Raiden Shogun Works Best as a Main DPS

Raiden Shogun works the best with teammates that can buff her damage and also deal damage. Characters with high Energy costs also benefit Raiden Shogun since she can gain Resolve stacks based on the total Energy cost and buff her Burst mode's damage.
Incompatibility with Certain Sub-DPS Characters
During her Elemental Burst, Raiden Shogun uses Normal/Charged Attack animations but the damage dealt is Elemental Burst DMG. This makes her incompatible to use with Sub-DPS characters that require Normal/Charged Attack damage or hits instead of the attack movement. Beidou is one such Sub-DPS character whose coordinated attacks cannot be triggered by Raiden Shogun.

Durin and Prune's VV set provides RES shred for Raiden Shogun. With the multitude of buffs the Hexerei trio can give, Raiden Shogun can deal powerful damage in an Overload team. Prune and Nicole can be built with lesser ER since Raiden Shogun can charge their Energy as well.

Raiden Shogun's old Hypercarry team is the Aggravate team aimed at boosting her own Electro DMG. While the Aggravate reaction is good for boosting her damage output, it's still significantly less compared to the Hexerei Support trio team.
