Black Windrustler Spawn in Area 10

Windward Plains

The rare Endemic Life 'Black Windrustler' has a guaranteed spawn in Area 10. Since the Ghillie Mantle is effective, be sure to equip it beforehand when searching. While Area 10 is the closest spot to set up a Pop-Up Camp, it's recommended to build it in Area 9 instead, as the nearby Rathian and Quematrice may destroy camps placed too close.

How to Get Wyvernsprout

Hunt Large Groups of Ceratonoth in Area 8

Recommended Due to High Numbers Windward Plains

The Quest 'Like a Fire Hidden by Sand' has a fixed nighttime environment in Plenty, where large groups of Ceratonoth are concentrated in several locations. By leaving the Ceratonoth carcasses, you have a low chance of obtaining the rare Special Item 'Wyvernsprout', making this Quest highly recommended for Special Item farming.

How to Get Wyvernsprout

Steps to Get Wyvernsprout

  1. Go to Camp in Area 8 Southwest
  2. Equip a Wide-Range or Fire Element Weapon
  3. Hunt the Ceratonoth Pack
  4. Check Map for Carcasses After 5 Minutes
  5. Get Wyvernsprout from Carcasses

Go to Camp in Area 8 Southwest

Recommended Due to High Numbers Windward Plains

First, go to the Pop-Up Camp in the southwestern part of Area 8. If you haven't set up a camp yet, make sure to speak with the Pop-Up Camp master beforehand to set it up.

Camp All Locations & Uses

Equip a Wide-Range or Fire Element Weapon

Fire Element or Wide

The large groups of Ceratonoth will start fleeing when attacked, so weapons like the Gunlance or Bow, which can attack over a wide area, are recommended. The Gunlance, in particular, is great for handling these groups, as its high-damage Wyvern's Fire can burn the grasslands and deal continuous damage. If you don't have these weapons in your inventory, choose a high-damage weapon or a Fire Element weapon instead.

If You Gather Bone Materials, Activate Geologist LV1

During the process of gathering Wyvernsprout, a large number of Bonepiles will spawn, so if you need bone materials, make sure to activate Geologist Lv1.

EquipmentActivation Effect

- Geologist Lv1
- Increases the number of bone gathering points +1

Bring Dung Pods for Large Monsters

Large monsters like Rathian and Quematrice may approach while you're targeting Ceratonoth, so it's a good idea to bring Dung Pods for safety.

Hunt the Ceratonoth Herd

Hunt the large herd of Ceratonoth near the Pop-Up Camp in Area 8. Five minutes after being defeated, their carcasses will turn into either 'Carrion Mushroom' or 'Rotten Carcass,' so continue hunting the surrounding Ceratonoth until then.

Check the Carcass Status on the Map After 5 Minutes

Check Carcass on Map

After 5 minutes, open the map and check the status of the Ceratonoth carcasses. If a carcass has sprouted a Wyvernsprout, it will display a special icon and the label 'Carrion Mushroom', making it easy to identify.

If Left for 7 Minutes, It Will Turn Into a Bonepile

A monster's carcass will turn into a Bonepile if left for 7 minutes. If a 'Carrion Mushroom' also turns into a Bonepile, you won't be able to collect Wyvernsprout, so make sure to gather it within the 2-minute window before it changes.

Get Wyvernsprout From the Carcass

Gather 'Carrion Mushroom' from the Ceratonoth carcass to obtain Wyvernsprout. Since spores-like particles will be visible coming from the carcass, you can identify it visually as well.
