Gathering Boosts in Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) will increase the amount of items you can get when hunting monsters. See how to activate this effect and find the monsters.
Gather Boost Effects
Increased Material Retrieval

By defeating a monster that is causing trouble for a settlement
you receive a 3-day Gathering Boost that increases the yield of materials gathered by the NPC from that locale. Note that this gathering boost does not increase the items that the player gathers.
Better Item Trade Rates

▲ Increased quantity of items per trade
While a Gather Boost is active, the number of items a Hunter receives in a single trade is increased. If you are looking for a specific item available through Item Trading, it is a good idea to activate a gathering boost beforehand.
Item Trade GuideStackable Up to 4 Times

By saving these hunts, Hunters can re-do the quest to stack active gathering boosts up to 4 times (12 days total).
Receive Titles and Backgrounds

As an additional bonus, Hunters who help settlements that are having monster trouble are awarded various titles and backgrounds for use in their Hunter Profile.

Repeated Rest Until They Spawn
When looking for Troublesome Monsters
on your own, you may need to rest an indefinite amount of times before one actually appears. Note that you might need a large amount of Guild Points, and there is no particular environment or time when they are more likely to appear, so you will have to rely on luck.
Check S.O.S. Hunts

Troublesome Monsters
will also grant gathering boosts even if they are hunted via S.O.S. signals from other players. Doing so this way will increase the amount of tradeable items in that quest's locale, so be sure to check where that hunt takes place if you are looking to trade a specific item.
Troublesome Monsters
are Random

▲ Check for Troublesome Monsters
on the map!
Monsters that are troubling the village generally have the possibility of appearing in a state where most monsters are agitated the the locale. Some monsters, like Jin Dahaad, will not appear as a troublesome monster
.
