The PS5 version requires about 53GB of free space. It requires less space than the PC version, but it is still a comparatively large amount, so be sure to organize your storage.

Physical Version Requires 15GB Update

Those who purchased a physical copy of Monster Hunter Wilds still need to download and apply the latest updates of the game before playing. This update requires approximately 15GB of free space.

Downloading the high-resolution texture packs will need a total of 150GB of storage. This is double the size of the original download, so be sure you have the storage space before installing this optional download.

The Xbox Version requires approximately 56GB of free space. While still smaller than the PC version, it is larger than the PS5 version. Be sure to free up space on your device before downloading the game.

Also Have Space for Possible Updates

It's a good idea to make sure you also have extra storage space for future updates. After the final version is released, there will be updates to monsters and equipment among others. This will require even more space so make sure you have enough.

The requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds states that an SSD is required for the storage location. Since it will affect the performance of the game itself, including loading times, it is recommended to get an SSD with at least 256 GB of free space.

Just Free Up Any Space for PS5

The PS5 already comes with a built-in SSD so you don't have to worry about where to install it. Just make sure to have enough space for it at launch.

If You Want External Storage, Get an SSD

If you really can't free up space in your device, another option is to use an External Storage. In that case, buy an SSD External Storage.

Data that you won't need for a while can be temporarily moved to an HDD or USB device. Storage capacity is more important than loading speed in this case, so move unused data to a large HDD.

Most Video Files Are in the Video Folder

The storage location of recordings vary depending on what you used to record. Since videos tend to have large file sizes, look at your video folder and see if there are any unused or old video files you can transfer or delete.
