This was unavailable during the beta test to let players try and experience the new moves. Many will likely be pleased with the return of this iconic action for the Insect Glaive.

Descending Slash and Its Charge Boost Offer a Wide Range of Maneuvers

With the addition of the Offset Attacks effect at the start of "Descending Slash" and the enhanced effects when absorbing Extracts, the Insect Glaive's versatility has significantly increased. Media playtesters who specialize in the Insect Glaive have praised it, with some calling it 'the best Insect Glaive yet', raising expectations even further

▼Descending Slash's Charge Mechanic Will Remain

It seems that there were some opinions about the charging mechanic for 'Sudden Strike Slash' being difficult to perform, but after considering the benefits of getting used to the controls and the expanded gameplay opportunities that charging brings it has been decided to keep the charging mechanic.

◆ Other action transitions that could confuse users or cause unintended actions are planned to be removed.

Guard & Counter Will Be Significantly Improved

The 'Charge Counter' now allows guarding during the charge and can be executed from any follow-up action. Additionally, the 'Power Guard' will now increase its charge level based on the power of the incoming attack. As a result, the overall effectiveness of the guard and counter strategies is expected to be greatly improved.

New Actions Added After Perfect Guard / Power Guard

Power Guard, you can now follow-up with a new action where the character jumps and thrusts the lance down. With this addition, more options are available after guarding, making it easier to deal damage.

Guard Dash & Action Follow-ups Are Also Planned For Adjustments

The cancel timing for the 'Guard Dash' that evolves during combos will be sped up. Additionally, minor adjustments are planned, such as removing follow-up actions that could confuse users or cause unintended activations.

Full Release Slash Damage Increased

Full Release Slash has been enhanced in power and responsiveness, positioning it as a decisive move worthy of the Switch Axe's signature attack. Additionally, the effect of immunity to knockback will also be added.

Balance Adjustments for Bows and Other Weapon Types

◆ Adjusted Power Shot to be centered in the aim direction.
◆ The number of Apply Coatings has been increased to 10 (confirmed in the video with Close-range Coating).
Community Update Announcement
◆Rebalancing the Bow with increased attack power and responsiveness of moves such as normal attacks and Arc Shots, while toning down the power of Tracer shots.
◆When targeting a monster with Focus Strike, multiple wounds are now locked onto one by one with a brief delay in between, rather than all at once.

Tracer Has Been Nerfed, While Other Attacks Have Received Buffs

The power of 'Tracer,' which was too strong, will be toned down, and in return, the damage and response of overall attacks (such as Basic Combo and Arc Shot) will be enhanced. This is not a pure nerf but rather a way to ensure that attacks other than Tracer can deal solid damage.

Focus Strike Now Targets Each Monster's Wounds Individually

The Bow's Focus Strike, which previously allowed you to lock onto multiple wounds at once, is set to be changed so that it locks onto each wound individually, one by one. This change will result in a longer Focus Strike duration, increasing the risk of receiving attacks and lowering overall DPS.

The True Charged Slash Improved in Final Version

In the Monster Hunter Wilds community update, it was revealed that the balance of the Great Sword will be adjusted. The hitstop, hit effects, and sound effects for the 'True Charged Slash' will be adjusted, and its damage is also planned to be buffed.

Hammer Upswing Adjusted In The Final Version

In the Monster Hunter community update, Hammer adjustments were revealed. It seems that the Upswing from continuous △ hits and the Charge Level 2 combo will no longer knock back allies when they are hit. However, be mindful that it can still cause friendly fire, so caution is advised in multiplayer situations.

Hunting Horn Balance Adjustment Summary

February 12 Demo Video
◆If you are equipped with a Hunting Horn that has the same buff melody effect on both the main and sub weapons, you can maintain the melody effect even after switching weapons by performing the melody on either one.

Community Update Announcement
◆Sub-weapon planned to be adjusted overall.
└ OBT only provided Attack Up (S)
└ Full version, with Attack Up (L) and extended melody duration, sub-weapon becomes too powerful.
◆Adjustments are planned, such as removing the status-up effects from notes for other hunters and the extension of melody effect duration when switching weapons.
◆The melody effect 'Self-Improvement' for increased movement speed is planned to be buffed.

In the Monster Hunter Wilds community update, it was revealed that the above balance adjustments will be made to the Hunting Horn weapon. In OBT, the melody effect only provided Attack Up (S), but in the full version, there's a skill that gives Attack Up (L) and extends melody effect durations, making sub-weapons too powerful.

Melody Effects for Other Hunters and Weapon Switch Adjustments

Adjustments are planned for the status-up effects on nearby Hunter allies through melodies. Additionally, changes will be made, such as the removal of melody effect duration extensions when switching to other weapon types.

Movement Speed Increase from 'Self-Improvement' to be Buffed

The basic melody of the Hunting Horn, 'Self-Improvement,' which increases movement speed, is planned to be buffed. While maintaining its value as a support weapon, it is expected to be balanced through these adjustments

Both Main and Sub Hunting Horn Setups Are Easier to Manage

It has been confirmed that when both the main and sub equipment slots are equipped with Hunting Horns that have the same Melody Effects, activating the Melody Effects with either one will maintain the effects even after swapping weapons. This makes it easier to use Hunting Horns in both the main and sub slots.
