File Size - Open Beta

Beta File Size is Around 32 GB

The 2nd Open Beta of Monster Hunter Wilds requires a 32 GB file size across platforms, 3 GB larger than the 1st Beta's 29 GB. The actual file sizes vary by platform: PS5 uses 18 GB, while PC uses 24 GB. Additional space may be needed for bug patches, so make sure you have enough space.

The official release file size for the PC (Steam) version is approximately 75 GB. This file size is not uncommon these days, but it does require a substantial amount so make sure to prepare for it.

PS5 & Xbox has Not Been Announced

The required space for the PS5 and Xbox has not been announced yet. It is expected to be around 75 GB like the steam version.

Also Have Space for Possible Updates

It's a good idea to make sure you also have extra storage space for future updates. After the final version is released, there will be updates to monsters and equipment among others. This will require even more space so make sure you have enough.

How to Increase Free Space

Free Up Space on the SSD

The requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds states that an SSD is required for the storage location. Since it will affect the performance of the game itself, including loading times, it is recommended to get an SSD with at least 256 GB of free space.

Just Free Up Any Space for PS5

The PS5 already comes with a built-in SSD so you don't have to worry about where to install it. Just make sure to have enough space for it at launch.

If You Want an External Storage, Get an SSD

If you really can't free up space in your device, another option is to use an External Storage. In that case, buy an SSD External Storage.

Transfer Data That's Not Needed

Data that you won't need for a while can be temporarily moved to an HDD or USB device. Storage capacity is more important than loading speed in this case, so move unused data to a large HDD.

How to Delete Unused Games & Apps

Open Settings

Open the Settings from the Main Menu

Open Storage

Open Storage from the Settings menu.

Open Games and Apps

After opening Storage, open Games & Apps. All you have to do is check and delete the games you no longer play from the list there.

Upload Save Data to the Cloud Storage

Your save data will remain after you finish a game so you can choose to back it up or delete it. If you subscribe to Playstation Plus, you can upload the save data of your deleted games to the cloud. You can then redownload the save data when you want to play the deleted game again.

If you want to delete it, just switch to delete from the tab above.

How to Delete Unneeded Media Data

Open Media Gallery

If there is a Media Gallery on your PS5 home, open it from there. If not, open it by going to Settings → Storage → Media Gallery.

Go to "Select Multiple"

Find "Select Multiple" on the left. The arrow icon will sort by date or by data type.

Delete Media

You can delete unnecessary files by choosing the data and selecting "Delete".

How to Delete Unused Games & Apps

Open the Settings App from the Start Menu

Go to the Apps Tab

Go to the Apps Tab and select the Installed Apps option

Uninstall Unused Apps

From the list of installed apps, select the app you want to uninstall by click the "..." by its side. This will show the option to uninstall it!

Most Video Files are in the Video Folder

The storage location of recordings vary depending on what you used to record. Since videos tend to have large file sizes, look at your video folder and see if there are any unused or old video files you can transfer or delete.
