At the Start of a Hunt
The easiest way to perform a Sneak Attack is at the start of a hunt before the monster detects you. Most monsters are vulnerable to Sneak Attacks in this state, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.
When the Monster is Relocating
Another common opportunity to perform a Sneak Attack is when the monster is moving to another area. If you are not actively following the monster, you will eventually leave the battle state, giving you a chance to land another Sneak Attack.
Use a Ghillie Mantle
By using the Ghillie Mantle for a while you will be able to leave the battle, so use this opportunity to perform a Sneak Attack. If you have no other alternative Mantles, this can be a great way to deal some burst damage.

Sneak Attack is a new feature in Monster Hunter Wilds that allows you to land a preemptive strike without being detected. To execute it, you must approach the monster from behind without alerting it. While it may seem situational, there are plenty of opportunities to take advantage of this move throughout a hunt.
