Monster Hunter Wilds' Training Area can be accessed from Base Camp. You can head to the entrance as shown in the map above.

Defeat Doshaguma to Unlock

*Information based on Beta Test.

Doshaguma

The condition to unlock the training area is to clear the Defeat Doshaguma quest. The Doshaguma quest will automatically appear after you progress the tutorial and defeat Chatacabra.

What can you do at the Training Area?

Calculate Damage Output and Practice Combos

Monster Hunter Wilds' Training Area allows you to see your damage output and practice combos. Try out the usability of all 14 weapon types, find your favorite weapon, and practice for hunting. You can change weapons at the camp close to the area as well.

Use Settings to show Damage Output

You can see exactly how much damage you are dealing. The settings for this are at the top "Game Setting", you can turn on the damage display there. Note that you can't change it on the title screen, so you need to change it in-game.

Recommended Settings

Training settings can be configured from Palico Meownager

Training settings can be configured by talking to Palico Meownager in the training area. Various settings can be made, including your partner's training behavior and attack, so give it a try.

Training settings list

Hide Quality Settings Can be set to soft / hard
Wound Settings Can be set to normal / ON / OFF
Select Mode Can be set to Standby / Smash / Throw
Smash Pattern Cna be set options such as weak (knocked back)
Orientation Can be set options such as forward and more
Natural Recovery Settings Can be set options as Enabled / Disabled

Counter practice is possible by changing the "selection mode"

You can also practice counter-type operations by changing the "selection mode" settings so that your training partner attacks. We recommend Big Bang / Overhead Smash mode as it is the easiest to practice.

Practice Wedge Beetle and Hook Slinger

A Wedge Beetle is installed in the air in the center of the training area. You can check the operation of jumping on the Wedge Beetle with Hook Slinger and practice weapon actions in the air.

Used items are not consumed

Items used in the training area are not consumed. You can also measure damage when using attack-increasing items such as Demon drug.

How to leave in the Training Area?

Return to Base Camp from the Exit or Palico Meownager

You can return to Base Camp by going to the exit of the training area or by talking to Palico Meownager. Use this method if you have something to do at the Base Camp

Talk to Receptionist Alma and accept the quest

Accept quest from Receptionist alma

If you want to finish the training and start the quest, talk to Receptionist Alma in the training area and accept the quest. The quest will now start and you can exit the training area.
