Use to Hide from Monsters

When you use the Ghillie Mantle, monsters will no longer detect you. Even if you activate right in front of them, they will lose sight of you. This makes it invaluable not only for escaping in emergencies, such as low HP or stamina during combat, but also for setting up sneak attacks on enemies.

Cancelled Upon Taking Damage or Attacking

When you attack or take damage while using the Ghillie Mantle, its effect will be canceled. Even if there's time left in the effect, you will need to wait before using it again, so use it wisely.

Useful for Capturing Endemic Life

Wearing the Ghillie Mantle while capturing Endemic Life prevents them from fleeing, allowing you to approach safely. This is especially useful for skittish creatures. However, some species may still escape even when the Ghillie Mantle is active.

Sneak Effect Lasts for 2 Minutes

You can check the Ghillie Mantle's remaining duration by looking at the glow of its icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Time decreases while moving but pauses when standing still. If you keep moving, the effect lasts for about two minutes, but staying still can extend its duration.

Cannot Be Reused for 5 Minutes After Deactivation

The Ghillie Mantle has a 5-minute cooldown before it can be used again. Even if deactivated with time remaining, it cannot be reequipped for 5 minutes. You can check the cooldown by viewing the item slider.

How to Get Ghillie Mantle

Available from the Start of the Game

The Ghillie Mantle is available from the start of the game and can be used immediately. It's also set in the shortcut bar by default, so if you can't find it in your item menu, check your shortcuts.
