How to Use & Controls of Fishing Rod
Fish in Water where there are Fish

The Fishing Rod can be used in any body of water to capture fish found there. With the Fishing Rod equipped, use the L2 button and R stick to aim the lure and press the R2 button to throw the line. Guide the lure with the L stick, and when it bites, press the R2 button to catch the fish.

If you use a keyboard and mouse, you can head to the water where the fish are, equip the Fishing Rod, specify the location with the right-click and the mouse, and throw the lure with left-click. You can use the W and S keys to guide the lure, and when it bites, you can catch the fish by left-clicking.

You can freely change the bait that you use for fishing. The fish gets easier to catch depending on which bait you use on it.
How To Get Fishing Rod
Owned from the start of the game
Monster Hunter Wilds' Fishing Rod is already available for you to use from the start of the game. It is set in the Radial Menu field from the beginning, so if you cannot find it in the Item list, check the Radial Menu.
