Prepare Antidotes & Herbal Medicine

Rompopolo's attacks can inflict poison. Prepare Antidotes and Herbal Medicine in advance to quickly cure the poison effect.

Shrink the Poison Sac

edited bloated psac

Rompopolo's tail bulges out from its head. In this state, Rompopolo's main attack are poison attacks, which can be problematic. Poison Sac shrinks as damage accumulates. In addition, its actions are weakened, making it easier to hunt.

Use Traps to Restrain Rompopolo

Trapping Rompopolo is an effective way to deal damage and shrink the Poison Sac. Once the Poison Sac has shrunk, it creates an opportunity to perform combos and attack. Additionally, Ajarakan triggers a Turf War, providing another damage window.

Use Flashflies & Flash Pods

Rompopolo can be blinded by using Flash Pods and Flashflies. Use these to your advantage whenever possible.

Attack the Head Before & After Poison Spit

When Rompopolo spits poison, it will expose its weak point. Aim for the head and perform a Focus Strike.

Rompopolo - Known Attacks

1Be Mindful of the Poison Sac
2Avoid the Poison Gas Explosions
3Attack When the Poison Sac Shrinks
4Watch Out for Ranged Attacks
5Double Step Attack is an Opening

Be Mindful of the Poison Sac

While the Poison Sac is healthy, Rompopolo's attacks will have poison. The poison is generated by attacks coming from its head, so aim for the body or tail to shrink the Poison Sac.

Avoid the Poison Gas Explosions

After injecting gas into the ground, the area around Rompopolo will begin to explode. The radius of this attack isn't large, so quickly move out and get to safety.

Attack When the Poison Sac Shrinks

Once the Poison Sac has shrunk, you will have a sizable damage window. Take advantage of this by dealing as much damage as possible. The poison effect on Rompopolo's attacks is also removed. Additionally, the Poison Sac seems to shrink after the Turf War with Ajarakan.

Watch Out for Ranged Attacks

Rompopolo can also launch ranged explosive attacks at the Hunter. There is a high risk of being hit if you are in front of or far away from it. Watch its movements and adjust accordingly.

Double Step Attack is an Opening

Rompopolo has a unique attack where it steps forward with both feet. There will be a small opening for an attack, so keep an eye out and be aggressive when it happens.
