How to create and join a lobby in Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds). See how to search and play in the lobby with friends or create your own lobby.

How to Create a Lobby

Create from Title Screen or Alma

Create from Title or Alma

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can create a Lobby from either the title screen or the NPC, Alma. On the Lobby selection screen, choose 'Private Lobby'.

Private Lobby Specifications

  1. Private Lobby Hidden from Search
  2. Other Players Can Join Only via ID Search
  3. Up to 16 Players Can Join

How to Check the Lobby ID

Check Lobby ID From Lobby Members List

Lobby ID

You can check the Monster Hunter Wilds Lobby ID in the Lobby Members List under the Player List in the menu. From this screen, you can also check the list and number of members in the lobby.

How to Play with Friends in the Lobby

1. Join by Searching for the Lobby ID

Select "Lobby ID Search" from Alma

To join with friends via Lobby ID search, select 'Lobby ID Search' from Alma at the base camp.

Enter your Friend's Lobby ID
Enter Lobby ID

A screen to enter the ID will be displayed. Enter your friend's lobby ID. Once you have completed your entry, you will be moved to your friend's lobby.

Check the Lobby ID from the Lobby Member List

You can check the Lobby ID from the Lobby Member List under Player List in the menu.

2. Join from Hunter Friend Search

Select Hunter Friend Search from the Menu

To join a Hunter Friend's Lobby, select 'Hunter Friend Search' from Alma at the base camp.

If you select the Hunter friend who is in the lobby, you can move to their lobby.

3. Join using Environment Link Function

Ask for the Hunter ID

You will need a Hunter ID to form a Link Party, so ask your friends to tell you their Hunter ID, which can be found in the 'Hunter Profile' menu

Select Invite to Link Party from the Menu

To form a link party to play with your friends, select Invite to Link Party from the Link Party Menu.

Enter your Friend's ID to Form a Party

Display the "Hunter ID" search screen on the Link Party Invitation screen, enter your friend's Hunter ID, and invite them to a Link Party.

Invite Everyone to the Environment Link
Environment link

After forming a link party, you can invite everyone to the Environment Link. You will be able to explore the same area, even if you have not received a quest.

Share your Hunter ID
Hunter ID EN

You will need a Hunter ID to link environments, so share your Hunter ID, which can be found in the "Hunter Profile" menu with your friends.

Accept the Link Party Invite

When you receive a party invitation from the link party leader, open the 'Invitation List' under Communication in the menu. Select approve invitation to join the link party.

If the Link Party leader applied for an environment link after forming a party, another invitation will be sent to your 'Invitation List'. Once you receive the invitation, approve it.

Server with Your Friends Only

If you link the environment, you will be able to play in an area with only up to 4 party members, so you can play without any other players in the lobby except for your friends or party members which is a big advantage.

Move from Title Screen or Talk to Alma

Title Screen or Alma

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can move between lobbies from the title screen or by talking to the NPC, Alma. You can either choose the lobby you want to join or automatically join a recommended lobby.

Change Lobby Menu

Recommended LobbyJoin a random Lobby.
Lobby SearchJoin from Hunter Friend Search, or Lobby ID Search.
Private LobbyCreate a Private Lobby that can only be joined via Lobby ID Search.
Online Single PlayerStart the Game in Online Mode without joining a Lobby.
Disband LobbyThe disband option is only available to private lobby hosts.

Search with Specific Preference

Conditional Search

If you set your preferences when searching for a lobby, you can find lobbies with fewer players or see the level of the players in that lobby.

Private Lobby is Best for Playing with Friends

Environment Link Invitation

A Private Lobby is a lobby that only players who know the Lobby ID can join, and up to 16 players can participate. It is recommended for playing with friends or certain players.
