In Monster Hunter Wilds, weapons that can Guard can use Power Clash. You need to be able to Guard to use Power Clash so weapons such as Long Swords and Bows can't use Power Clash.

Repeatedly Guard against Attacks

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Power Clash occurs when you repeatedly guard against the monsters' attacks. Like mount attacks, the cumulative value accumulates with each guard, and when it reaches the required amount, it transitions to a Power Clash.

After Power Clash, Press △ Repeatedly

After the Power Clash activates, you will be pushing against the monster. You can push back by pressing the △ button repeatedly.

Becomes Difficult to Activate Each Time

The number of guards required before a Power Clash occurs increases each time it activates. The frequency it activates gradually decreases, so remember that it can't be used repeatedly.

Power Clash Only Works for Certain Monsters

Power Clash does not happen for all monsters and only activates for certain monsters. During the beta test phase, Power Clash has been confirmed to occur for Chatacabra and Doshaguma.

Easy to Occur with Perfect Guard

Perfect Guard will occur if you Guard at the right time when the enemy attacks. Perfect Guard is more likely to cause Power Clash than a normal guard so try to use it whenever you can.

Be Careful Not to Get Pushed Back

If the △ button is not pressed repeatedly after a Power Clash occurs, the player will lose the Power Clash and be blown away. You won't take damage, but you'll miss your chance to attack. So keep hitting the button repeatedly to avoid this.

Support Hunter's Power Clash

The Support Hunter's Power Clash can be turned ON and OFF in the settings. The default setting is ON, so you can change the settings if you want to turn it OFF.

Power Clash Effects

Damage & Knock Monster Back

If you win a Power Clash, you can knock the enemy back while dealing damage. This is your chance to land a big move, so try to activate it whenever possible.

Depending on the weapon type, you can perform special derivative actions after a Power Clash. All of these are powerful actions, so be sure to learn how to use them.

Great Swords can use "True Charged Slash" after a Power Clash. This is a Powerful combo that can deal great damage, so use it as often as you can.

After a Power Clash, the Charged Blade can use "Amped Elemental Discharge". If you have phials, you can also activate the even more powerful Super Amped Elemental Discharge (SAED).

Difference of Power Clash & Offset Attack

Power Clash- Occurs when you Guard with certain weapon types

- Each activation increases the number of times you need to Guard
Offset Attacks- Occurs when using certain attacks of some weapon types
- Damages the enemy while knocking them backward
- When used repeatedly, becomes harder to knock them backward

Weapon Types are Different

Power Clash and Offset Attacks

Power Clash and Offset Attacks have different weapon types that can activate them. Power Clash can be activated with weapon types that can Guard, and Offset Attacks are for weapon types that have Offset Attack Effects.

Both Knocks Back the Enemy

Both actions have the effect of knocking back the enemy when successful. However, both become harder to activate if you use it consecutively, so keep that in mind.

Power Clash Becomes Harder to Activate

When you activate Power Clash continuously, the number of Guards required to do so increases every time, so the frequency you can use it decreases.

Offset Attack Activates Less Frequently

When you activate Offset Attacks continuously, the frequency of it happening decreases.
