Link Party - Crossplay Multiplayer Features & Use

How to Form a Link Party

  1. Ask for the Hunter ID of the person you want to invite
  2. Open the link party invitation screen
  3. Enter your friend's Hunter ID to form a party
  4. Send Invite All to Environment Link

How to Host Link Party

Ask for the Hunter ID of the person you want to invite to the link party. Your own Hunter ID is displayed in the top left when you open the 'Hunter Profile' in the menu. If the ID is not displayed, press R3 to toggle the screen. If the person you want to invite is already added as a friend, you do not need to confirm the Hunter ID.

Next, to form a link party, select Link Party and Invite All to Environment Link in the menu.

On the link party invitation screen, open the 'Hunter ID' search tab, enter your friend's Hunter ID, and send them an invitation to join the link party.

If the other player is already a Friend, you can use 'Invite a Friend', the fifth option from the left on the Link Party invitation screen, and choose from your Friends List.

After forming a Link Party, if you select 'Invite everyone to the Environment Link', all members will be able to explore the same area together, even if they haven't accepted the quest yet.

  1. Share your Hunter ID
  2. Approve from the invitation notification list

Share your Hunter ID to the player hosting the Link Party. Your Hunter ID will be displayed in the upper left corner when you open the 'Hunter Profile' in the menu. If the ID is not displayed, press R3 to toggle the screen. If the other player is already a friend, you don't need to ask for their Hunter ID.

When you receive an invitation to a Link Party from another player, open the 'Invitation Notification List' in the Communication menu. Select the invitation and approve it to join the Link Party.

You Can Crossplay on Different Platforms

You Can Crossplay on Different Platforms

You can also invite people from different platforms to your Link Party. With Link Party, you can play together even if you have a PS5 and your friend has an Xbox.

If you want to play with players on other platforms, enable Cross-Play from the options on the title screen and the quest counter that appears when you talk to Alma.

The Link Party continues even after returning from a quest. Unlike the usual multiplayer, you can take on multiple quests with the same members.

When a Link Party member starts a quest, an automatic invitation notification will be sent to the other members. You can view the invites from the invitation notification list in the menu. Select the notification you want to join and accept the quest.

During a Link Party, you can use a member-only chat and voice chat. It makes communication easier, so be sure to take advantage of it.

You can access the chat from the Chat Log under the Communication menu. Press the R3 button and select Link Members to view only the chat within the linked party.

To use voice chat, go to the Voice Chat option in the Communication menu. You can choose which type between Quest Members and Link Members. Press L3 to switch to the Link Members chat.

Invite Players to Explore the Same Environment

With the Link Party, by linking with your party members and establishing an Environmental Link, you can invite them to your camp and explore the same hunting grounds together. Once you set up the Environmental Link, you can team up for a Field Investigation quest, where you'll be able to target the monsters found in that area.

Cannot Be Used Depending on Story Progress

You may not be able to join a Link Party if you haven't progressed the game as much as your friend. If that happens, progress the game first before trying again.

What is a Link Party?

Fixed Party That Can Consist of Up to 4 People

A Link Party is a multiplayer party that can have up to four players. If you join a Link Party, you can play the same quest together. Unlike a normal party, a Link Party will not disband after completing the quest.

You Can Form a Party With People Other Than Your Friends

You can form a Link Party as long as you know each other's Hunter ID. It is also possible to play a few quests together without becoming friends.

New Feature That Enables Crossplay

The Link Party is a new feature that enables multiplayer across different platforms, including PS5, Xbox, and Steam. Use Link Party if you want to play with someone on a different platform.
