% |
Being able to trigger a bit of Aggravate to boost some of Nefer's non-Lunar-Bloom hits on her special Charged Attack does result in a slight increase to her DPS, and Valeriy's shield will feel slightly more comfortable in practice than Kuki Shinobu, and can be easier to execute overall than Sucrose with the Instructor set.
Since Mitya is expected to scale with Elemental Mastery, Valeriy's Constellations might provide an EM buff that Nefer can also take advantage of, further increasing Valeriy's utility value in relation.

Substitute Characters

|---|---|---|
Nefer | Columbina Flins | - Nefer is the premier Lunar-Bloom DPS and therefor has no true replacement (apart from Columbina herself) for the role since no other Dendro or Hydro DPS character can deal Direct Lunar-Bloom DMG. - Columbina's Charged Attacks do count as Lunar-Bloom DMG when you have Verdant Dew stacks, but the damage is still weaker when compared to Nefer unless you have specific buffers, like C2 Nilou. - Alternatively, you could also consider using Valeriy as the primary sustain character for other Electro DPSes like Flins under certain circumstances, such as in the case of not having Ineffa. |
Columbina | Aino (C6) Xingqiu Yelan | - Columbina's Hydro application and relevant Lunar Reaction buffs make her the ideal Hydro support for the Lauma-Nefer Lunar-Bloom core. - Aino is the next best option, especially at C6 where she has a Lunar Reaction DMG% buff. Just note that her application's rate and AoE might not be enough to keep up with Nefer's optimized combo, which can consume Verdant Dew stacks too quickly. - Other options are a significant downgrade and only serve to apply Hydro for Verdant Dew stacks most of the time. |
Lauma | Columbina Aino (C6) Ineffa | - Lauma is Nefer's best pairing due to all the buffs she provides that Nefer can easily take full advantage of. Without her, Nefer's DPS sees a significant decrease. - The best way to replace Lauma if you don't have her is with another Nod-Krai character. Columbina and Aino take on the role of Hydro applicator, while Ineffa can provide a shield, some EM buffs, and trigger a few Lunar-Charged hits now and then. |
