How does a Turf War Happen?

A Turf War in Monster Hunter Wilds occurs when certain monsters meet on the map. The combination of these monsters are fixed, and what they do is also the same. If you want to trigger one, use luring items to get them together.

A Turf War does not necessarily occur even if the monsters meet each other. Sometimes they just attack each other normally.

When One Side is Down

Some Things Occrus When One Side is Down

For monsters like Arkveld and Xu Wu, there are certain combinations that trigger a Turf War when the other monster goes down. For example, in the case of Arkveld and Quematrice, they will initially just attack each other, and when Quematrice goes down, a turf war will occur and Arkveld will perform an absorption attack.

A Turf War may occur even if monsters meet each other in a place where no player is present. In that case, a notification will be sent in the chat.

Monster Hunter Wilds' Turf War is an event where large monsters fight each other. When it occurs, they attack each other until the battle ends, then each monster moves to a different location. The combinations of monsters that trigger these are fixed, and the content and outcome of each Turf War are also fixed.

Use to Deal Damage to Monsters

You Can Deal Damage to Monsters in Battles

Turf War's cause damage like normal and can reduce the monster's HP. If there is a monster that can cause a Turf War near your target monster, consider guiding it to your target.

Stay Away and Prepare for Battle

If you attack the monsters during a Turf War and interfere with Stagger, Flash ball, Traps, etc., the Turf War will be interrupted. After that, damage will no longer occur so once a Turf War starts, stay away and prepare for battle until it ends.
