The recommended way to farm Armor Spheres is by acquiring them via Refining, Quest Rewards, or Limited Bounties!

Refine Excess Materials

Monster Hunter Wilds Oilwell Basin map

The most efficient way to gather Armor Spheres is by refining them with Roqul in Oilwell Basin. Speak to Roqul to convert your excess monster materials to points that go towards Armor Spheres. The higher quality a material, the more points you receive from refinement.

Since players will naturally collect excess materials as they progress through the game, this method is usable by everyone who has unlocked refining by clearing chapter 2 and defeating Nu Udra.

Gravios Blockade is the Best Farming Quest

Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) - Gravios

Hunting Gravios via the quest Gravios Blockade is the best and most efficient way to gather monster materials for refining. Note that it is only available for a limited-time during the Blossomdance event.

Armor Like a Mountain is the Second Best

Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) - Armor Like a Mountain

Once the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance event ends, the second best farm is the Armor Like a Mountain Optional Quest. As long as you have the right equipment, anyone can successfully use this material farming method, so make your preparations accordingly!

How to Farm Gravios

Gather from Quest Rewards

Monster Hunter Wilds Quest counter

Armor Spheres can be obtained as rewards from most quests. As you work on raising your Hunter Rank or gathering materials, you'll naturally collect them. This method is recommended for those who want to spend their monster materials refining Oricalcite for Artian Weapons instead of using them as fodder for Armor Spheres.

Rare Armor Spheres can be obtained as High Rank quest rewards. Materials that are good for refining are also typically High Rank monster materials, so you can think of refining and quest runs as a set!

Complete Limited Bounties

Monster Hunter Wilds Limited Bounty

Completing Limited Bountes at the support desk may grant you the top-tier Heavy Armor Spheres. Limited Bounties require an online connection to be accepted, but they offer valuable items beyond just Armor Spheres, such as Oricalcite and various tickets, so check the bounty details regularly.

Limited Bounties

Repeat Event Quests

Gravios Blockade is Highly Recommended

The Limited-Time Event Quest Gravios Blockade is highly recommended since you can receive Gravios materials for refining, cooking ingredients from various locales, and meal tickets. While this quest does not guarantee Armor Spheres, it can be seen as the best quest to farm because of how easy it is and its abundance of useful rewards.

Tongue Tied for Armor Spheres

Tongue Tied is another Limited-Time Event Quest that is perfect for farming High Rank Armor Spheres. Chatacabra can be defeated fairly quickly, and the quest rewards include Hard Armor Spheres and Heavy Armor Spheres, so consider completing the quest while it's available!

Item Trades Not Recommended

Item Trade map marker

Various Armor Spheres can be acquired via Item Trades. However, we do not recommend farming Armor Spheres this way because the required items, Ancient Wyvern Coins and Nightflower Pollen, are difficult to obtain and better used for other things.

How to Use Armor Sphere

For Upgrading Armor

Monster Hunter Wilds Upgrade Armor

Armor Spheres are essential materials for armor upgrades. By using them in the Smithy's to enhance armor, its value increases, and levels up after reaching a certain number of points. The rarer the Armor Sphere, the higher the enhancement points.

Max Level Varies Per Rarity

RarityMax Lv.
Rare 5Lv. 18
Rare 6Lv. 14
Rare 7Lv. 9
Rare 8Lv. 8

The max level of certain armor pieces is dependent on their rarity. The lower the rarity of the armor, the higher its max level, allowing you to slot low rarity equipment without worrying too much about a large disparity with their defense stat. Note that the higher the rarity of the armor, the more expensive its upgrade costs, so make sure that you have enough Zenny as well as Armor Spheres.
