Weapon Type Tier List - Best & Strongest Weapon Type

* The order of the weapons under the same tier are not based on which is stronger

The strongest weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds are the Great Sword, Long Sword, Gunlance, Bow, and Heavy Bowgun. These weapons have exceptional damage that exceeds all the other weapon types.

At High Rank, Element Strength Will be Taken Into Consideration

At the early stages, you can clear the story by just upgrading your starting weapon. However, once you get to High Rank, weapon Element and Skills will change weapon performance so the ranking may change.

Weapon Ranking Evaluation Criteria

	- Weapons that can deal outstanding damage
	- Weapons that have a high damage and balance - Great at not only offense but also in providing support
	- While these weapon has their own unique strength, they have a high threshold for dealing damage.

Great Sword Weapon Ranking

Overhead Slash has Become More Stable

The Great Sword's aim can be adjusted during Focus Mode, making it easier and more stable to hit monsters with the powerful Overhead Slash attack. Additionally, you can create opportunities with Power Clash and Offset Attacks to be able to deal Overhead Slash.

Long Sword Weapon Ranking

High Damage With Easy to Use Counters

The greatest strength of the Long Sword is its ability to counter enemy attacks through a wide range of counter moves without losing momentum. It takes time to get used to, but once mastered, it's a very strong weapon. Another strength of the weapon is its Spirit Gauge that increase Attack the higher its level is.

Includes Excellent New Attacks & Minor Changes

Many of the new techniques in Wilds for the Long Sword are excellent. The Spirit Helmbreaker, a well-known high damage attack, has a new follow-up, the "Spirit Release Slash".

The Spirit Charge can also be used to easily produce a roundslash to build Spirit Gauge. There are also other excellent new attacks and some welcome changes, such as the ability to cancel Spirit Helmbreaker in the middle of the move, which strengthens it.

Sword & Shield Weapon Ranking

One of the Lightest Weapons With the Ability to Stun

The Sword and Shield is one of the most mobile weapons in the game. It has little gaps in when attacking, allowing for a small and agile stance. It can attack with the shield, which builds up Stun when focusing on a monster's head.

Sword and Shield is also the only weapon type that can use items while in the drawn state, so it is recommended to those who are looking for a support-oriented weapon for multiplayer.

Evade Move "Backstep" is Strong

Backstep and Sliding Swipe have long invincibility frames, making them excellent evasion tactics. It takes some time to get used to, but once mastered, will allow you to evade and attack without losing momentum.

Dual Blades Weapon Ranking

Strengths Lie in High Attack Rate & Mobility

The Dual Blades is a complex weapon that can easily take advantage of Elemental Weapons to quickly and consistently apply Element to enemies through its quick attack rate.

By entering Demon Mode, movement speed becomes even faster, allowing for quicker movement and attacks. It's a weapon that is easy to operate and can be picked up by beginners.

Hammer Weapon Ranking

Good Balance Between Damage & Mobility

The hammer is characterized by many high-powered attacks, including Charge and Big Bang. Although it does less DPS than the Great Sword, it's more mobile and easier to use. Its new attack, the Charged Step, allows hunters to dodge while maintaining their Charged State!

The Hunting Horn is a unique weapon that provide excellent support through its Melodies, making it the best support weapon in multiplayer. Inputting the Performance Beat or Encore at the right time or by following up with Echo Bubbles, you can deal high damage!

Lance Weapon Ranking

Stable, but Requires Skill to Deal Damage

The Lance has the best defense performance among all 14 weapon types with its greatest strength in its stability. However, since it is slow, it is necessary to get used to its unique playstyle, including making use of rushing attacks. Excellent Choice for Sub-Weapon

The Heavy Bowgun is a great choice to have as your second weapon when out on the field since it can shoot demon Ammo into the ground. Not only can you increase your own damage when hunting solo, but it can also work in multiplayer!
