Illuga plays a similar role in Lunar Crystallize teams as Faruzan does in her Anemo Hypercarry teams. He is the 4-Star niche support whose abilities are best utilized by Lunar Crystallize DPSes, likely with his C6 being especially impactful.
Enables Moonsign Ascendant
When added to a party, Illuga adds +1 to its Moonsign Level, which is the nation-specific mechanic of Nod-Krai. Each Nod-Krai character increases it by 1 level and at the 2nd level, various buffs for Lunar Reactions will be activated. This helps the characters that unlock certain buffs or passives when Ascendant Gleam (level 2) is activated.

Illuga was clearly designed to be paired alongside Zibai, who is the dedicated Lunar Crystallize DPS. In addition, Columbina is also the premier Lunar reaction support, so she naturally fits this team as well.
Rotation Of Lunar Crystallize Team

| 1 | Start with Columbina. Use her Skill then Burst. |
| 2 | Deploy Illuga's Skill before following it up with his Burst. |
| 3 | Swap to Gorou to use his Skill into Burst. |
| 4 | Switch to Zibai. Use her Skill, do a few Normal Attacks while waiting to activate her special Skill. You can do this several times. End the combo with her Burst, then Skill again. |
| 5 | Repeat from Step 1 once buffs expire. |
Zibai will unsurprisingly take up most of the field time, but aside from her personal combo, the team's rotation should be fairly straightforward.

Currently, Illuga's team flexibility is extremely limited due to how his abilities were designed to really only complement Lunar Crystallize and Zibai. She is his most ideal On-Field DPS choice unless a new Lunar Crystallize DPS is released.
