Are Blast Weapons Strong?

Powerful for Hunting Monsters

Blast Element generates damage and Stagger, so when comparing weapons with the same attack, Blast produces more firepower. Although it cannot create long-term attack chances like Paralysis, it is useful when farming monsters you are familiar with.

Not Strong in Multiplayer

Blast damage remains the same between solo and multiplayer. The benefit of Blast damage diminishes as the monster's health increases. Stagger's attack effect is also short, so in multiplayer it is better to restrain monsters with Paralysis.

Blast Element Effect and Damage

Deal Damage and Stagger Monsters

Blast Damage and Stagger occur when Blast Value Accumulates

When you attack with a Blast weapon, Blast value will accumulate and blast damage will occur if it exceeds the monster's Blast resistance value. At this time, stagger will also occur, so you have an additional chance to attack. Note that Blast damage increases the resistance value, so it is not possible to generate Blast damage continuously.

Trigger Blast Effect with More Hits

The have the chance to accumulate the Blast Value every time you hit the enemy. Therefore, weapon types that rapidly hit the enemy, such as Dual Blades, tend to accumulate status effect values and are particularly compatible with Blast Element.

Doesn't Work with Dragonblight

While affected by Dragonblight, Blast effect values cannot be accumulated. Therefore, when farming Arkveld, take precautions by bringing a Nulberry.

Status Effect and Blight Guide

High Rank Deals 150 Damage

Blast damage is fixed regardless of which part you attack, and in High Rank it deals 150 damage to all large monsters. That's approximately 1,000 damage in 7 times, and you can deal additional damage when the monster is Staggered, so it is an excellent damage source.

Skill that Go Well with Blast Element

SkillEffect
Blast AttackRecommendation level: ★★★
Enhance the accumulated value of Blast Element. (There is an upper limit to the enhancement of a weapon's element value)
Critical StatusRecommendation level: ★★
When a critical hit occurs with an attack, the status ailment value (Paralysis, Poison, Sleep, Blast) given will be higher.
CoalescenceRecommendation level: ・・
When you recover from status ailments or Blight, Element value and ailment status values will increase for a certain period of time.
Charge MasterRecommendation level: ・・
Charge attacks' element effect value and status ailment values increase.

When using Blast Element weapons, the above skills will be your choices. When you want to increase the number of blasts, activate 'Blast Attack' with the highest priority. Note that blast damage will not increase even if you activate "Bombardier".
