Break-Time Meal Activates with 'Sit' Gesture

The Portable BBQ Grill Meal Effect 'Break-Time Meal' activates when you perform the 'Sit' Gesture. Your Attack will increase for a certain time, so try sitting down just before a battle.

War Cry

War Cry Can be Activated with 'Roar' Gesture

The 'To Victory!' Gesture is for the armor Skill Blangonga's Spirit. If you use that armor, remember to register it to your Radial Menu so you can activate it quickly.

How to Use Gestures

Select from Communication Tab

  1. Select Communication From the Menu
  2. Select the Gesture You Want to Use

Gestures in Monster Hunter Wilds can be used by selecting the Gesture you want to use from Communication in the menu.

Open the Menu and select Communication.

Gestures are in the second tab from the right in the Communication section. Select the one you want to use from the Gestures list, and your character will perform the Gesture.

Shoutouts Can Be Edited and Saved

Shoutouts Can Be Changed and Registered

The Shoutout displayed simultaneously as the Gesture can be changed by selecting 'Change Shoutout' from the Sub-menu that appears when you press the △ button.

Hide Shoutouts

Comments Can Also Be Hidden with Shoutout ON/OFF

To hide the Shoutouts when using Gestures, select the Gesture and toggle 'Shoutout ON/OFF' with the L3 button. Use this when you don't want to send any texts to the chat.

Register to the Radial Menu

By registering Gestures to the Radial Menu, you can use them any time. Register all your frequently used Gestures.

Gesture While Riding Seikret

Gestures Possible While Riding Seikret

You can use Gestures even while riding a Seikret. However, gestures with large movements cannot be performed while mounted, so you will need to dismount your Seikret to use those.

How to Set Up Radial Menu

Register to Radial Menu

  1. Go to Customize Radial Menu
  2. Select Shortcut Wheel to Register
  3. Register the Gesture

Select Radial Menu Registration from Menu

Press the 'Option Button' to open the menu. Under the 'Items and Equipment' tab, select Customize Radial Menu, the fourth item from the top of the leftmost tab.

Select Wheel to Register

Select Palette to Register

The 'Radial Menu Shortcuts' will open with pre-made wheels, select the one you want to edit.

From Gestures in the Communication tab, register your favorite Gestures. It is possible to register up to 12 Gestures to one wheel.

Methods for obtaining Monster Hunter Wilds Gestures include 'Chapter Clear Rewards', 'Side Mission Clear Rewards', 'Seasonal Event Rewards', and 'DLC Purchase'.

You can obtain Gestures as Chapter clear rewards. Not only new Gestures, but variations may also be added to existing Gestures.

Side Mission Clear Rewards

Gestures can also be obtained as rewards for Side Missions 'Continuing Conflict', 'A Leviathan's Temper', and 'Troublemakers'.

In the Monster Hunter Wilds seasonal event 'Festival of Accord: Blossomdance', you can obtain spring-themed Gestures. It is expected that you will also be able to obtain themed Gestures in future seasonal events.

Gestures are also available as DLC, and you can use them in-game by purchasing each one. Not only individually, but there are also Gestures obtainable through the Deluxe Edition or Cosmetic Pass.

Perform Seikret Gestures Nearby

Gestures like petting your Seikret cannot be performed if the Seikret is not nearby. Call your Seikret by pressing the D-pad, or use them near your Seikret.

Dismount Seikret or Relocate

Dismount Seikret or Move to a Wider Area

Some Gestures will be grayed out and cannot be performed while riding a Seikret or in small areas. Dismount your Seikret or move to a wider area before performing them.

Unavailable During Some Missions

Cannot Be Performed During Certain Mission Progress

You cannot perform Gestures while moving during Missions, etc. You will be able to perform Gestures again once you progress some specific scenes.

Gestures

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Gestures are used as a means of communication using emotes. It is also possible to send texts to the chat along with the Gestures.
