Is Likely Related To Monster Hunter 4?

Monster Hunter Wilds could also be connected to MH4 since they both showcase crossing sand field to get to various villages. The first area shown in Wilds is a desert area, which can act as a connection to MH4.
The Characters Could Also Be Related To MH4 & MHW
As will be discussed in more detail below, the appearance of a character that looks like the first lancer from MH4 and the first rookie in MHW suggest that the timeline of the story may be close.
Follows After MHW Because Of The Slinger

MHW features a possible encounter with the General from the Old World wherein he says he was learning how to use the slinger. This encounter can only be found after defeating Fatalis. This can tie MHW features with the Old World, further connecting MH4 with MHW.
MH4 Could Have Retired Already?
If this is related to MH5, the question of where the MH4 Hunter is comes to mind. If Gemma is the successor to the Commander, where is the MH4 Hunter and are they connected to any of the other characters?
Prologue Suggests Late MH4 Hunter
The prologue of MH4 is said to be the story of the Hunter in his later years. This makes it so that in Wilds, he could be retired already. However, in MHW and MHP2G, there is also a Hunter

Since Gemma's outfit resembles that of the Smithy's daughter from MH4 and she has the has work, it's predicted that they are the same person.
Character List - Voice Actors & RelationshipsIs She Wearing The Caravaneer's Jacket?
As seen in the trailer, Gemma is wearing a jacket similar to that of the Caraveneer's, who is a central character from MH4. The Smithy's daughter was also part of the same group suggesting further that they could be the same person.
The Doll On Her Waist Seems To Be Related To The Guildmarm

MH4's Guildmarm enjoys making stuffed animals. Gemma can be seen with a Yian-Kut-Ku's stuffed animal similar to the one the Guildmarm makes. You can see it on her hip, a sign of a relationship between them if it's true.
Is Alma Related To The Guildmarm?
Gemma has the stuffed animal, while Alma looks very similar to the Guildmarm based on her facial features. It is certain that they are not the same person, but they could be relatives with how much they resemble each other.
Could The First Lancer Have Become An Admiral?
Although the name has not been revealed, there is a character from Wilds' trailer that could be the First Lancer. Since he order the main character, it could be that he has retired as a hunter and now works as a commander for the fleet.
Voice Actors Between The Two Characters Are Similar
The voice actor for the First Lancer is Hiroki Yasumoto. He has a very similar voice to the character that shows up in the trailer making it even more possible that they're the same character.

Possible To Be Close To The Setting Of MH4
Near Cathar Village?
Windward Plains is a new area that's been revealed. This is a desert area that's very similar to the setting of MH4. Could it be near Cathar Village or related to it any way?
Might Not Be Related To The Forbidden Lands Of MH4
Monster Hunter Wilds is said to be Forbidden Lands. Forbidden Lands is also available on MH4. However, this area also exist in the game. So both of this Forbidden Lands cannot be related to each other.
All Fields Are Going To Be Grounded
One of the features of this title is an overwhelming sense of immersion through a seamless experience with no loading screens. This makes it likely that this title will be fully open world, and given this, it is likely that all fields will be connected to the ground.
Windward Plains Alone Has Multiple States

In Windward Plains, the first area the team will explore, there are not only deserts, but also grasslands and rocky areas. Considering that a number of such fields like in the Guiding Lands from Iceborne, different biomes may be located next to each other.
Is An Elder Dragon The Cause Of The Forbidden Lands?
The cause of the Forbidden Lands in MH4 is Shagaru Magala. Therefore, it is believed that the Forbidden Area in Wilds could be caused by another Elder Dragon. The new forbidden area will likely be larger and there's a chance that it's not just one monster, but a pack hat could be causing this.
Monster Predictions
New Elder Dragon Per Biome
Tying up to our first theory, each biome will have an Elder Dragon that represents each of them. Something similar to how Vaal Hazak represents the Rotting Vale from Monster Hunter World. This ties greatly with the 5 dragon in the logo of Wilds.
The Final Boss Is The Monster Corrupting The Biomes
Besides the five Elder Dragons per biome, another dragon representing the black one from the logo will also show up. There has been a number of Black Dragons shown in Monster Hunter, including Fatalis, but there's a chance it could be a new monster all together.
Monsters Will Greatly Affect The Weather Of The Area
With weather and environment being an integral part of Wilds, it seems fitting that monsters who can directly affect these condition will show up. Imagine Kirin going into a local and bringing a lightning storm with it!

Title Monster Yet To Be Revealed
Every Monster Hunter game has featured monsters that becomes the face of the game. So far, there's no title monster yet. The shown monsters currently do not seem to be the title monster.
Jhen Mohran

The desert seen in the trailers with the ship moving across it is reminiscent of how Jhen Moran, an elder dragon, was fought in a previous title. We may be able to attack and defend on the sand boats and mine for ore on their backs again as it happened before.
Maybe It Has Something To Do With The Sandstorm In This Game?
In past works, Jhen Moran was a monster that appeared with sandstorms. The sandstorm seen in the trailer could possibly come from an Elder Dragon like Jhen Moran.
Yian Kut-Ku

Yian Garuga Has Appeared In Iceborne
Yian Garuga, a monster with a similar skeleton with Yian Kut-Ku, has appeared in a 5th generation game. Having a skeleton has already appeared seems to suggest the possibility of its revival.
Pukei-Pukei

The Forbidden Area in MH4 is where Shagaru Magala is found. In Wilds, the hunter is appointed to go to a forbidden area. Could there be another area and forbidden area is just a common moniker for a dangerous area?
