The best weapon for the Great Sword at early High Rank is the Buster Sword III, which you can get by upgrading the Buster Sword II by Chapter 4. The materials can be gathered at the Ruins of Wyveria when you reach HR20. The weapon will have Critical Draw Lv3, its affinity can reach up to 100% when drawing your weapon.
For the armor, its recommended to center it around the Doshaguma Alpha set that can be made by Chapter 4. Since the amount of damage increases at High Rank, its recommended to upgrade your equipment as soon as you get there.
After reaching HR35 and hunting High Rank Rey Dau, you can make use of the Valyrie Blade II. In addition to its White Sharpness, it has a 15% Affinity and the Poison Element along with the Skills needed to boost the Poison.
As you climb to reach HR40, its best to run both the Jin Dahaad set and the Doshaguma set. While the monster is enraged, you get increased Attack through Agitator. Power Clash will also increase your damage after you successfully perform i.t
At early High Rank, the best weapon to use is the Barina Flamberge III. Continuing from Low Rank, continue to use the Barina Flamberge II and upgrade it. Rathian's Wyvern Blade Verde I is also a good weapon to use with even higher damage.
The Allow Alpha Set and the Rathian Set mix build is the recommended armor build at early High Rank. Rathian's set comes with Foray that can increase Attack and Affinity while attacking monsters afflicted by Paralysis or Poison.
For the Armor Set, combine G. Ebony Alpha Set and Commission Set. This will give you Quick Sheath Lv2.
Without Commission Set
To craft the Commission Set, you will need to get Commission Tickets. If you can't create the set yet, upgrade to get the Sheathe Charm II. To get Lv3, use with the Alloy Set arm or the Uth Duna arm.
At early High Rank, the best S&S is the Barina Dague III. Continue upgrading the Barina Dague as you go through Low Rank. Rathian's Princess Rapier is also a good alternative.
Rathian's Armor set is best to use at Early High Rank because of its Skill "Foray". This increases Attack and Affinity against monsters aflicted with either Paralysis or Poison.
Up to HR40, the best armor is the G. Ebony Odogaron Alpha. Since the Sword & Shield is compatible with Burst, having 4 parts of the G. Ebony Odogaron armor to get the Burst Boost II is highly recommended.
For early High Rank, the Twin Flames I is the best weapon for the Dual Blades. It has a blue Sharpness and comes with Critical Boost Lv3. It can be created by Chapter 4.
The best armor for the Dual Blades at early High Rank is the Rathalos Set. It can be crafted by Chapter 4. Since the monsters deal more damage at High Rank, upgrading for survival rather than performance is best.
Jin Dhakoo is highly recommended until you reach HR40. Its Attack and Ice Element are powerful and have white Sharpness. Its Focus skill will make charging the Demon Gauge easier.
At HR20, you can fight against the Guardian Ebony Odogoran to be able to create the Chthonian Kusarigamas II. The weapon has a long blue Sharpness and high Dragon Element. It comes with Power Prolonger as well.
Right before HR40, the best Armor for the Dual Blades is the Guardian Ebony Odogaron's set. It comes with a lot of empty decoration slots, allowing you to add Decorations for Evade Window, Marathon Runner, or Stamina Surge.
At the start of High Rank (Chapter 4), the Doshaguma Set is recommended. This will give you the Doshaguma's Might, which will increase your damage with successful Offset Attacks.
For up to HR40, the Jail Hammer IV is the best weapon to use. It has high Attack and white Sharpness, making it a versatile and powerful weapon. It also has Paralysis!
Jin Dahaad's Armor is the best up to HR40 due to its Agitator Lv5, which increases Attack when a monster is enraged. The Talisman can be changed to suit the style, such as Marathon Runner or Stamina Surge.
For Chapter 4, the recommended weapon is Rey Perun II. Unlike G. Veldian Sibilus, Rey Perun II only has Horn Maestro Lv1, but because of its blue sharpness, it can consistently deal damage against monsters with tougher hides.
Chapter 4 is when Hunters start to take on High Rank quests and Monsters. At this stage, we recommend crafting the High Rank Rathalos set for Evade Window and Adrenaline Rush. Using Ajarakan's greaves as your off-piece grants the useful Partbreaker skill which increases the damage of your focus strikes.
A mixed set between Nu Udra Alpha and G. Ebony Beta is recommended for HR35-40. The Group Skill Load's Favor increases attack when melodies are active, while the G. Ebony pieces provide access to Burst.
Lance's recommended weapon for the early stages of High Rank is "Quematrice Lanza III". It can be strengthened in Chapter 4. In addition to Guard Lv 2, it has a Fire Element that is effective against Jin Dahaad which you will be hunting during Chapter 5.
Use Windpierce Lance for Monsters strong against Fire
Lance's recommended early high rank armor is the Doshaguma Alpha armor that can be made from Chapter 4. Damage taken from monsters will greatly increase in high-level environments, so update your armor before proceeding with the story.
The recommended weapon for the Lance up to HR40 is the Windpierce III. You can upgrade it by defeating High Rank's Jin Dahaad at HR32. It has Guard Lv3 and white Sharpness gauge, and the Ice Element is a weakness for Rey Dau, who you will fight in Chapter 5.
The recommended armor for the Lance up to HR40 is the Guardian Ebony Alpha. When you reach HR20, you can fight the High Rank Guardian Ebony in Ruins of Wyveria, so update your armor based on Odoragon Alpha by then.
The recommended early High-Rank Gunlance weapon is "Quematrice Culebrina III." Since it becomes available for upgrade in Chapter 4, enhance it as soon as possible.
The recommended early High-Rank Gunlance for the Wide Type is the "White Gunlance." It becomes available in Chapter 4. Its high Attack power and decent Shelling capability make it an attractive choice. While its Sharpness and negative Affinity may be concerns, once fully upgraded, it becomes an excellent weapon with improved Sharpness.
The recommended early High-Rank Gunlance for the Wide Type is "G.Veldian Hasta II." Since it becomes available for upgrade in Chapter 4, upgrade it as soon as possible.
The recommended armor for early High Rank is Doshaguma Alpha that can be crafted in Chapter 4. While increasing Defense, it also uses Power house II. Evade Extender is also powerful so Hirabami Headdress Alpha and Leaping Charm have been chosen.
The recommended weapon for early High Rank Gunlance users is Hope Gunlance V. At HR32, you can obtain materials from High Rank Jin Dahaad, making upgrades easier. This significantly boosts Sharpness and Attack.
The recommended weapon for early High Rank Gunlance users is to continue using "G. Veldian Hasta II." At this stage, further upgrades are unavailable, making its overall stats relatively low. Thus, focus on a Shelling-centered playstyle.
The recommended Gunlance armor setup for early High Rank is the Guardian Odogaron Alpha set. At HR 20, you can fight the High Rank Ebony Odogaron in the Ruins of Wyveria, making it possible to upgrade your armor set to the Odogaron Alpha. By activating Burst Effect and Burst Boost Effect, you can achieve a near-endless attack power boost.
At early High Rank, it's best to go with the Iron Accelerator III. It can be upgraded as you progress through the story and reach the Ruins of Wyveria. You can use this weapon up until HR40 .
For the Armor set, center it around Lala Barina's Alpha equipment which can be made by Chapter 4. This will give you Foray Lv5 that goes well with Iron Accelerator's Poison Element.
Up to HR40, the best armor to use is the G. Ebony Odogaron Set. When you reach HR20, you can fight High Rank Guardian Ebony Odogaron in the Ruins of Wyveria. You can take advantage of the armor's attack increase with Burst and the Poison element of the Iron Accelerator III at Foray Lv3.
Barina Bouclier III is recommended for the early High Rank. You can easily upgrade it by defeating Lala Barina so it is relatively easy to get while having Skill.
Starting from Chapter 4, you'll enter High Rank, so it's recommended to refresh your armor and increase your Defense. The Charge Blade benefits from Focus Strike, making the Ajarakan α set ideal for activating 'Partbreaker Lv3.' Additionally, the Doshaguma α set with 'Doshaguma's Might' enhances Fire Power through Power Clash.
For Charge Blade at HR40, we recommend using Barina Bouclier IV. Since you will be facing plenty of strong monsters, Paralysis will be more helpful than ever.
In Chapter 5, you can craft the High Rank Ebony Odogaron Equipment. This build activates 'Burst,' which works well with Power Axe Mode. Additionally, Charge Blade's Focus Strike allows for a smooth transition into Power Axe Mode, and the Ajarakan legs with 'Partbreaker' increase damage to broken parts, boosting Wound damage.
The Iron Gale I is the recommended Insect Glaive at High Rank. In addition to its high Attack and green Sharpness, it has Critical Draw that can increase Affinity by 50%. There is no need to collect materials since you can make it as you progress through the story.
Once you reach HR35 and defeat Rey Dau, you will gain access to the Rey Halilintar III. It's a strong weapon that comes with white Sharpness and Focus Lv2.
High Rank sets cannot increase Attack with no skills that mesh wth Insect Glaive. For some people, the Balahara Set with the Evade Extender is an option.
The G. Ebony set can be made in Chapter 3 that includes Burst that increase your Attack as you hit enemies. The Insect Glaive's moves are easy to deal so it works well with. The Partbreaker from Ajarakan's leg is also a good addition.
Bow's recommended weapon for early High Rank is the Dosha Fearbringer III, which can be crafted in Chapter 4. It has high Attack and versatile since it is Elementless.
Bow's recommended Armor build for early High Rank mixes Yian Kut-Ku and Rathalos pieces. Constitution Lv5 eases Stamina consumption, and Adrenaline Rush Lv5 increases the damage afer Perfect Evade. It also has Decoration slots so you can add more Skills.
The recommended weapon for early High Rank with the Light Bowgun is 'Rey Szelatya II.' With 'Pierce Ammo Lv3' and 'Thunder Ammo Lv2 Rapid Fire Ammo,' you can increase Reload Speed and Ammo Damage with the effect of 'Opening Shot.' Upgrades can be done by hunting 'Rathian.'
The recommended equipment for the early stages of High Rank with the Light Bowgun is 'Rathalos Equipment.' With Evade-related skills, it becomes easier to maneuver, and when Evade is successful, you can expect a temporary Fire Power boost with 'Adrenaline Rush'.
The recommended weapon for the Light Bowgun up to HR40 is 'Rey Szelatya III.' With 'Opening Shot' at Lv2, Reload Speed and Fire Power will increase. At HR35, hunt the High Rank 'Rey Dau' to upgrade it.
From HR20 onwards, it is recommended to update your equipment to one based on 'Odogaron α Equipment,' as you can fight the High Rank 'Guardian Ebody' in the Ruins of Wyveria. By maintaining a continuous attack, you can expect a fire power increase with 'Burst', and 'Evade Extender' also makes maneuvering easier.
Heavy Bowgun's top recommended early waepon is Chata Sheller II. In Chapter 4, you will be able to upgrade this weapon further boosting your attack. Weapon skill Opening Shot increase to level 2.
For the early High Rank, Heavy Bowgun's recommended equipment is Doshaguma Alpha Equipment. The damage taken will be higher from Higher Ranks, so it is recommended to upgrade armor quickly. If you activate Doshaguma's Might to increase the fire power, and also activate Latent Power Lv4, you can get 40% Affinity.
From HR20, you can fight High Rank's Guardian Dragon Odogaron Subspecies in the Ruins of Wyveria, so it is recommended to update your armor equipment based on Odogaron Alpha Equipment. If you use Attack without interruption, you can activate Burst allowing you to have a stable increase in firepower.
