How to Register a Loadout

Register at the Camp Tent

loadout from tent

You can register or save your Monster Hunter Wilds Armor and Weapon setup from the "Equipment Menu" that can be accessed through the Tent at camp. Not only can you register your Item Pouch, Equipment and Radial Menu setup through this menu, but you can also replenish the contents of your Item Pouch and Ammo Pouch all at once.

Registered Setup Cannot be Edited

The Equipment Menu is for registering new sets or applying an already saved set to your hunter; you cannot change the armor, weapons or decorations that is already saved as a registered set. If you want to edit a registered set, you'd need to equip your new, desired setup and then overwrite the existing registered set by saving it in the same slot.

You Can Also Register from the Item Pouch or Change Equipment Screen

Loadouts can also be registered from the Item Pouch or from Change Equipment in the same tent. You can call up the loadout menu by pressing on the L stick after entering an edit screen.

Loadouts Can be Named

You can classify each loadout by giving them names. It's recommended to label each one with an easy-to-understand name so you can ascertain the registered contents at a glance, especially when the number of loadouts increase over time.

Loadouts Can be Shared Online

share loadouts

You can share your registered loadout with others by selecting "Share" using the △ button. You can share your personal loadouts or have friends share their own recommended loadouts.

Recommended Loadout Settings

Register an Item Pouch Loadout with Frequently Used Items

frequently used items

It's recommended to save frequently used items in an Item Pouch Loadout. Not only can you replenish items by applying the loadout, but you can also store extra items such as gathered materials.

Item & Material List

Recovery Items Should be Registered

Recovery items such as potions are almost always required in most situations, so you should definitely consider registering them for ease of access. In addition to "Potions" that can recover health, we also recommend including "Rations" that can increase your maximum Stamina as well as the extremely useful "Nulberry" to your item loadout.

Consider Adding Cold and Hot Drinks

It'll be convenient to register a Cold and Hot Drink to have on-hand for both the hot and cold areas so you wouldn't forget them. However, these drinks can be created from items readily available on the Map, so if you don't want these items to take up space in your pouch, you may exclude them.

Traps and Tranquilizers Are Also an Option

We also recommend adding a Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, and Tranq Bomb for capturing monsters to your item loadout. You can only carry one of each trap at a time, so whenever you use one up, reapplying the loadout will always replenish it. It'll be easier to ensure you always have these capture tools ready if you add these to the loadout.

Don't Forget to Include Your Charms

The Power Charm and Armor Charm, which increase Attack and Defense when held, have no effect unless they are present in your Item Pouch. If it isn't added to the loadout, it will be removed from the pouch when you reapply or replenish, so be sure to include this in your registered loadout it if you have it.

Create Item Loadouts for Each Weapon

It is also recommended to create your own set of items needed for each weapon type. Especially if using a Bowgun, for example, where you would appreciate having a surplus of Ammo Crafting Material. Having dedicated loadouts like this will make it easier to replenish specific items.

Create Equipment Loadouts for Each Weapon

You should also consider saving different equipment loadouts for each weapon that you use frequently. You would no longer need to worry about changing armor or decorations when switching weapons, making it easier to change your build setup in response to specific monsters.

Customize the Radial Menu with Frequently Used Items

Registering all the items you often use in your daily hunting in the Radial Manu should make item usage during these hunts a lot smoother. You'd also be able to quickly access any enhancement items, capture items, and Ammo crafting materials for Gunners even in the midst of combat.
