Strategy and Tips for Temp Gore Magala

Farming Strategy

1Start with Shock Trap
2Try to Attack as Much as Possible
3Keep Distance and Mind Critical Distance
4Destroy Tempered Wounds to Create Opportunities
5Use Pitfall Trap While Frenzied to Increase Damage
6Capture Before Monster Relocates

Start with Shock Trap

Start by placing a shock trap and performing a sneak attack. After the monster has activated the trap attack from the front to destroy Tempered Wounds. Tempered Wounds for Gore Magala are often located at the head or wings, so keep that in mind.

Try to Attack as Much as Possible

When using Heavy Bowgun, breath attack can be avoided by moving left and right, so it is important to keep attacking. However, some attacks require Guarding or evading to get out of range.

Watch for Wing Slam → Uppercut Attack

If the monster Roars and doesn't go into an angry state, it will perform Wing Slam → Uppercut Attack. Both have the power to cause fatal damage, so concentrate on Guarding or evading until the next Breath attack.

Evade Backwards When Dash → Turn Around Attack

After a non-damaging dash Gore Magala will turn around and attack. Most of the time the attack can be evaded backwards, but there is a chance Gore Magala will use a wing attack, so if the motion is different, evade towards the side, or jump under Gore Magala.

Wing Goes Up before Wing Slam Attack

When Gore Magaal raises one of the wings, that's a sign for a Wing Slam attack. It has quick motion so if you're not confident, guarding is recommended.

Keep Distance and Mind Critical Distance

If you're fighting without riding Seikret, Gore Magala will slowly close the distance, which will reduce damage efficiency as it will be too close for Critical Distance. If Gore Magal closes the distance, make sure to move and remain at the critical distance.

Destroy Tempered Wounds to Create Opportunities

Against Temp Gore Magala, it is important to manage breaking Tempered Wounds to create an opening to attack. Try to destroy them one by one to make good use of them.

Use Pitfall Trap While Frenzied to Increase Damage

Use a Pitfall Trap while Gore Magala is Frenzied to increase damage. It is a bit risky to set up a trap while fighting, so place the trap while its movement is sustained.

To Break Horn, Sleep → Mega Barrel Bomb

If you want to destroy the Horn, create large distance and switch to Heavy Bowngun with Sleep Ammo. After Gore Magala sleeps, switch back to a Fire Heavy Bowgun and place a Mega Barrel Bomb and Pitfall Trap a bit away from the monster. After activating the bomb, use the Pitfall Trap and aim at the Horn to destroy it.

Capture Before Monster Relocates

If the monster moves to a different area, it will take extra time so once a skull appears on the mini map or Palico says the monster is weakened, capture it quickly. Gore Magala cannot be stopped using a Flash, so capturing it as soon as possible is recommended.
