The location of Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds is at the water's edge inside the cave in Area 8 of Scarlet Forest. With a Pop-Up Camp nearby, access is convenient, making it easier to reset through map movement.

Tentacle Jig is Effective
Grand Escunite can be caught using the Tentacle Jig lure. The Tentacle Jig can be obtained at the start of the side mission "Razzle Dazzle".
Throw the Lure Towards the Tentacles
For Grand Escunite, the tentacles are considered its head. When casting the lure, be sure to throw it towards the head of the creature, or it won’t bite.
It’s Recommended to Reel When Luring

When luring Grand Escunite, it is recommended to reel towards the player. You can do this by tilting the L-stick down as if aiming for ammo.
Can Be Caught with Capture Net
Grand Escunite can also be caught with a Capture Net. However, note that it will not count as a catch, so if your goal is to complete the side mission, try not to use the Capture Net.
Reset by Moving to Another Map if Missing

| Step 4 | Repeat steps 1–3 until Grand Escunite appears |
If Grand Escunite is missing, move to another map and return to the area. Map changes involve loading, and the fish should respawn once you return.
Set up a Pop-Up camp in Area 8
To return quickly, set up a Pop-Up Camp at Cave Lake in Area 8. Also, by setting the environment to Plenty, you can increase the number of fish that appear.

Required to Complete the Side Mission
Catching Grand Escunite is a requirement for completing the side mission "Razzle Dazzle”. You must be on the mission when you catch it, and using the Capturing Net will not count towards mission completion.
Four Missions Must Be Completed in Advance
To accept the side mission “Razzle Dazzle”, you must progress to Chapter 4-3 and complete four side missions available from NPC Kanya.
