Appearance Changes Slightly Depending on the Environment

The Dapperwing’s appearance changes slightly depending on the environment. During the season of "Plenty", Dapperwing has more reddish hues, while at other times, it has a predominantly green color scheme.

How to Capture Dapperwing

Approach and Capture with the Capture Net

The Dapperwing can be captured simply by approaching and using the Capture Net It does not flee when approached, so no need of using Ghillie Mantle.

It Can Return Even If It Flies Away

Dapperwing might fly away when you approach it closer or if the weather changes. If this happens, wait a while and the Dapperwing will return.

Change the Time with an Optional Quest if Missing

If the Dapperwing is missing or has completely flown away, it is recommended to accept an Optional Quest in the Scarlet Forest map to change the time. Try to search the area again after accepting and if it’s still not there, abandon the quest and accept it again to keep searching.

Time Can Also Be Changed Using the Camp Rest Feature

The camp has a "Rest" function that allows you to change the environment and time of day. Even if this is a good option, especially if you're near a camp, resting costs you 300 Guild Points.

CharacteristicsThis creature experiences a significant color change in male feathers during molting season.

In Fallow, it remains a dull green, blending with surrounding vegetation.

However, after completing molting during Plenty, its feathers turn vibrant. The bright coloration is believed to be used for courtship, where individuals with more striking colors and larger feathers have higher chances of successful mating.
