Multiplayer Only ➡️ Only Other Players
Prefers Solo or Offline ➡️ Only Support Hunters

Choose to Have Both to Play with Other Players

With the top setting, you can send out SOS Flares to other players while also calling for a Support Hunter. The Support Hunter will join when no players come for a long time, and the party is not filling up quickly. This is a setting that allows you to enjoy both playing with other players and having a Support Hunter.

Don't Want NPCs? Set to Only Other Players

If you only want to play with other players, you can set it to Other Players Only to avoid calling NPC Support Hunters.

Only Want NPCs? Set to Only Support Hunters

For single-player or if you don't want to send SOS Flares to other players, set it to Support Hunter Only. With this setting, the SOS Flare will immediately summon three Support Hunters, allowing you to enjoy a full party without waiting.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Support Hunters

Advantages of Support Hunters

Less Likely to Be Targeted

With more people in your party, you will have a much greater chance of being attacked, reducing the likelihood of being defeated. It is recommended to rely on Support Hunters for monsters that are particularly difficult to handle alone.

Support with Items, Status Conditions, and Traps

When a player is near death, Support Hunters can provide various forms of support, such as using Life Powder, setting Shock Traps or Pitfall Traps, and applying status effects like Stun from Hammer or Sleep from Heavy Bowgun. The ability to provide diverse support is a significant advantage.

Disadvantages of Support Hunters

HP Increases With More Support Hunters

HP Difference with more Support Hunters

*Example based on damage from falling rocks, the damage will vary by about + or - 20.

It has been confirmed that the HP of the monster increases based on the number of Support Hunters. Therefore, depending on the performance of the Support Hunters, the monster's HP may be higher than when facing it solo.

Monsters Can Spread Out

Depending on the weapon type, having the monsters spread out can be a disadvantage. In situations where a fixed hunting method is established or when actions need to be consistent, this can become disruptive.
