Nightflower Pollen - How to Get

Obtained Only on Full Moon

Obtained only on full moon

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Nightflower Pollen can be obtained by gathering the 'Ephemeral Blossoms' that only appear on a full moon night. It spawns in two locations, Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest.

Checking Map for Ephemeral Blossom

The 'Ephemeral Blossom,' which yields Nightflower Pollen, does not appear in the Environment Overview. To check its spawn, open the map, press the right D-pad, and use the Gathering Filter Icons.

Geologist Skill Does Not Work

Nightflower Pollen is not affected by the Geologist Skill's gathering effect. Since only one can be obtained per location, be sure to collect it when you find one.

Nightflower Pollen - How to Farm

Optional Quest 'Tempered Balahara'

Tempered Balahara for Nightflower

The most efficient way to farm Nightflower Pollen in Monster Hunter Wilds is to start the 'Tempered Balahara' Optional Quest during a full moon, collect the pollen, and use 'Return from Quest' to exit. This method allows for quick and repeatable farming without fighting monsters.

Obtain Up to 16 Nightflower Pollen in One Cycle

Between the start and end of a full moon, you can repeat the Optional Quest 'Tempered Balahara' up to 8 times. Accept the quest, gather materials, and return. Since you can collect 2 Nightflower Pollen per quest, you can obtain a total of 16 Nightflower Pollen.

Best Ways to Farm Nightflower Pollen

Progress the Story to Chapter 5-1

The Optional Quest 'Tempered Balahara' can be unlocked after Chapter 5-1. Progress through the story to reach Chapter 5-1 first.

Talk to Isai in Kunafa Village

Talk to Isai in Kunafa

Once the story progresses to Chapter 5-1, talk to Isai in Kunafa, Windward Plains, and accept the side mission. Simply speaking with Isai will unlock the Optional Quest 'Tempered Balahara.' If Isai is not present, take a break at the camp, set the time to Plenty and Morning, and look for the green icon on your map.

Adjust Moon Phase to Before the Full Moon

Adjust before Full Moon

Nightflower Pollen can only be obtained on a full moon night. There are 7 moon phases, and each time you take a break, the phase shifts by one. Check the current moon phase, and repeat resting in your tent until it's just before the full moon.

Check the Current Moon Phase

How to Check Moon
1Go to Pop-Up Camp in Windward Plains (Area 10 Southeast)
2Rest and Set the Time to Plenty-Nighttime
- The Moon Can Only Be Checked During Plenty, as Other Times Are Cloudy
3Wait for About 1 Minute Facing East From the Marked Location
4Check the Moon's Shape to Determine the Phase

Rest Until Just Before the Full Moon

Once you've determined the current moon phase, keep resting until you're one phase away from the full moon. Each rest changes the moon phase, so continue resting the necessary number of times to reach the phase just before the full moon. Note that each rest costs 300 Guild Points, so it's best to prepare them in advance.

*If you're playing offline, the moon phase may not change. This issue can be resolved by going online and updating the game. If the moon phase isn't changing, try switching to online mode.

Rest at the Camp Until Evening

Once the moon phase is just before the full moon, rest at the camp until Evening. If you switch to Nighttime, the full moon will already be up, reducing the number of Nightflower Pollen you can collect. Additionally, it doesn't matter which environment you choose when resting until evening.

Accept Optional Quest 'Tempered Balahara' and Gather

1Accept Optional Quest 'Tempered Balahara'
- Start From the Pop-up Camp in Area 10 Southeast
2Head to Ephemeral Blossom in Area 10 and Wait
3Wait 1 Minute for the Flower to Bloom and Collect Nightflower Pollen
4Fast Travel to the Pop-Up Camp in Area 3 South
5Jump From the Cliff While on Seikret and Glide
6Collect the Second Ephemeral Blossom and Return From Quest
7Accept Optional Quest from Alma and Repeat Steps 1-6

Check the Location of the Ephemeral Blossom in Advance

Climb the Cliff

Before starting the process, be sure to check the location of the Ephemeral Blossom at the first spot. For the second spot, head to Area 3 Pop-up Camp near the Ephemeral Blossom. From there, use Seikret to climb the cliff, and you'll find the Ephemeral Blossom right in front of you.

Quickly Reaccept the Optional Quest After Returning

After returning from the quest, quickly reaccept the quest from Alma. If time progresses during a full moon while not on a quest, the number of times you can collect Nightflower Pollen will be reduced.

Collect Before the Full Moon if You Miss It

The full moon ends if the night turns to morning outside of a quest. Return to Step 3 and get back to the state just before the full moon to collect again.
