Dapperwings May Comeback Even it Flies Away

Dapperwing may fly away before the player gets close, such as when the environment changes. In that case, it may come back if you wait a little while.

Change the Time with Optional Quest

If you can't find Dapperwings, accepting the Scarlet Forest Map Optional Quest and changing the time is recommended. If you still can't find Dapperwings, return from the quest and start the quest again.

Change the Time Using the Camp Rest Function

Camp has a Rest function that allows you to change the environment and time of day. It is possible if the camp is nearby, but you will need 300 guild points each time.

Dapperwing - Effect and Look

FeatureA species noted for its males, who don spectacularly colorful plumage after molting. During the Fallow, their plumage is a subdued green to match the vegetation, but once the Plenty arrives, males preen to the nines, adopting a vibrant color palette- presumably to court females, since the more flamboyant males with larger feathers seem to be the ones flapping away with a date.

Required to Complete Side Missions

Capturing a Dapperwing is a requirement to complete the side mission Samin's Research Report. You must capture it while the mission is active as the mission cannot be completed by catching it beforehand.
