In the "Monster Hunter Wilds Community Update" livestream that was held on December 19th (Thursday), it was revealed that the performance of PS5 will be greatly improved. At the time of the beta test, even with the "frame rate priority" setting, the average was around 40fps, but it seems even in the scenes with multiple monsters, the number has been improved to close to 60fps. Showing the amazing progress in optimizing the game for PS5.

Prioritizing Frame Rate Will Reduce Image Quality

※The difference in image quality becomes more obvious with motion.

Differences in Image Quality when Prioritizing Frame Rate
- Some objects have different textures
- Overall, outlines and details appear to be blurry.

On PS5, you can improve FPS by changing the settings to "Prioritize Frame Rate". While this can improve FPS, there is a concern that the image quality (resolution) will drop significantly as a result. You can try it out for yourself and decide whether you want image quality or smoothness in fps.

Can PS5 Pro Might Be Able To Produce 60 FPS or Higher?

PS5 Proは60fps以上を安定して出せる?

It has been reported that the PS5 Pro has enhanced graphic expression compared to the PS5. PS5 Pro may be able to stable achieve 60 FPS or more while maintaining the quality of resolution. In addition, the new "Game Boost" function will improve the performance of PS5-compatible games, so you can expect better fps performance in synergy with the in-game settings.
