New 8★ Tempered Monsters Added

n the Ver. 1.011 update, Apex Monsters, 8★ Tempered Monsters, including Gore Magala, become available starting from Hunter Rank 41. Various parameters such as monster health, wound susceptibility, and multiplayer adjustments have been modified for each monster.

How to Spawn Tempered Monsters

High-Difficulty Quest Spawn Scales With HR

In Ver. 1.011, with the addition of 8-star Tempered monsters, the likelihood of high-difficulty quests increases according to Hunter Rank. Adjustments have also been made to raise the spawn rates of multi-monster hunts and the appearance rates of powerful tempered monsters.

11 Weapon Types Adjustment

Great Sword Adjustment
- Fixed an issue where guarding immediately after turning would not properly block attacks.
Long Sword Adjustment
- Fixed an issue where destroying a wound during Spirit Helm Breaker's multi-hit caused later hits to not register.
Sword and Shield Adjustment
- Fixed an issue where Focus Strike with Sword & Shield on certain terrain caused continuous slashing while falling.
- Fixed an issue where Arch-Tempered Rey Dau wouldn't topple after a Focus Strike on a weak point.
Dual Blades Adjustment
- Fixed an issue where a Sliding Slash could not be canceled.
- Fixed an issue where Demon Mode attacks could still be used after exiting Demon Mode.
Hammer Adjustment
- Increased overall attack power.
- Boosted element scaling for Charge Shot and Overhead Smash.
- You can now evade while preparing an Upswing.
- Improved responsiveness during charge actions; sliding is easier.
- Enlarged hitboxes for Upswing and sneak attacks.
- Focus Blow: Earthquake can now be canceled slightly earlier.
- Fixed a bug where items selected via the Custom Radial Menu wouldn't auto-use after sheathing.
Hunting Horn Adjustment
- Increased damage for Echo Bubble, Performance, and Focus Strike: Reverb.
- Significantly boosted Encore damage.
- Encore and Offset Melody can now be canceled slightly earlier.
- Reduced Echo Bubble visual effects for better visibility during hunts.
Gunlance Adjustment
- Increased overall attack power and element scaling.
- Artian Weapons Improved
- Wyrmstake Cannon's consecutive hits now benefit from elemental values and crit rate.
- Shelling power adjusted: buffed for lower levels, slightly nerfed for higher levels.
- Increased Wyrmstake Cannon power for long shelling type.
- Slightly reduced Wyrmstake Full Blast power; Burst Fire power significantly increased.
- Fixed a bug where Wyvern’s Fire hit count varied with frame rate settings.
Insect Glaive Adjustment
- Kinsects now fly more accurately when using Kinsect: Harvest Extract.
- Fixed hitbox issues when chaining into Strong Rising Slash Combo from certain attacks.
- Fixed a bug where Kinsect attacks failed to apply ailments.
- Fixed an issue where consecutive Kinsect charges caused attacks to miss.
Light Bowgun Adjustment
- Increased Normal Ammo damage.
- Reduced Rapid Fire Gauge consumption when using Normal Ammo in Rapid Fire Mode.
- Reduced Rapid Fire Gauge recovery when using Pierce Ammo.
- Increased Spread Ammo damage and effective range.
- Increased final shot damage of Rapid Chaser Shot with Spread Ammo.
- Increased Rapid Fire Gauge recovery when using Spread Ammo.
- Adjusted Spread Ammo to allow slightly earlier cancel timing.
- Reduced movement distance caused by Spread Ammo recoil.
- Adjusted Elemental Ammo to reduce its maximum number of hits.
- Adjusted Elemental Ammo to lower its damage.
- Reduced Rapid Fire Gauge consumption when using Elemental Ammo in Rapid Fire Mode.
- Increased Sticky Ammo damage and stun value.
- Adjusted Sticky Ammo to allow slightly earlier cancel timing.
- Increased maximum number of hits for Dragon Ammo.
Heavy Bowgun Adjustment
- Increased Normal Ammo damage.
- Reduced Ignition Gauge recovery from Pierce Ammo
- Increased Spread Ammo damage and effective range.
- Increased Ignition Gauge recovery from Spread Ammo.
- Decreased maximum number of hits for Elemental Ammo.
- Reduced Elemental Ammo damage.
- Increased Sticky Ammo damage and stun value.
- Adjusted Sticky Ammo to allow earlier cancel timing.
- Increased Slicing Ammo damage.
- Wyvernpiercer Ignition damage has been increased.
- Increased maximum number of hits for Dragon Ammo.
Bow Adjustment
- Fixed an issue preventing charging after applying coatings in Aim/Focus Mode.
- Fixed a bug where some Power Shot damage didn't display during combos with Pierce Coating.
- Fixed an issue where knockback animation could be canceled by firing the bow simultaneously.

Update Ver. 1.011 includes adjustments to 11 weapon types. Most changes involve bug fixes and behavior tweaks, with power adjustments for Hammer, Hunting Horn, and Bowgun, and buffs to Artisan Gunlance weapons. Additionally, Hammer and Dual Blades will receive further adjustments in the second major update.

- All destroyed Pop-Up Camps are fully repaired during rest.
- Fixed bug with 'Maximum Might' effect removal conditions.
- Captured Endemic Life can now be previewed.
- Meal Vouchers from each region can now be obtained through Barrel Bowling.
- The activation frequency of Palico's 'Vigorwasp Delivery' has been reduced.

Update Ver. 1.011 includes adjustments such as enabling resting in Suja and Grand Hub, and allowing Mantles to be reused after resting.

Monster Hunter Wilds currently has two ongoing event quests. 'Running Wild' lets you forge the new equipment 'Sealed Dragon Cloth α,' while 'King of a Faraway Sky' allows you to collect 'Rarity 7 Artian Parts'.

Lagiacrus Comeback in 2nd Major Update?

Monster Hunter Widls Lagiacrus

A second major update is scheduled for the summer of 2025. It has been announced that new monsters and a seasonal event will be included, with a high possibility that the new monster will be Lagiacrus since official videos have showcased Lagiacrus's roar and some of its distinctive features.

New Tempered Monsters Also Added

The second major update will add new 8-star Tempered Monsters as well as new Arch-tempered Monsters. Subsequent multiple updates will introduce even tougher monsters.

Addition Hammer Adjustments, etc.

Hammer adjustments won't end with Ver. 1.011; further changes are planned for the second major update. These include adding 'Offset Attacks' to some actions and introducing new follow-up attacks during offset. Additionally, adjustments to other weapons, including Dual Blades, are also planned.

Layered Weapons Implementation

Layered Weapons is planned for implementation in the second major update, enabling the visual customization of equipped weapons by applying the appearance of alternate weapons..

UI/UX Enhancements

MH Wilds UI/UX Enhancements

Future updates are planned to address UI/UX aspects such as item restocking, checking skill information, ease of joining multiplayer, usability of Seikret, and camera behavior during hunts. While details are unclear, there are also plans for a general review of the game cycle.

◆A bug where the feature that causes the stagger effect to gradually become less likely after Gravios' part break is not functioning properly.
Verified: It is possible to farm and increase your HR without any issues.

Verified: Confirmed that the effect of Resuscitate wears off after cure.

Other Fixes

◆Even when the conditions are met, there may be cases where the Ingredient Center or Campfire Cooking is not unlocked.


◆The Monster Field Guide cannot be accessed.
◆When heading to Azuz during Main Mission: Chapter 2-1 Toward Fervent Fields, players keep falling through the map.
◆ During Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 The Root Cause, the hunter becomes unresponsive to some controls when talking to a certain NPC.
◆ During Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 A World Turned Upside Down, an NPC may not appear, preventing further progression.
◆At the Smithy, an issue may occur where tutorials are repeatedly shown, disabling certain options in the menu.
◆When guarding a monster’s attack with a lance using Power Guard under certain conditions, the weapon flashes in red but the effect is not activated
◆When using a mantle, a Weapon Equipment Skill may mistakenly be activated.
◆Some effects may be displayed continuously when using certain skills, such as Peak Performance and Self-Improvement.
◆When successfully performing an Offset Attack with the Insect Glaive’s Descending Slash under certain conditions, the hunter freezes and becomes unresponsive to any controls.
◆Addressed issues that occurred under certain conditions with screen rendering and causing force quits.
◆A notification or an Environment Overview Update may show that you have received a Meal Invitation when it is not available. (Some mitigation measures have been implemented.)
◆The Meal Invitation feature at Azuz and Sild does not unlock on some occasions.
◆An issue occurring when using Equipment Loadout, causing decorations to be removed from equipment, Bowgun Customization being reverted to default, and Kinsects reverting to the initial rarity.
◆When cutting off monster parts, the parts change into a monster part from a different monster.
◆An issue which may cause crashes or some monsters to act strangely under certain situations.
◆Some environmental features such as floating rubbles can be activated multiple times.
◆Palico’s support move, Attract Vigorwasps, may cause the hunter to become unresponsive to some controls.
◆When scrolling through the quest list, only the first 20 quests are displayed correctly.
◆An issue which may cause the game to forcefully shut down when starting a game with saved data that encountered a force quit.

In the Ver.1.000.05.00 patch update, some methods that were previously efficient for farming such as Nightflower Pollen and Zenny have been modified

How to Play Without Updating

You Can Play Without an Update if You're Offline

On PS5, you can start the game without updating by launching it without connecting to the network. You can turn off the network connection from the settings on the home screen.

You Can't Play the Steam Version Without Updating

For the Steam version, an update is required to launch the game, so updating is mandatory.

Be Aware of the Drawbacks of Playing Without an Update

  1. Can't play Event Quests
  2. Login Bonus cannot be received
  3. Unable to receive bounty delivery
  4. Cannot purchase new DLC
  5. Multiplayer is not possible
  6. Can't play the latest content
  7. Problems remain unresolved

Playing without updating prevents you from connecting to the network, which means you'll miss out on the latest content, along with other various potential drawbacks. It is generally not recommended to play without updating.
