Recommended Equipment for Gravios Farming in Monster Hunter Wilds is Water Element Artian Heavy Bowgun. The equipment shown above is an example of armor and decorations that can be reliably obtained, serving as a helpful reference for your Gravios farming setup.

Best Build and Armor for Heavy Bowgun

Having a Capacity Boost Helps Save Time

For the Artian weapon's Production and Reinforcement Bonus, we recommend Capacity Boost. Try to get this bonus when applying it.

Compromise Equipment

For weapons, any Artian weapon capable of firing Water Ammo is fine. For armor, there's no need to perfect it; just focus on assembling what you can.

Add Skills with Your Available Decorations

*This lists Decorations with single skills. They can also be substituted with double skills if you have any available.

Weapon DecorationExplanation
Stream Jewel III 3Can activate up to Lv3 with 1 slot of 3 slots.
Since the weapon slot becomes available, you can add other skills.
Crit Element Jewel III 3Increase firepower when a critical hit occurs.
Bandolier Jewel III 3Affinity increases after the 4th shot.
Opener Jewel III 3The power of the first shot increases, and the reload speed becomes faster.
Armor DecorationExplanation
Mighty Jewel 2Affinity increases when stamina is full.
Earplugs Jewel 2Activate Lv3 to nullify Gravios' Roar.
Tenderizer Jewel 3Affinity significantly increases towards wounds.
Challenger Jewel 3Attack and critical hit rate increase when Gravios is in an enraged state.

By adding skills like Earplugs or firepower through decorations in the available armor slots, you can further shorten the time it takes. If you have the decorations on hand, it's a good idea to equip them.

How to Farm Gravios

Gravios Fast Farming Guide

  1. Start 'Armor Like a Mountain' in Area 14
  2. Aim for Gravios' Abdomen with Water Ammo
  3. Replenish Ammo and Accept the Quest Again

Start 'Armor Like a Mountain' in Area 14

Gravios Quest Armor like a mountain

Accept Gravios' Optional Quest 'Armor Like a Mountain' and start from the Pop-Up Camp in Area 14. If you haven't placed the Pop-Up Camp yet, unlock it before accepting the quest.

Oilwell Basin Camp Locations & Map

Unlock Optional Quest by Hunting Gravios

The Optional Quest 'Armor Like a Mountain' is unlocked after clearing Chapter 4-1 by hunting Gravios that appears on the map, such as in the Oilwell Basin. If the Optional Quest doesn't unlock after clearing Chapter 4-1, try hunting Gravios in the Oilwell Basin or Ruins of Wyveria.

Aim Gravios' Abdomen with Water Ammo

Gravios is located right outside the camp, so start shooting Water Ammo. The abdomen is its weak spot, so aim for the center of its body to deal more damage. If you can keep staggering it, you can defeat it without taking any hits.

Using various buff and capturing items can shorten the time it takes for one run. If you want to improve efficiency, make sure to bring them along.

Refill Ammo and Accept the Quest Again

Once you defeat Gravios and complete the quest, replenish your items and accept the quest again. If you are going to use a lot of items, it's convenient to register them in your item loadout.

Benefits and Rewards

Easily Level up Your Hunter Rank

Easy to Level Up

The benefit of Gravios farming is that it allows for easy Hunter Rank progression. Since it's an optional quest, you can farm it indefinitely, and with its low difficulty, you can easily level up even if you're playing solo.

Additional Melding Options at HR100

Once your Hunter Rank reaches 100, additional melding options become available, allowing you to create more decorations and specify Artian parts. This expands your equipment crafting possibilities, so aim for HR 100 first.

How to Reach HR 100

Gather Materials for Smelting

The materials obtained from farming Gravios can be used for smelting. They can be converted into Armor Spheres for armor upgrades or Oricalcite for Artian weapon upgrades, so make sure to utilize them.

Do Event Quests During Blossomdance

Hunt Gravios in Gravios Blockade Event

Gravios Blockade

The event quest "Gravios Blockade", which was part of the Blossomdance Event, is a perfect quest when you look at it in total, with Gravios materials and a chance of getting hard armor spheres, as well as by-products such as meal voucher and ingredients. You can do it at the same speed as the optional quest, so if it's being held, do the event quest.

When farming Gravios Blockade with a Water-element weapon, the Uth Duna bowgun is highly recommended. As a forgeable weapon, it's easy to obtain and delivers clear times comparable to the Artian Water Heavy Bowgun. Use guard to counter Gravios’s roar, and incorporate Flash Pods and traps to control its movement and maintain offensive pressure.

If you've already forged the Artian Water Heavy Bowgun, it remains a strong option for this hunt. Open with a Sneak Attack to activate Ambush, then focus on firing Water Ammo directly at Gravios' belly. Use guard to counter its roar, and keep it locked down with Flash Pods and traps. In solo runs, clear times typically range from 1:20 to 1:40, with optimal runs dipping into the low 1-minute range.

Try Peak Performance if Ambush Is Unreliable

Ambush may not respond during Sneak Attack. If it happens too often and the effect is weak, it is an option to use Peak Performance, etc.

How to Farm Gravios Blockade

  1. Prerequisite: Use Water Element Heavy Bowgun
  2. Pre-hunt Preparation
    - Bring Flash Pods and Capture Items
    - Eat a Suja Meal to Activate 'Exploiter Meal'
  3. Continue Firing Water Ammo in Stomach
  4. Stop Enemy Actions With Flash Pod
  5. Capture It When It's Weakened

Use Water Element Heavy Bowgun

Water Element Heavy Bowgun Equipment is most suitable. Gravios is extremely weak against Water Element and can be defeated in a few minutes, and it is easy to operate, so you can start doing runs immediately.

Prepare Flash Pod and Capturing Items

Preparation: Prepare Flash Pod and Capturing Set

Prepare Flash Pods, Shock Traps, and Tranq Bombs in preparation for doing runs. You'll be using quite a lot, so don't forget to have some ready.

Eat a Suja Meal to Activate 'Exploiter Meal'

Exploiter Meal

Eating a Suja meal activates the 'Exploiter Meal' effect for 50 minutes, making it easier to break the belly. Be sure to eat one before starting the quest. Suja meals can be obtained at the 'Grand Hub' by using either a 'Suja Meal Voucher' or a 'Pick-a-meal Voucher.' The 'Pick-a-meal Voucher' can be obtained as a reward in this quest, allowing you to continue eating without worrying about running out of meal vouchers.

Continue Firing Water Ammo in Stomach

Keep Shooting Water Ammo in the Stomach

When the quest starts, go down and keep shooting the stomach with Water Ammo. Stagger will occur many times, so you can keep shooting Water Ammo.

Use Flash Pod if Sneak Attack Fails

When Gravios stops and looks around, sneak attack or normal attacks may deal significantly reduced damage. In this case, you can either be detected by the monster or use a Flash Pod to provoke it. While this prevents Ambush from activating, your damage will return to normal shortly after.

Stop Enemy Actions with Flash Pod

Stop enemy actions with Flash Pod

If Gravios tries to use a Dash or Breath Attack, use a Flash Pod to stop it. If you activate the skill "Blindsider", the range of the Flash will expand, and it will be easier to hit. It can be activated with Flash Jewel 1, so we recommend activating it if you have the time.

Capture Once Weakened

Capture it when near death

During battle, always look at the bottom left of the screen and when you see a skull mark, place traps to capture it. With the Water Heavy Bowgun, it will take about 1 minute 30 seconds even if you're playing solo.

Benefit of Farming Gravios

Benefit of Farming Gravios
- Just like Gravios, you can use Water Heavy Bowgun to kill people at lightning speed.
  - Sakuratide Alpha Equipment allows you to move around easily, and you can also expect to get higher rewards.
- It's an arena, so it takes time to move. You can't escape even if you're weak.
- You can go around in a shorter time than Optional Quest
- Quest rewards include ingredients and Pick-a-meal Voucher, Barrel Bowling Voucher

Extra BBQ Grill Ingredients Available

Gravios Blockade

"Gravios Blockade" is an event quest where you can get ingredients such as Kunafa Cheese, Droolshroom, Mud Shrimp, Fluffy Egg, and Sild Garlic. This won't be consistent as sometimes you get 5 ingredients as a reward, and other times you may get none. Collect more ingredients by repeating the quest.

How to Cook Meals Guide

Sild GarlicSild GarlicMoxie Meal (Lo)
When your health is approximately 45% or more, you will not run out of energy even if you receive more damage than that. (Once per Quest)

Obtain "Pick-a-meal Vouchers"

Pick-a-meal Voucher

You can also get a "Pick-a-meal Voucher" in the Gravios Blockade Event. If you use it at the Grand Hub you can eat a special meal so we recommend collecting it. When we tried, we only got one after 5 times, so the probability seems to be low.

Pick-a-meal Voucher Guide

Equip Sakuratide to Increase Rewards

Clear it with Sakuratide Alpha, reward frame will Increase

If you complete the quest with at least 2 pieces of the "Sakuratide Alpha" equipped, which can be created by clearing the "Blossomdance" quests, you will get an additional reward slot. However, the probability of getting a "Pick-a-meal Voucher" is quite low, so it will still take some time to get it.

Must Wear Sakuratide When Clearing Quests

Even if you start the quest while wearing Sakuratide Alpha, if you switch to any equipment other than Sakuratide Alpha during the quest and then clear it, the reward slot will not appear. Note that you need to clear the quest while wearing the Sakuratide Alpha.

Also Good For Raising HR

HR Points

You cannot get that many HR points in Gravios Blockade. However, you can raise your HR while collecting various ingredients, Pick-a-meal Voucher, Hard Armor Sphere, etc.. If you have no reason to be doing other quests to raise your HR, we recommend doing runs on Gravios Blockade.
