Beware of Slinger Ammo's Automatic Reload

If the Slinger Ammo's automatic reload setting is turned on, it may switch to another Ammo automatically. This setting can be changed in the Controls tab of the Options menu. Review the settings depending on your preference.

Cannot Capture Large Monsters

The Capture Net can only catch Endemic Life and Fish. It cannot capture large or small monsters even if you try it on them. Capturing large monsters will require Tranq Bombs and any of the Traps.

Short Range Requires Getting Close to Target

The range of the Capture Net is fairly short, requiring hunters to get close to their target to catch them. This does pose a risk that the target may run off if they spot you.

Recommended to Use with Ghilie Mantle

By equipping the Ghilie Mantle as your approach the target, you remove the risk of being noticed by all but a few creatures. This makes using the Ghilie Mantle great when trying to capture Endemic Life.

How To Get Capture Net

Acquired as a Starting Item

Owned Capture Net

The Capture Net in Monster Hunter Wilds is a Starting Item that is obtained immediately after creating your character. By default, this item is also set in the Radial Menu, so be sure to check there if you otherwise cannot locate the item.

Be Mindful of the Auto-Reload Settings for Slinger Ammo

Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) - Slinger Auto-load Option

If the auto-reload setting for Slinger ammo is enabled, it may automatically switch to another type of ammo. You can adjust this setting in the Controls section of the Options menu, so if needed, review and modify your settings.

Slinger and Hook Slinger Guide

You Cannot Capture Large Monsters

You can only capture small creatures and fish with the Capture Net. It cannot be used on large monsters, so be cautious. To capture large monsters, you will need Tranq Bombs or Tranq Ammo.

Short Range: Get Close to Capture

Remember that the range of the Capture Net is short. You’ll need to get relatively close to the target, so be careful when capturing creatures that flee as you approach.

Recommended to Use With Ghillie Mantle

By equipping the Ghillie Mantle and getting closer, you can eliminate the risk of being noticed by most creatures. When capturing Endemic Life, using the Ghillie Mantle and Capture Net together allows for more efficient capturing.
