Sandstars have been observed to spawn between Areas 11 and 16 in Windward Plains. Because Sandstars are nocturnal, they only spawn at night during both Fallow and Plenty seasons, so make sure to check the time in advance before searching for them.
Note: Sandstars will still react to the hunter even while wearing the Ghillie Mantle.
▶ Windward Plains MapHow To Capture Sandstar
Capture While Staggered from a Screamer Pod
Sandstar can be staggered using a Slinger loaded with Screamer Pod. Shoot it with Screamer Pod from a distance where it won’t flee, and while it’s flinching, use the Capture Net to catch it. Be quick when switching from the Screamer Pod to the Capture Net. If you hesitate, the stagger will wear off, and it will escape.
Screamer Pods is Obtained from Baunos
You can obtain Screamer Pods by using the Slinger on Baunos. Baunos can be found flying above the areas where Sandstar appears, so keep an eye out for them.
