How to Catch 30 Whoppers

  1. Go to Scarlet Forest Area 10 at Noon in Plenty
  2. Catch the Great Trevally
  3. Move to Another Map and Reset
  4. Repeat Steps 2 to 4

To catch 30 Whoppers in Monster Hunter Wilds, catch the Great Trevally in Scarlet Forest area 10 during daylight hours in Plenty. They appear with a high probability, and there is no need for specific tactics which are typically required for Whoppers, so it is easy to catch them

Go to Scarlet Forest Area 10 at Noon in Plenty

Go to Scarlet Forest Area 10 at Noon in Plenty

First, head to Scarlet Forest area 10 at noon in Plenty. If the environment is not Plenty in the daytime, take a break in the tent and change the environment.

Proceed with Kanya's Side Mission

Proceed with Kanya's Side Mission

To catch Great Trevally, you need to obtain "Tuff Joint Bait". Tuff Joint Bait can be obtained in Kanya's side mission "The Catch of a Lifetime", so if you haven't gotten it yet, proceed with the side mission first.


Set Up a Nearby Pop-Up Camp

It's easier if you Set Up a Nearby Pop-Up Camp

Before heading to the waterside of Area 10, we recommend setting up a Pop-Up Camp nearby. The two locations, Area 10 Southwest and Area 18 West are close together, so set up a camp in one of those locations.

Catch the Great Trevally

  1. Hold to change lure with
    *Tuff Joint Bait is recommended
  2. Press and Hold +
    To aim in front of the fish
    *If the distance between the Hunter and fish is too great, catching it becomes more difficult, so try to fish from a closer range.
  3. Tap
    To throw Lure
  4. Move
    up and down quickly to attract fish
  5. When it bites, press
  6. Move
    quickly

Aim for the Whopper Fish, Great Trevally near the water in Scarlet Forest Area 10 in Plenty. Throw the lure near the fish and quickly move the L stick to make it bite. When the fish bites, press R2 and then quickly move the L stick to catch it.

For Other Rewards, Area 17 is Recommended

Aiming for other Rewards, Area 17 is Recommended

In area 17, you can catch Goliath Squid, which is the objective for getting another Award. You can also catch Great Trevally, so if you want to achieve the Awards together, Area 17 is also recommended. In addition, when fishing for Goliath Squid, it is good to have a "Tentacle Jig".


Move to Another Map and Reset

Move to another Map and Reset

Once you catch the Great Trevally, Fast Travel to another locale to reset the map. After resetting, head to the Scarlet Forest fishing spot again. If you can't find the Great Trevally or let it escape, you can reset it using the same method.

Repeat Steps 2 to 4

Repeat steps 2 to 4 until you catch 30 fish. If you can fish smoothly, you can accomplish this in about an hour. Once you accomplish this, you will receive the "A-fish-ionado" award and trophy.

How to Check Awards and Trophies

Check the Hunter Profile

Awards can be Checked on Hunter Profile

You can check the Awards in Monster Hunter Wilds by opening the Menu and selecting Hunter Profile. Your level of effort will be communicated to other Hunters who have shared the Hunter Profile, so try to achieve 100% completion.

Check Trophy from the Top Right

Check Trophy from the Top Right of the Home Screen

Trophies for Monster Hunter Wilds can be checked by selecting the account icon at the top right of the home screen. Select "Trophies" to see which trophies you own.

Check During Gameplay

If you want to check your trophies while playing the game, press the home button once and select "Trophies" from the menu that appears. Only unachieved trophies can be checked.

How to Use Awards

Show Off in Your Profile

When editing the widget on the top page, you can freely place and edit various items such as the titles you own and time played. Arrange them according with the items you want to show.
