Prepare Antidotes and Herbal Medicine

Rompopolo's attacks can inflict poison damage. Be sure to have Antidotes and Herbal Medicine ready in advance to quickly cure the poison status effect.

Shrink the Poison Sac

edited bloated psac

When Rompopolo's tail bulges out from its head, its primary attacks become poison-based, which can be troublesome. However, as you continue your attacks and damage accumulates, the Poison Sac reduces in size. This also weakens its attacks, making it easier to hunt.

Attack the Head Before & After Poison Spit

When Rompopolo releases poison, its weak point is exposed. Use this chance to attack the head and perform a Focus Strike to interrupt and create a knockdown opportunity for additional damage.

Focus On Breaking Wounds to Interrupt

Rompopolo's attack, where it drives its tail into the ground and triggers an explosion, can be difficult to dodge on reaction. However, breaking a wound can forcibly interrupt it, so if you think you won't evade in time, go for the wound break.

How to Fight Rompopolo

1▼ Be Mindful of the Poison Sac
2▼ Avoid the Poison Gas Explosions
3▼ Attack When the Poison Sac Shrinks
4▼ Watch Out for Ranged Attacks
5▼ Double Step Attack is an Opening

Keep an Eye on the Poison Sac

As long as the Poison Sac remains undamaged, Rompopolo's attacks will inflict poison. The poison is generated from attacks using its head, so evade, reposition, and focus your attacks on other targets such as the body or tail to deflate the Poison Sac.

Avoid the Poison Gas Explosions

After injecting gas into the ground, the area around Rompopolo will start to explode. The radius of this attack isn't large, so quickly move away to safety.

Attack When the Poison Sac Shrinks

When the Poison Sac shrinks, a large damage window opens up. Make the most of this by inflicting as much damage as possible. At this point, Rompopolo's poison attacks will is removed. Stay alert during its Turf Wars against Ajarakan since its Poison Sac tends to shrink during the battle.

Watch Out for Ranged Attacks

Rompopolo can target you with ranged explosive attacks. Being in front of the monster or within its targeting distance can put you at risk, so keep an eye on its movements and adjust your strategy accordingly.

Its Double Step Attack Can Leave an Opening

Rompopolo has a special move where it steps forward with both feet. This creates a small window for an attack, so remain vigilant and seize the opportunity to strike.
